2017-2018 Official Season Discussion Thread

Hawks up 25-15!!! We need to especially stay away from injury prone project players. -
He sucks, he passes up on open 3s because he knows he can't make them. Defensive players know that and slack off him point line at the 3 point line which puts more pressure on the guys that can shoot.

2017-2018 Official Season Discussion Thread

"One rookie that is starting to turn the corner is Dennis Smith Jr. In his last two games, he’s averaged 20.0 points, 7.0 boards, 8.0 assists, 1.0 steals and 4.0 treys. It’s only a two-game sample, but DSJ was unassisted in 76.9 percent of his makes and he had an 81.3 effective field goal percentage on his jumpers." https://sports.yahoo.com/stats-pizza-guy-back-184800354--spt.html -
2018 NBA Draft Thread

^ I agree. We need one of the game changing PGs or centers (if we can move Vuc). It would be really great if we could finagle some way to trade into the top 5 and get 1 of each. Biz is starting to play like what we signed him for with the extended minutes so picking a young big to develop behind him would be OK. I'd much rather get Doncic, Young, or Sexton and trade EP for a bag of onions and a 2nd. -
He's been playing his whole life WITHOUT that much hair blocking his vision. Did you see the video from yesterday's game of his hair literally hitting him right in the eyes when he went up to shoot? You must not play because you obviously don't understand the importance of seeing and focusing on the basket the entire time you are going through your shooting motion or you wouldn't have said that. That's the whole reason that defenders want to get a hand in the shooter's' face to disrupt a shot. Will he magically get better? I don't know but it definitely won't make him worse, so why not take a shot at it? From personal experience playing a lot of years of basketball I can testify that being able to clearly see the basket is really important to being a good shooter. That's why guys work so hard to get shots off without a hand in their face.

We have sole possession of 3rd right now and there is no reason for us to win even 1 more game. We HAVE to tank and get a top 5 pick!!! -

Hopefully new management is smarter than that! -

Go Hawks, Lakers, Grizzlies, and Kings! We need them to go on a winning streak! -
I agree 100%, and it also says something about our management that allows it to continue.

And EP/3&D FA/Simmons/Isaac/Vuc isn't a bad bench either if we can't find takers for EP & Vuc -
Get a baseball cap, take the cardboard out of the brim, put it on, then go play some basketball. There is no way ANYBODY could convince me that his hair does not affect his vision in a very negative way. I have had very long hair since the 70s. I played HS football as a quarterback and many years of baseball as a pitcher. I wore a ballcap with no brim under my helmet to keep my hair in and ponytail inside my cap to pitch. The HS basketball coach wouldn't take me unless I cut my hair off even though I could destroy every guy on the team except 1. I did play BBall in college with long hair and in a county league for many years but it was always pulled back. Hair is a personal choice, but it should never interfere with performance especially when you are getting paid. Pin that S**t back or something so it doesn't block your vision.

Yes I did but I was referring to drafting him over DSJ. We needed a PG that could play now and still do. Did you see how many open 3s EP passed up last night? Hopefully management made the right choice and we get Young. I would love to see the rest of the season go just like last night and give us the best shot at a high pick. Great game to watch, guys played well, we lost. Perfect combo. -
Woohoo what a great game!!!
-
OK we played great and it was a fun game. Now let's tank this last minute!
-
Especially with nobody even close to a rebounding position.
-
We have been doing that better other than there was 1 pass where Payton dumped it really hard to Biz under the hoop and he couldn't hold on.
-
Biz has been looking really good with all these extra minutes he's been getting.
-
Biyombo plays some really good D sometimes.
-
Mo Buckets makes shooting look so easy when he's on.

Actually I was speaking of Mario, 3 years into his career, Isaac hasn't been playing enough to pass judgement on. -

So is choosing guys with potential that never become anything near what the pick they wasted getting them should.
