In all seriousness, while some 10 day contract from '97 isn't going to put the negotiations in the Magic's favor, the new GM has serious repercussions for CP3. I'm surprised a bigger deal hasn't been made over this yet on here for the sake of speculation. For instance, Pritchard would certainly "over-value" what Portland had to offer. He hand picked that roster, and whatever players they had he at some point saw something in them worthy to ink them to a deal. Pritchard goes there, Portland is in the lead if the 20% chance of trading Paul happens. Same thing with Otis turning Golden State into the Magic's farm league--he and Tward like GS players, have relationships with GS and that gets things done. More so, GMs are fanbois like the rest of us. They get hung up on certain player's potential, some glimmer of something they saw on tape or some saber metric quantitative analysis stat only they look at, and players follow them.

    Juwan and Z to HEAT

I really like this. Juwan Howard is cursed. Every team he's been on has underperformed. Biggest faker "intense professional" in pro sports. Beats out Donovan McNab by an inch. About Z... Dwight will eat him alive, Although he will clear out space in the key for Wade and LaBrum to carve it up.

Magic going in for Chris Paul

Need Okafor, Deng & Igodala to form the '04 draft super team. Along with Dwight, 'Meer and Duhon, they might be able to contend with the Miami '03 draft superteam. Seriously though, NBA basketball isn't going to be competitive for the next decade.

    Otis has been awesome!

Not 100% on this but if Otis didn't use ALL of the Magic's cap space in summer of '07 on $hard, we wouldn't have had the MLE to chase Pietrus with in '08. We would be locked down only being able to trade for talent once Dwight & Meer's extensions hit the books in '08, so we would be in the exact same scenario we are right now w/o the player that makes our system work. Seriously though, who else to blow your space on other than $hard that year? '07 player movement Vince?? Why risk loosing out on $hard if it wasn't going to effect your player acquisition strategy going forward?

Magic going in for Chris Paul

Hoopsworld Drivel You all can go home now.... The braintrust at Hoopswurld sez CP3 is going nowhere. quote: Paul's Only Way Out: All the focus has been on the superstars available in free agency, but there could be another one attainable via trade. According to ESPN.com's Chad Ford the New Orleans Hornets considered a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers for Chris Paul. The deal consisted of Paul and Emeka Okafor going to Portland for Andre Miller, Joel Pryzbilla, Nicolas Batum, Jerryd Bayless and a first round pick but the Hornets declined at their owner's request. The Hornets are on the verge of changing ownership from George Shinn to Gary Chouest. The sale would be called off immediately though if Paul were to be traded. Chouest was a major part of the Hornets' head coaching search and the question he had for everyone was how they would use Chris Paul. The only way Paul is moved is if there a convergence of worst case scenarios that result in the sale falling through and Paul demanding a trade. Paul is beloved in New Orleans though and it's hard to envision him going Shaquille O'Neal in L.A. or Vince Carter in Toronto with new ownership coming in. Even with the possibility of joining forces with close friends LeBron James or Dwyane Wade Paul just doesn't seem like he has it in his character to turn his back on a city that has given him so much support.
