I had heard that the 2011 picks, a rookie, Martin for Dwight and bad contracts was on the table. Hennigan was too new at his job (and hadn't talked to Dwight yet) to take it... is that not true?

Nobody has mentioned the point that Bynum could be traded at the deadline as a huge expiring that can play which is better than keeping Pau for a year and flipping him next year. I still think it's Houston in the wings with 2 picks (including Raptors), 2 rookies, and Martin for Dwight, JRich, and Duhon.

No all the talk means is that we are still listening to offers and probably will still be until a deal gets done. I'm guessing that after the 26th when Houston's rookies are ripe we'll have more serious talks with Morey. Dwight, Duhon, JRich for 2 rookies, 2 picks (incl Toronto 1st), and Martin works for me.

What date are the Houston rookies able to be traded?

I would almost bet that Hennigan HAS received a good offer from Houston and we are just on hold waiting for the rookies to ripen before we can announce the deal :D 2 rookies, 2 picks, Martin for Dwight, JRich, and Duhon. Then watch for Hennigan to flip a few a big or 2 for a backup/sign a FA/or D-League PG and we are off to the races!

I'm sure that there isn't a player in the league that doesn't realize that Brokenfoot's contract is way too big for what he brings to the table and that Brooklyn traded away their best assets in the Atlanta trade and their best pick for Crash. Brooklyn no longer has the cap space to take back bad contracts and the contracts that they do have that they can trade are all over paid. If Hennigan wanted to deal with Brooklyn he could have done it before they re-signed Lopez to that horrible contract. It's one thing to trade a player where he wants to go but it is not reality at the sacrifice of your franchise. Unless Lopez learns how to get 10 or more RBs a game his contract will be unmovable IMO. I think we'll see Houston give us Martin, 2 rookies, and 2 1sts and take Dwight and either JRich or Duhon. I will come back and quote myself later this month.

I AGREE 100%! IMO our deal is with Houston and when the rookies are ripe we'll get our deal done. For all we know Good Job Rob and Morey have already worked out the details and are just watching the clock?

If we kept Dwight this season it would be totally contrary to building a team of team players that want to grow together and become champions. Our new team will be bigger than "I"

I'm thinking that once Houston's rookies come into play we'll be able to get a deal done shortly. Dwight Howard has already established himself as a rare talent. How could any team say that they wouldn't include an unproven rookie in a deal for the best big man in the NBA? I'm guessing the deal will come down to 2-3 good rookies of our choice, 2-3 picks, and a big expiring contract for Dwight, JRich, and either Turk or Duhon. IMO Martin, Motiejunas, White, and maybe Lamb or Jones with the Toronto pick and a future 1st should have Dwight in Houston.

Me too, although I would really like to see Dwight on the Rockets more than the Lakeshow... but whatever deal gets rid of the most and brings back the best is the way to go.

I seem to like all the Rockets fans that have visited and I also hope they get Dwight. It must be the weather there, kinda like ours here in central Florida. Makes for happy people :D

I think unless Brokenfoot comes out this year and puts up 20/12 he will be considered unmovable at the contract they gave him... I mean what the *****?

No, not what I had in mind at all... if we are going into a rebuild we need a young center that we can develop on a cheap contract. On the other hand Bynum is on his least year and we can play him out and see if he's what we want to build around or we can: A - let him walk B - trade him at the deadline C - sign him to a new contract Ebanks is worth looking at and Ish might be perfect on a team that the coach is dedicated to player development :D

Dwight is a cancer to the Orlando Magic and bringing him into the locker room is like asking the doctor "can you please give me cancer?" He's already thrown the whole team under the bus with "get me a new team" so we need to exactly do that... get him on another team! We need to wait it out like Good Job Rob has been doing and then take the best deal we can get before camp starts unless Houston comes back to us with the package we want. As far as bad contracts Hedo can be brought off the bench and bought out next year, JRich would probably be quite effective off the bench, Davis is an asset, QRich is acceptable off the bench, so really the only toxic contract as I see it is Duhon... who should never wear a Magic jersey again. We need a good back-up to Meer We need a good starting 3 We need a true center If we can get any of these, get rid of Duhon and maybe 1 of our other contracts, get some picks and a few rookies of our choice, get Martin's expiring deal and have a successful cancer operation we will be in good shape to move ahead!

I meant on the team at the start of camp. Imagine if between our 2 new bigs and Davis we are able to effectively shut down the middle and turn all the other teams into jump shooters... wouldn't that be something?
