  1. I stilI think we should trade the pick with Fournier to get a go-to-scorer. Maybe Washington would listen to a offer for Beal or the Bulls for LaVine.

We also shouldn‘t overpay for Vuc. If he wants more than 15mil we should sign another free agent (Brook Lopez, Valanciunas, Kanter, McGee, Robin Lopez, Ed Davis...) There are enough options available.

Same with Ross. I would hate to lose him. But if the price is more than 12mil we should pass. With Redick, Danny Green, Hood, Lamb... there are also some other options available.

  2. I think we should try hard to get Malcom Brogdon. He can play PG if Fultz isn‘t ready or play the starting SG. Also try to resign Ross for a fair contract (not more than 15m per year). Trade Fournier and our Pick for cap space. Let Vuc walk and bring Gortat on a cheap contract back to the Magic.

    Roster next season:

    Fultz/Augustin/Brogdon/Briscoe

    Brogdon/Ross/Frazier

    Isaac/Ross/Iwandu

    Gordon/Isaac/Martin or a veteran PF

    Bamba/Birch/Gortat

So Chicago is making everyone outside of Markkanen/WCJ available. Lavine can score but he’s kinda deedeedee. Dunn could turn out to be good a few years down the toad.

Could Lavine be our starting PG or is he more a SG?

I would say the best thing we could do is to relegate Fournier to backup minutes and/or the bench and either start Ross (if we are going to resign him) or give our young guys more minutes.  Not Like we are going anywhere.  His last three years (once he signed his 5 year deal) stats do not show much improvement, if anything they show regression, this current one being the worst.  Best stats were when he played SF which he is not one.  Not sure why, perhaps it is our team makeup, Cliffords system, Fournier's off season program...whatever but he just does not seem to be a good fit here.  Not a completee tank job since he resigned but also not a SG I want for our future either.

Let's try to trade Fournier for Rubio. Something like Fournier + Grant + OKC-Pick for Rubio + Sefelosha.

This trade would slove 2 problems (Starting PG and get ride of Fournier).

I think this trade would also help the Jazz. They played there best basketball this season with Mitchell at PG. Fournier could be a nice fit at SG.

  5. We should try to trade Fournier and his bad contract. For the right trade I would also include the OKC-Pick.

Fournier + Grant + OKC-Pick for Rubio and Sefelosha (or Fournier + OKC-Pick for Tyreke Evans)

After the trade Ross is our starting SG. So we could see how good he is in that role and if we should resign him. Also we could see if Rubio fits (or if Evans still can play PG) We would also be in the playoff race with that roster.

After this season i would try to build our team like this:

PG: If we don‘t want to resign Rubio after this season we should overpay on Russell (frontloaded contract that starts near 25 M.). Keep Augustin as 2nd PG

SG: If we don‘t want to resign Ross, we should try to get Brogdon (15 M. per year?). A backcourt of Russell and Brogton would be realy good. Let Simmons walk and and try to get a rookie SG. Keep in mind that Russell and Iwandu could also play some minutes at SG.

SF: stay with Isaac. Bring in a cheap veteran (maybe Chandler Parson). Keep Iwandu as a backup

PF: stay with Gordon. Bring in a cheap veteran (Mbah a Moute or Wilson Chandler or Aminu)

C: This depends on Bamba if he already can be our starting C. I can‘t see Vuc stays in Orlando (he will get better offers). So we need a backup C who maybe could start at the beginning of the season. He also should be cheap because we already spent our money the backcourt. What about Gortat? He wants to be back in Orlando and he can still get us some solide minutes on the court. We should also keep Birch as our 3rd C.

soo many wrong things here. I dont think any teams gets better here.

    1. Why for Chicago? why trade Lavine, who has been excellent for them  this year. Why they will take on Mozgov contract? all of this for Ingram? No way they will do this.

    2. Why for LA? They have been happy with McGee so far. They are not trading Ingram and McGee for Vooch.  Not happening. They are going hard after AD.

    3.  For Orlando. I do not think this will make us any much better. LaVine is not a true PG and will be in the exact position we were when Oladipo and Fournier were playing together.

    I pass.

    1. I think Ingram would be a better fit to there other young players (Dunn, Markkannen and Carter jr.). Mozgov contract expires the same year as the contracts from Dunn and Ingram.

    2. I don‘t think AD will be moved before next offseason. Vuc would be a perfect fit along to LBJ and maybe AD next season (if Vuc resigns) I am sure that the Lakers would prefer Vuc (all star 2019?) over McGee. Give away Ingram also would not hurt them.

