My personal opinion I would do Gortat (better than Lopez) and a huge TPE for Dwight but we also need to get rid of some bad contracts. They owe us for taking Hedo back also!

I kinda wonder how some those "Hall of Fame" coaches would have done without the stacked rosters. Guys like Pops are the ones that impress me the most by taking teams that don't look that good on paper and adjusting to the times and putting a good game plan that suits the talents of the roster year after year. Larry Brown taking the pistons to the championships without a superstar is another example.

How would everybody feel if the Nets swapped out Lopez for Gortat? A Suns fan suggested that on the Nets Forum. We would get Gortat, expirings, and picks

I wonder if anybody has asked Dwight once it becomes impossible to go to Brooklyn what s plan B?

What the Nets need to do is trade Lopez to Houston (who needs a starting 5) for the newbies and picks they were offering for Dwight then flip them to us for the package they were offering minus Walton and Lopez... done deal!

I still think we should send Dwight and Duhon to the desert for Gortat and a big TPE. We get the hammer back and cap space too!

Maybe if the Nets back out of the Atlanta deal and offer us the scraps and picks they were sending in addition to the picks they have already offered us we would have something to talk about? How about Green, Morrow, and a boatload of picks and they can send the other garbage to other teams to get us more picks. From the packages I have seen- Lopez kills one deal and Lopez and Walton make another one even worse!

First off we could not possibly in our right minds sign Anderson to the $ he got and I think Good Job Rob did well getting us something out of it! 2nd- have we heard anywhere from the Magic management that they covet Lopez, or is it just writers with an agenda trying to rush us into a bad deal before the deadline so Dwight/Nets get their way? I read a report not long ago that said the Magic were in no hurry to trade Dwight? I'd rather gift Dwight to a team than take back a bad package... how about Dwight to the desert for Gortat and a big TPE?

I'm no cap wizard but DOM is, and if he's laughing we should all laugh with him. I'm guessing the CBA says that only half of he S&T player's salary counts unless it's after December (15th?) None of us is as smart as Good Job Rob (except maybe DOM) but if we are all in agreement that a trade is garbage then someone smarter than us should think so as well. I can't imagine the Nets trade going through unless they find another team to take Lopez and send us a Marc Gasol or Kevin Love. The Nets keep preaching Lopez is so good so why don't they just keep him instead of giving away everything they possibly can to get him in the Dwight offer?

When we were good he would have played 8-10 minutes behind Dwight. With Dwight gone he could possibly start.

It's turrible to have everything in 1 thread... if you are away for 8 hours there is 50 pages of BS to wade through to find out that one of the posters loves tacos and another one scored 2 points at his local Y and nothing else happened. Maybe we could have a mod only thread where nothing is posted except actual facts?

I agree... that thread grows by too many pages to weed through looking for anything newsworthy. If you miss 8 hours there are 50 pages of mostly people BSing with each other. We need a thread for just the facts with no comments on them. I'm probably breaking rules by posting this in multiple threads but everyone needs to know how they can voice their opinion on the Nets trade to the brass.

It doesn't really matter what any of the reporters think, feel, or think they know. The only important thing is how Good Job Rob plays the hand he has been dealt. I've heard reports that if we don't get Bynum that Dwight won't get traded. I've heard reports that there is absolutely no way that he would take Lopez in a deal for Dwight. I've heard the Laker deal will happen by Tuesday. All of thoise could easily be wrong! The Thunder made it to the finals without a decent center. If Good Job Rob can get us solid on the 1-4 and use the guys we just got at the 5... who knows. So far all we have seen Good Job Rob do is get us a back-up C for 1.5 million of the 8 million we S&T Anderson for instead of getting nothing, re-sign Meer at a decent contract, and extend JJ. In my book he's batting 1,000 and the reports that I AM going to trust are the ones that say that he won't trade Dwight in a hurry just to make a deal.

The 1st pick of the 2017 draft probably isn't even in high school yet... the next LBJ could be sooner than a lot of us think.

From the small sample size he looks very comfortable shooting the long ball and very powerful inside in traffic. If he can play the 4, hit 3s, rebound, cut hard for passes and play some decent D it cuts the pressure to re-sign Ryno to a big contract.

That's a real easy fix... we are all confused as to why he still has the same agent and "people" if they are the ones responsible for putting him in these awkward situations. If he fires them and re-signs I don't think the fans will be upset with him anymore... but he needs to do it soon so Good Job Rob can still have time get to work on putting some supportive talent around him.

Dwight made it very clear that having a contract has no bearing on being vocal on wanting to be traded. If we sign him to an extension that doesn't fix the bridges he torched with his team-mates, the organization as a whole, and the fans. What is there to make anybody believe that if he signs a new contract that we aren't just going to repeat the same garbage again? The one team he pushed so hard for for a trade to is basically out of the running to trade for him or sign him next year. If I was in his shoes the moment I realized that dream is over I would be begging forgiveness and vowing to extend for as long as I could... barring that happening in the next few days I see him in purple and gold within a week. The team can't hang in limbo through the summer when it needs to be focused on trades and signings that will either enhance the team with Dwight, or without Dwight. I don't think Good Job Rob has the patience to take Otis's place in the Dwightmare. I don't think keeping Dwight until the end of the season and seeing what happens is even an option. IMO if Dwght could keep his mouth shut and make his free throws he would be the best player in the NBA. With neither of those 2 points being true it's time for Dwight to step up or step out.

Congrats on the new job DOM, but it sounds like you'll have to train them a bit!
