BREAKING: Matt Barnes to Lakers (PG. 16)

If we offered a couple/few years and the first was at $1.9 it obviously looks like he took less money to go to LA, but at least he's back home in Cali I guess.

    Duhon vs. Ridnour

Ridnour is Jason Williams. Good passer, good shooter, but skinny and terrible on defense. Duhon is what we needed. He is an all-around very good backup point guard. I like Duhon better and feel it was the perfect signing as a guy to play behind Jameer.

Expect Gortat to be traded Tuesday

So if they can shed Iggy's long contract with Brand's, they're set for a successful rebuilding period. Possibly, however I'm pretty sure they will try it out before doing it. As far as this season goes: we match for JJ and don't make any other moves. We see how the team is going and how the "super team" is playing. If by the trade deadline Wince is still the same player and the 76ers find Iggy "expendable", it might actually happen. Although I do think if we were to offer Wince for Iggy NOW, it could happen, obviously meaning we'd have to take Brand. Money-wise... well, it's not extremely wise, but if the DeVos doesn't care about spending money and the move (which should make us better) doesn't hinder the team financially too much, I don't see a reason to fret. But, it's still just a personal preference and I got tired of people who honestly thought I was serious about Roy, so I decided to pick another favorite player who seemed a little more "likely"... they're trying to dump brand so i think the only way we can get iggy is if we take him. The only way i think we would take on Brand's contract is if we get them to take vince gortat and bass. They might do that, but i dont think otis would. That about sums it all up We wouldn't need to give them Bass, just Carter and Gortat work salary wise for Brand and Igoudala. If they want Bass then I'd ask for Speights in return at least.

With this trade the magic would save about 4mil to help match JJ's front loaded contract. This is just my 2 cents of speculation. If this rumor is even valid. I like Hollins, I've tried to get some trades to work with him in there. He's nothing special, but he's size and Jefferson can play minutes at Center anyway.

Why? Because I tried to put together and validate all the rumors? I didn't make these up to just make them up. This is what's floating around and while everybody just shrugs them off I tried to explain why they may work. Chill out bro. There isn't any rumor that suggests we would trade for Iguodala. Also, we don't need Jefferson nor is Iguodala anything close to an upgrade over VC. Uh, yes there are. The rumor is Otis would go after Igoudala if we can get Jefferson, or possibly go after Igoudala anyway. Also, yes, he would be an upgrade over Carter. He isn't as good a shooter, but he is willing to take it to the hoop and plays with MUCH more intensity on the defensive end. Carter couldn't defend Wade or LeBron if his life depended on it, Igoudala could though. We have enough shooter with Nelson and Lewis and Redick, (also Pietrus if we can keep him) plus Brewer's not bad if we happen to get him.

Expect Gortat to be traded Tuesday

Essentially 2 trades, but I consolidated to 1 in the trade machine: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/t...hine?tradeId=24r9se8 Philly gets: Gortat, Anderson, Pietrus Minny gets: Carter Orlando gets: Jefferson, Brewer, Igoudala Orlando: PG: Nelson - Duhon - (Dooling for vet min?) SG: Igoudala - Redick SF: Lewis - Brewer - Robinson PF: Jefferson - Bass - Anderson CE: Howard - (cheap fa) - Orton Igoudala is what Carter isn't (or, I guess, can be but won't be), an athletic slasher or can kill it defensively. We need him to match up with Wade and/or LeBron now. Jefferson gives us a traditional look with Lewis at SF. Jefferson/Howard down low dominate Bosh and whatever scrub they sign for the minimum. Brewer replaces Barnes but is bigger, younger and a better shooter... also a better locker room guy. Match Chicago's Redick offer; we need him back. Go sign a cheap veteran center, but Jefferson can play minutes there too. Sign Dooling for the vet min or with the BAE if we want a 3rd PG. Philly: PG: Holiday - Williams SG: Turner - Greene - Meeks SF: Young - Pietrus - Kapono PF: Brand - Speights - Smith CE: Gortat - Hawes Paves the way for Holiday/Turner/Young to be their future... and it looks bright. All 3 are solid young players and they get a true Center in Gortat. Pietrus gives them the defense they lost with Iggy and a spark off the bench. They're pretty deep now, and have legit big men. Speights is not a center, so he can take over for Brand at PF eventually. Great young core that could start to win VERY soon. Minnesota: PG: Flynn - Sessions - Rubio? SG: Carter - Ellington SF: Johnson - Webster PF: Beasley - Love CE: Milicic - Pekovic - Hollins Great young PFs now that they have Beasley and Love. Carter takes the load of Johnson to be THE wing scorer as a rookie. Could probably teach him a few things and then his huge contract comes off the books in a year. Johnson will be THEIR guy soon, but he won't have to force things his first year with Vince there. They got Webster from Portland so losing Brewer isn't a huge deal. Great young core in Flynn, Rubio?, Johnson, Beasley, and Love to build on and with Vince's contract coming off the books they'll have tons of cap room next summer to go get some guys without having to suck this year.

