This is the right move... we can still sign him... it just means he wasnt part of the sign and trade deal with Seattle.... We will still try to work that deal...and still try to get darko at a reasonable price, brid rights in tact.... ithink.....

Mods, you can move or lock this if you like, but it does end up coming full circle to the Magic.... But I just wanted to to give a big ups to the Utah Jazz and Derek Fischer. As it is, its nice to see an Organization recognize and appreciate the situation and to act like a class act about it. I commend both parties for doing whats right. Its nice to see in this business that integrity, class, compassion and above all Family..on and off the court still has a place in the league. with that said...Hows our cancer Doc's here?... Fischer says he hasnt ruled out continuing playing, he just needed to be close to his family... If Orlando has the means, and it turns out we do end up needing a reliable proven PG after Seattle gets what they want.. Anybody think that Derek could possibly play a good veteran role model and teacher for our young guys. He seems to fit in this organizations moral stance, and Im thinkin would teach our younger guys, especially at point , some lessons on and off the court. Maybe those b-stards up north of here, you know "that guy"..is there coach now again.... well they owe us a favor, and I think their cancer research up there is one of the nations best..

Yo NYCE. any speculation as to what the pieces that need to come together entail? I keep eyeballing Arroyos contract - and his services are needed out there...... and I wish I could say Tony Battie.. just because his salary is inflated and I really dont think his "vetran leadership" , which amounts to a mediocre 7 pnts / 5 boards on teams that went nowhere... I also understand why Hedo keeps coming up, his salary and duplication of his game and Rashards makes it seem as though he would be a nice fit for Seatle to replace RL, that begs the question of whether they trust their youngs in that role..... but I would like to keep him around, and have him coming off the bench... I guess the real question is what does Seatlle want from us... You think Otis is willing to give them the 1rst rounder as well.. I bet Seattle wants it included..

First of all, I dont see us losing Darko, it is either that the Magic are calling his bluff on his numbers and number of interested teams, or it will be that we do work him into a sign and trade - for us to just outright "lose Darko" right now is just not going to happen. There are several scenarios still out there, and wouldnt go as far to say that Otis is going to just throw all those scenarios out the window. If Darko is no longer in a Magic Uni next season, which I believe he will be, dont think that after all the smart moves we have made that we would be so stupid to just let him walk while getting nuthin from it. For now...hes still in the banner, Hill has essentailly walked off it, and now a "Welcome Shard!"

"Teams were eligible to begin negotiating with free agents yesterday, but contracts won't become official until July 11 when the new salary cap is established." found that in an unrelated article - so It seems to say that the number wont be released until the July 11 signing period begins

and one more thing yall could help me out on here is.....I know we are essentially counting nickles comparitivley here, but is a hold placed at the normal escalated scale on Diener and Kasun as well, until we sign or let them sign elsewhere... It may not seem like a bunch of cash, but every penny counts this offseason.

Nyce/Marley.. Yall seem to have the dime on this... lets say.. no other team makes an offer.. Im guessing that the player has two options at this point.... take the offer the Magic offered or... go play in europe for more cash, but the Magic retain their rights thru this year... is that right? essentially, does this mean that if they want to stay in the NBA, and no ones goes over the top of us.. then they are signed...or is it just an option to sign at that offer? did that even make sense?
