Help Keep Dwight Secure in Orlando - StayDwight.com
Da Blues Man replied to StayDwight.com's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
According to his bio, Ryan's favorite pro basketball player is Vince Carter. I like his idea, but I suspect that greed and recognition are behind this more than anything. In fact, according to the bio, Orlando is in a tie with Dallas for his favorite basketball team. He absolutely worships Mark Cuban. Check it out. www.totka.com/bio.html -
Official Gamethread: ORLANDO at Atlanta 8PM
Da Blues Man replied to VCplusD12's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Bottom line. Atlanta is not that good, and we are not that bad. We win the next 3 games, and then we put a serious smack down on Chicago. After that, I gotta cross my fingers. Just my opinion. -
Miami Heat #58. Cleveland Cavaliers #59. What's wrong with this picture? Amazing.

Gamethread: Magic vs. Hawks - GAME ONE

Agreed, and if we still had Lewis he would be sitting on the end of the bench right now with a suit and tie on. -
Did you really say that JJ didn't play much?

Those were both monster dunks. He looked like a man amongst boys. I like the mean Dwight. As Alice Cooper once said: "No more Mr. Nice Guy!" I'm really starting to feel better about the playoffs. It almost gives me the shivers.

I feel bad for the fans who will not be able to see the best Magic player, too. In regards to Henderson, when Richardson smacked him in the face and he just stood there, well that pretty much convinced me that there are no balls in his sack. He's got a big mouth, but nothing to back it up with.

Magic GM welcomes PG controversy involving Gil
Da Blues Man replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I am so disappointed in Arenas that it makes me wanna poop. I will have to admit that when the trade went down, I was all for it because Rashard was just going through the motions and seemed to be bringing the team down. Also, we needed another point guard and had Ryan Anderson to fill in for Rashard. At least Ryan hustles. All I can say now is that I hope Gilbert & Otis have made an under the table deal for the last year on his contract. If not, Otis may be looking for a job. -
For What It's Worth (Buffalo Springfield). I'm old enough to remember when Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points in a game, attended Woodstock, and spent 2 tours of duty in Viet Nam shortly after that summer of love. Came back to the Chicago area and actually had season tickets for the Bulls during Jordan's stay there. Moved to Florida in 1999 and became a Magic fan. I've followed this forum ever since, although I've had to change my name several times because I'm internet stupid. I have appreciated most of the members on here because irregardless of opinions, we are all Magic fans. I think we're on edge right now because the team that we had such great expectations for this year, is in a bit of a funk. That being said, what say we cut out the crap, and quit taking this forum so damn serious. Some of you people remind me of a small town Topix forum for crying out loud. Bang a Gong, get it on.

Game Thread: Orlando Suns Vs Phoenix Magic

Stern is probably contacting JVG's boss right about now with a threatening email. -
I don't think Stern will ever get over the belittlement that he received from the Magic crowd that night. If he does have to make another appearance, hopefully in the championship series, I will bet a hundred bucks that he'll instruct the Magic not to announce his presence at the game. I'm afraid that the booing will make him sad again. Poor baby.

Portland Trail Blazers @ Orlando Magic

Our point guards really looked good in the first half. Four points and only 6 turnovers. Pathetic. -
If I didn't know better, I'd swear Pec was back on here.

Having read most of the posts by The Truth, I'm convinced he's really Rickey Henderson. -

I no longer have any clue what to expect from this team. Neither do Stan or Dwight, and that's downright scary. That being said, I just hope that Clark gets some PT. We need to see if this young man can help us down the stretch. As poorly as most of the players performed against the Kings, I was really disappointed that Stan didn't throw him into the mix for a few minutes at least. I like his desire. That seems to be lacking right now. -
Parker would love that. He's from Chicago and played college ball at Bradley. He'd have his own fan base.

Potential Bigs We Can Acquire? (Post-Trade Deadline Edition)
Da Blues Man replied to NittanyBuc's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I'd like to see this team stay pat for the rest of the season. I truly believe that Earl can fill in for Dwight quite nicely because of his length and new found muscle. Also, it will only be for limited minutes since it's obvious Dwight will be getting more burn time than ever before. Dwight is an unbelievable athlete, and the extra minutes he's been playing won't wear him down cause he's still a young buck. Earl is better suited for the 4 position, and I'd really like for Stan to alternate him at those two slots. I think this team could gel just the way we are. -
Ken Berger's latest on futures of Howard, Arenas

True, but at least he's hustling his ass off. His shots just aren't dropping like we're used to. -
Ken Berger's latest on futures of Howard, Arenas
Da Blues Man replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
The truth of the matter right now is other than Dwight, Ryan, and JJ, this team is not playing like a contender. Ryan's defense needs work, but I'll accept that for the offense, rebounding, and hustle that he brings. We have 3 point guards who are all playing like crap. Our ball movement that was exciting when the trades were made, is now non existent. Hedo is either trying to play through an injury, or he needs to be drug tested. I suspect marijuana brownies could be the culprit. How in the hell can the loss of Bass be this significant? I truly feel for Stan because he's gotta be struggling to keep his sanity right now. I'm not having any fun watching this team play right now, and it's starting to piss me off. End of rant. -

John Denton: Arenas knee's still an issue
Da Blues Man replied to KandiKane's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I have been waiting for weeks to see someone post this. I'm sure that Dwight has the inside info on Gilbert's "arrangement" with Otis in regards to his contract because they have obviously become good friends in the short period of time that Arenas has been here. The naysayers who are complaining about his contract will be jumping for joy when it comes time to resign Dwight because Otis and Gilbert have already struck a deal to make sure it happens. Book it. -
Rashard was traded for Arenas, but that's where the comparisons end. Both had big ugly contracts. That's it. They don't play the same position. Rashard stunk here this year, and his "star status" wouldn't allow for Anderson to get any minutes. While Rashard was here this year he averaged over 32 minutes a game, averaged 12.2 points, 4.2 RB, .40 BPG, shot .419 from the field and .367 from the 3 PT line. Ryan Anderson has only averaged 19 minutes a game this season (13 less than Rashard) and is averaging 10 points, 4.6 RB, .72 BPG, and is shooting .442 from the field and .401 from the 3 PT line. And for those who seem to think that Rashard is playing great for the Wizards? He's averaging over 38 minutes a game, only scoring 14 pts, and shooting a dismal .340 from the 3 PT line. I am among many who are disappointed in Arenas, but at least we got rid of a player who's production per minutes was horrible.

OK. I was afraid that Jameer had some compromising pics of you and stuffed animal there for awhile. Lebron would be an upgrade to Hedo, but I would have a difficult time cheering for that dude. I'd probably get over it after we won 30 in a row, though.
-
Huh? CP3/DWill? Your loyalty towards Jameer is starting to cloud my appreciation of your knowledge of the game.