The way to Beat the Heat

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/t...hine?tradeId=3a7qa7t This is how we get back. to ORL: Igoudala, Brewer, Jeffeson to MIN: Carter to PHI: Gortat, Pietrus Let the NOH keep Paul if they want. If they're set on keeping him then there isn't much we can do to get him. Reports are Philly wants to trade out Igoudala now that they've got Turner, and Minny apparently really wants to unload Jefferson (plus, they just resigned Milicic to a big deal and traded for Beasley). Igoudala could stifle Wade and Jefferson/Howard downlow eliminates anything Bosh could do. This wins us a championship. Miami wouldn't have the fire power for this no matter who've they've got.

Gortat will be trade for 99,9%

Seriously, this is not going to happen unless there is another deal on the table that Otis is making. We would have WAY too many wings and NO back up Center (obviously Orton has shown jack in the Summer League that would warrant minutes even on an NBDL team). There is another deal if it is only Gortat for Miller, there has to be. Mike is a solid 3rd or 4th wing, he can really shoot it and is a very unselfish player. I can think of no other reason to do this other than we are going forward with the Paul/Okafor for Nelson/Carter deal. PG: Chris Paul - Chris Duhon - Keyon Dooling SG: Mickael Pietrus - J.J. Redick SF: Rashard Lewis - Mike Miller - Stanley Robinson PF: Emeka Okafor - Brandon Bass - Ryan Anderson CE: Dwight Howard - (free agent, rest of MLE)(Okafor) - Daniel Orton

Gortat will be trade for 99,9%

this makes sense if we are doing the Paul/Okafor for Carter/Nelson deal. We'd be short a wing and have 1 too many bigs. 3 way deal: WAS S&T Miller to us, we give Gortat to Minn or WAS and then some other pieces happen from MINN but we don't know those details. Would also mean the TPE for Posey is off the table now if/when it expires, but becuase we agree to take Okafor they wouldn't need to get rid of Posey and shed his salary now anyway.

Magic going in for Chris Paul

We don't need McGrady is we are going to already have Vince/JJ at the 2. Not even. We could sign much better players for the rest of the MLE and ones that can actually finish a full season Agreed. I was just saying if anything that is the MOST I would give him and ONLY would remotely consider it if we got Paul here and had a void at SG.

    Chris Duhon to join Magic

Agree with just about everybody in that this was a good signing as a backup point guard. His contract isn't out of control either, and provides a little bit left for maybe a veteran big man if we trade Gortat in a Boozer deal (obviously Orton is not close to being ready for significant minutes behind Dwight). Anyway, so right nowe we look liek this: PG: Jameer Nelson - Chris Duhon SG: Vince Carter - J.J. Redick SF: Rashard Lewis - Mickael Pietrus PF: Brandon Bass - Ryan Anderson C: Dwight Howard - Marcin Gortat - Daniel Orton Not bad at all really. Solid depth at all positions. If we went into the season ike this I wouldn't be all that upset. Gives us flexibility to makes some trades now.

    Update from Three Separate Sources

Ok, say we do the Paul trade, but then Boozer gets a max deal (he is much better and more deserving than Rudy Gay is). Do we still go after him? What about going after another of Dwight's buddies in Atlanta, Josh Smith? He'd be a great addition next to Dwight with his athleticism and defensive abilities. He's not a great shooter, but has a decent mid-range game and has given up the 3 ball. Atlanta needs a true 5 anyway in order to move Horford to his natural, PF position (who, paired with Joe Johnson, should be their future). Would Atlanta take Okafor's contract? to NOH: SG Vince Carter, PG Jameer Nelson, $6mil TPE to ORL: PG Chris Paul, PF Josh Smith, SF James POsey to ATL: C Emeka Okafor