    3. I am also uncertain if LaVine can be a starting PG. For me Fournier should also be moved (expires contact). I think a backcourt with LaVine and Ross could work well.

  7. Can Zach LaVine be a starting PG?

If yes, maybe we could do a trade like this:

ORL out: Vuc + Mozgov + Grant

ORL in: LaVine + Beasley + McGee

LAL out: Ingram + Beasley + McGee

    LAL in: Vuc + Grant

    CHI out: LaVine

    CHI in: Mozgov + Ingram

    LaVine/Augustin

    FournierRoss/Simmons/

    Isaac/Ross/Simmons

    Gordon/Isaac/Beasley

    McGee/Bamba

  8. Would you trade Fournier and Augustin for Rubio and Sefolosha? I would hate to lose Augustine but I think Rubio could be a nice player in Orlando. If he didn‘t match with BIG, we at least get some capspace. Maybe we could include Dallas in the trade. Then Rubio should go to Dallas and DSJ (with fillers) to us.

No. The important thing to remember is vucevic's 12 million coming off the books doesn't necessarily mean we get 12 million in cap space. You have to put it in context with the rest of our salary.

Ok. Thanks for the information. So let‘s say if we don‘t make a trade our cap is 30 million (I have no idea what it realy is). With that money we should find a new PG, resign Vuc or find a new C, resign Ross or find a new SG/SF.

With „my“ trade we lost 1.5 mil. capspace (Crabbe to Fournier) and about 8 mil. for Harris (instead of Ross). But on the oder hand we don‘t have to resign ross (I think that would be more than the differenc of 9.5 mil) or find a replacement for under 9.5 mil.

So I still think even if we don‘t resign Russell this trade woudn‘t make us worse. And we also lost 1 year on the Fournier-Contract.

But hypothetically let's say Russell doesn't work out and we don't want to sign him, we now have limited avenue to obtain a different starting point guard

I am not an expert on the cap situation. But let‘s say we let Russell go. Wouldn‘t we get his 7 mil. and the 12 mil. from Vuc? With that cap it should be possible to get an upgrade (to Augustin) at the PG and a backup C. If not, we have to wait 1 more season until Mozgov, Crabbe, Augustine and Harris contarts expire.

Why wouldn't we just sign Russell this Summer?

And what makes Russell worth trading for to begin with?

So we get the chance to see him the rest of the season and how he fits with our roster before we spent a lot of money on him. I also think the pieces we give away (specially Fournier and Grant) aren‘t useful for us. For Ross we get a good replacement in Harris on a fair contract. The OKC-Pick is the price we have to pay. Crabbe has a worse contract. But in our situation I prefer his contract (2 years) over the contract from Fournier (3 years).

  12. Trade after January 15:

    Fournier & Ross & Grant & OKC-Pick for Russell & Harris & Crabbe

This trade would save Brooklyn some cap for the offseason.

With Harris we get a good replacement for Ross. Crabbe has a 2 year contract that expires in the same year as Mozgov an Augustin. That means we would have a lot of capespace in that year. Also we would see how Russell fit with BIG. Then we could decide if we want to keep him in Orlando or not after this season. For next season we just need another Center under contract. Maybe resign Vuc or go for a FA (Robin or Brook Lopez, Kyle O‘Quinn, Marcin Gortat, Enes Kanter, Richaun Holmes, Kosta Koufos...)

    2019:

    Russell/Augustin

    Crabbe/Harris/Simmons

    Isaac/Harris/Simmons

    Gordon/Isaac/FA

    Bamba/FA/Birch

I will love that but Why For Sacramento? Bogdanovic is on a very friendly contract and is better than Fournier to pair him next to Hield.

The Kings could make the playoffs this year. Fournier is in the same age as Bagdanovic and should give them almost the same production on the court but with a worse contact. For taking the extra money from the Fournier contract they get a much needed SF (Hollis-Jefferson) who could start immediately. Fournier could be their 6. man.

    Kings roster:

    Fox/Mason/Ferrell

    Hield/Fournier/Shumpert

    Hollins-Jefferson/Fournier/Jackson

    Bjelica/Bagley/Giles

    Cauley-Stein/Koufos/Giles

  14. I would offer Ross and Grant to the Nets for Russell and Harris on January 15. Harris is a good replacement for Ross with a fair contract. Russell could be our missing PG. See what he brings the team the rest of the season and then decide if you want to keep him.
