The times he was spotting up the first thing he does after receiving the ball is bring the ball down to his waist. Might be a little nitpicky but that is a concerning habit.

They can sign Bosh, and since Parsons is a RFA, they can match the offer sheet while going over the cap. Has to be done in that order. Bosh signs, then match offer sheet.

There is no real harm with being under the salary floor. The Ben Gordon signing was not made so we hit the floor.

When did I mention they had the same odds? My point is you shouldn't jump on somebody's argument because it is based on future expectation when your argument is also based on future expecation.

If Parson's is only going to get better as you put it, why would he sign a contract that lets the team have the option to decline him? I personally can't think of someone who was on the upswing of their career, was thought of throughout the league as a solid player and they signed a deal where the team holds the option at the end of the contract. It is usually the player that holds an ETO. Which is why the Magic hold a termination option on Gordon's contract, he hasn't produced solid numbers in some time, downswing of his career, etc. etc. How can you say Parsons is only going to get better and then a post later crap on Catman for pretending to know what the future holds? There is no guarantee that Parson's hasn't hit his ceiling.

Are you saying you would rather the Magic overpay for a Chandler Parson's type; be locked into a ~4 year contract which will most likely limit the cap space and flexibility that Rob has worked to build when realistically we are a few years from being a legitimate contender? A signing like that could really stunt the growth of the team. What we assume is the core of this team is very young, we don't know how they will fit together. Our needs this year might be drastically different than our needs in 2-3 years after our players devlop, and signing a player of Chandler's caliber to a long contract based on need this year is terribly myopic. I don't understand the hate of the Ben Gordon signing. It's a 2 year contract with a team option in the 2nd year. If he doesn't work out, it doesn't hurt the long term goal of maintaining cap space and flexibility. If it works out, there might be a contender who would like him as a bench scorer.
