I sorta posted this before Dwight said he would stay: Bynum has a team option for next year Dwight for Bynum and Barnes (his D in the playoffs would really help) Other than Dwight no C can come close to guarding him. He has better O than Dwight, he's bigger, makes more FTs, and can block shots almost as good. Give him a crash course on or inside out game and plug him into our team. If it doesn't work or he gets injured we exercise our TO in the summer. If it does work we get 2 consecutive runs at the chip before we have to decide to resign him. We may be very surprised how well he plays without Kobe and Gasol.

If Dwight doesn't commit to 2012-2013 TODAY we trade him TODAY for Bynum straight up if need be. Give Bynum a crash course on our inside out offense and continue our quest for the championship with the rest of the team intact or whatever upgrades we can make without taking on worn out vets. I believe we also still have the vet's min. and a TPE? In spite of his injury history Bynum is by far the 2nd best center in the league and nobody can defend him except Dwight. He may excel even more without Kobe and Gasol. His contract is a team option for 2012-2013 so if he doesn't work out or gets injured we let him walk... if he does work out we make another run next year with our team intact except a different center. Bynum is a beast and we should not discount the possibility that we will be almost as good (maybe better with made free throws at crunch time). I haven't heard of any teams changing the flow of the game with a hack a Bynum game plan! TODAY is the day... make Dwight commit or trade him for Bynum! We will be in much better shape than if we just let Dwight walk in July. We could also SnT Bynum in the summer as another option!

Joleh, IMO once D12 realizes it's Nets and fishing in June or Lakers and playoffs he'll extend. Plus I lived in LA from 76-93 and got to enjoy the SHOWTIME years. LA will always be my 2nd favorite so I really want Dwight to go there and play with Kobe. I don't think there will ever be another team like the Magic-Kareem-Worthy Lakers, Bird-McHale-Parrish Celtics, and MJ-Pippen Bulls teams from that period. There weren't any Prima Donnas controlling management back then.

I want Dwight to retire with us.... but Alex needs to man up and tell Dwight that unless he commits right now to extending the only smart business move is to trade him to the Lakers. If Dwight won't commit you trade him for Bynum, give him a quick course on our inside out game, and continue on our quest for the championship this year. Even though Bynum is an injury risk he's still the 2nd best center, he's huge, has an offensive game, and can protect the middle. Bynum expires soon enough that if he doesn't work out we let HIM walk, and at that time we'll have cap space for a great FA market. The Lakers will have to match salaries and we can have some leverage because we can threaten to trade him elsewhere. A 3 team deal with somebody giving us some good players and we dump Duhon and get a better back-up PG. Matt Barnes's D would look good in the playoffs and he expires soon as well. If Dwight ends up in LA he will probably stay so NJ gets stuck with 137 container loads of Dwight NJ Nets shirts... Dwight wins, LA Wins, We win, NJ loses big time! If we let Dwight stay until the end of the season he gets to walk into a very good situation and we get nothing. Dwight wins, Nets win, Nets sell their 137 containers of Dwight shirts, and we get the shaft! I don't buy the "I wanna stay story" unless he publicly rescinded his trade request and I missed that on TV. He continuously told the media all season that nothing has changed and now he's saying he's been telling the Magic he wants to stay for the last 3 weeks? I smell BS!

I for one totally respect your ability for gathering facts regardless of how you preset them LOL One thing that can't show in the stats though is how many of Monta Chucker's misses is Dwight going to be able to clean up and put back and as someone mentioned would his stats be better with another player drawing a lot of the D? Another question DOM.. do you think the MAGIC will be better with Reddick, Anderson and whoever we can get for Dwight or with Dwight, Monta, and whatever we have left?

Now I'm almost thinking we might get to keep Ryan if this deal goes down :D Yay!

I Don't know if I'm reading this right or not but it could read that the Magic have teamed up with Milwaukee and the only way Bogut is going to GSW is if they deal with us on Monta... we may get off easier than we thought and get Monta and SJax. Hornets need to get cut out and we need to focus on helping GSW get Bogut and we get SJax as part of the deal!

And their choice of our rookies as well. We also have a $4M TPE that maybe can get worked in somehow and give each team $3M and the GSW give $3M to the BUX and, and ,and.... whatever we gotta do now is the time to go all in or fold!

Yeah Turk, JRich and picks need to go to the Bux and they send Bogut to GSW and SJax to us to seal the deal!

Someone said that we haven't made any changes, but we made a VERY BIG change by putting Alex in the driver's seat. IMO Alex is the right person to be steering at this point in time and will do a great job filling in for Otis while we patiently look for his replacement over the summer. IMO no matter what happens by Thursday and in the playoffs Ortis is going to be retired.

+1 three3d! I am a MAGIC fan above any individual player but I have to agree I like the way JJ has progressed and it is indeed time to start him with Wafer backing him up for 10-15min, move JRich to the 3 and Hedo as 6th man. IMO Clark is bringing more to the table than Baby did in the recent past so I'd consider splitting the backup 4&5 minutes between them. Clark brings a lot of hustle and the more minutes he gets the more smarts he will pick up. IMO Wafer can be a great 2/3 backup if we play him enough to learn the system better and could be an X factor come playoff time.

I like the way these squads have been playing today... maybe we should start JRich at the 3,Hedo off the bench and give Clarke most of Baby's minutes.

I have a feeling that Otis is just a scout for trades and that Alex will have the final say on anything that happens. Alex seems pretty intelligent and it's obvious enough that Otis's last trades didn't go well for us. .. thank GOD the FO stopped the NJ deal that Otis would have signed off on.

Trade Baby for him

I've seen many players touch refs in a game without even getting a tech... I don't remember the player but about a month ago a player rubbed the ref's head and didn't get a tech?

I love Dwight on our team as much as the next fan but I'm a MAGIC fan 1st! If we can't get any good pieces to convince him to stay then trading him is our only option to becoming a better team. Dwight, Turk, Baby, Duhon and Otis for the best deal we can get!

IMO at this point all Otis can do is field and make the calls... I don't ownership will let him make anymore bonehead moves before he goes without their blessing.
