Because he has the highest chance of being a super star of anyone in the draft and Isaac will probably have ankle problems his entire career that will keep him out of a lot of games.

How many of you would give up Isaac & #5 for Doncic?

They only draw 3, then it is done by record after those 3. If anyone other than Atlanta jumps in we get pushed back a slot.

He IS impressive although I would rather see him play close enough to the basket to get ALL the rebounds. I would not be unhappy taking him with the fifth pick at all. It's a nice draft and Porter is the only one of the top guys that would make me unhappy with the fifth pick.

I don't get why people put so much value on him. 5 years ago yeah, but now, not so much.

I really like JJJ too and agree that unless we get lucky and move up he will be gone when we pick. That leaves Bamba, Young, and Porter of the 2nd tier. If management isn't really high on any of them I wouldn't be disappointed if we traded our pick to the Clips for 12, 13, and a future 1st and grabbed SGA and Robert Williams.

Would you trade Isaac and a top 7 protected 2019 pick for Trae? I know a lot of people are very high on Isaac but I have concerns about how much he will actually be able to play. Wouldn't it be great to get 2 top 5 picks and grab Young and JJJ or Bamba?

Add in: 6) A willingness to bench players that aren't playing tough D regardless of their salary 7) Doesn't sub out/in 5 guys at a time 8) A willingness to leave the "hot hand" on the floor 9) If we happen to draft Trae Young will give him the green light to shoot the long shot. 10) The ability to change game plans in the middle of a game to suit what is happening on the floor

I like SGA lot too and if the guy we want isn't available at our pick I am totally into trading with the Clips for 12, 13 and another goodie of some kind. Take SGA and reach a bit for one of the mid lotto centers and i'm good. On the other hand as far as Bamba, if you look at him solely as the rim protector/rebounder we so badly need any offense we get will be a bonus and we can grab a PG or 2 in the second round. At 6'6 SGA has potential to fit really well with a long defensive team.

Probably more focus on him than anyone in NCAA history. Before they did that he was killing them.

I saw some of those games, he was amazing. Once everyone realized he was such a good shooter they put their best defender(s) on him and made it a lot tougher but he still managed to score a lot of points and get a lot of assists even though his number fell off. My main concern with him after watching those games is that he really sucked on defense against college guys and NBA teams will really T off on him.

I like Young very much and would love to have him but with the draft having all the good bigs in the top 15 or so and several potentially good PGs in the 2nd round with almost no bigs at all I think we need to pick a big with our first pick and get our PG(s) in the 2nd round. I would love to somehow get 2 picks in the top 7 and take Trae AND a big but I don't see the possibility of that happening. I'm really hoping for great bounce of the ping pong balls and grabbing Doncic who I see as potentially the best PG in the league a few years from now.

I love Trae's game and believe he will probably be a great PG in the NBA eventually. As much as I would love to have him I think with the way the draft is laid out the smarter move for us if we don't get a top 2 pick will be to grab JJJ or Bamba with our 1st round pick and address our PG/shooting needs with our 2nd round picks. Although there are several potentially good PGs that will be available in the 2nd round, there really aren't many bigs at all. The other thing is unless Trae is on a team where the coach will let him play his game I'm afraid he will be mediocre at best trying to play within a system. Now if only management can pull off a miracle and somehow use some combination of our 2nds, future firsts, Vuc, Fournier, Mack, Ross, etc. to get us another top 7 pick then I would take the chance with Trae along with the mentioned bigs.

Instead of a head coach we need a secretary on the bench with a laptop so we can all coach through the forum. For practice we need a shooting coach and a defensive training coach. Problem solved!

Trade our 2 seconds for SGA, Carter, Carr, Okobo. Bamba and SGA would be a great draft! Look at the height in this lineup: SGA Mario Isaac AG Bamba It wouldn't work right away because we'd need more scoring but that sure is a tall athletic squad!~ I'd love to trade Vuc & Fournier for some more decent picks in this draft!

Too much because we are not ready to go for it all yet! If we were ready to compete I'd say where do we sign but we need to draft wisely here to build our future.

I have him at 5-7 with Doncic, Ayton, JJJ, and Bagley all going before him. At 5 we should be able to choose between Bamba, Porter, and Young. This is very true, there are a lot of good PGs in the 2nd round compared to very few bigs. As much as I love Trae, the smart move would probably be to grab Bamba with our 1st and 2 PGs with our 2nd round picks and let them play it out.

Hey as bad as we have been it can't get any worse. You take a chance on a draft pick, high risk, high reward, right? Why not take the same chance on Stackhouse? We need major changes. I'd love to get Stan back but other than him who are we gonna get that everyone is gonna love? I'll be happy with any coach the benches guys that don't play D regardless of their salary, doesn't sub in entire squads, and lets the guy with the hot hand stay on the floor. Also if we draft Young we need a coach that will let him play his game. He will not do well and will be a wasted pick if we don't give him the green light to shoot those bombs. If I were coach I would have Young shoot hundreds of long shots during practice and have everyone on the team learn where the ball rebounds to when he misses.

The thing is there are so many other players that although they may not shoot quite as well from 3 can do a lot of other things a big slow guy can't do. In college playing against smaller guys you can get away with it but against pros he'll be an end of bench guy.
