  1. All that he asked of you was to provide one reason that you think Shaw will be a good head coach. He never said Shaw would suck. He didn't try to convince anyone else that Shaw sucks (although that is generally the reason that people have debates). I also have no idea how you could measure someone's ethical code from this thread.

In other words, this is why you are ignorant.

  2. I don't see the infatuation with Shaw on this board. Dude was an assistant in LA for the longest, under the watch of one of the greatest coaches in the game. Then, when that coach decides to hang up the old clipboard, LA brings in a coach who's best known for running the play "give the ball to our star player then get out of the way. Don't worry about anything else". Seriously. They picked Mike freaking Brown over Shaw. That should tell us all we need to know about Shaw as a coach.

Miami didn't want SVG and we got a coach to bring us to the finals. Organizations are not always right, even championship organizations.

  3. Is this a chicken or the egg scenario? Without Dwight SVG would not be the best coach the Magic have ever seen, and the Magic wouldn't be as good without SVG. Stan said it his self "The key to good coaching is get good players". We forget these players are human, and sometimes no matter how much you want the best of their respectable positions to work together it doesn't work all the time. I've had to deal with some real d bags at work that have almost pushed me away.

  4. If Dwight issues an ultimatum that SVG's coaching staff must be replaced as a pre-requisite to him staying.

    1. Do the Magic execs do it if it means keeping Dwight?

    2. If so, who is the best option to replace SVG? Billy Donovan? j/k

Personally, I think SVG is the best we can do based on what is out there, but if D12 doesn't want to play for him anymore...

We should bring Phil Jackson out of retirement. He said he would like to coach Dwight.

  5. People started asking me about my contract right after we lost even though I have a contract through next season. It’s not like I was thinking about that stuff right away, and really my answer is going to be the same next season: I’m a member of the Magic, I love the Magic and I’m just focused on trying to bring a title to the city of Orlando.

Magic fans in Orlando and everywhere else deserve a championship. Our fans have been so faithful and have always supported everything that I have done in my seven years in the league, and I’d love nothing more than to get this thing right and bring a championship to Orlando next season.

  6. The Magic appear to have a leg up when it comes to signing Murphy outright as a free agent, as it can offer a pro-rated portion of the Bi-Annual Exception; among the teams reportedly interested in Murphy, neither Boston nor Miami can offer as much money. Florida's lack of state income tax also makes Orlando an attractive destination, as does the opportunity to play quality minutes off the bench each night.

  7. Interview with the Polish Hammer.

Orlando was a cell or a good school?

There was a lot of players in the NBA who signed big contracts early in their career, were thrown into deep water and drowned. I experienced a lot of things in Orlando - there were games where I played 20-30 minutes deep in the play-offs, I played in the Finals. In the early seasons I have learned a great deal, I had a great coach who taught me the defensive mentality and on-court discipline. That shaped me as a player and helps me now, also, because I didn't play much I have huge hunger to play. I had a few great games in Phoenix but it is still not even close to being enough. I will murder and kill (wow, exact words) until I get bored (laughs). It's not gonna be soon, because I was sitting and watching for almost 4 years. It's payback time now...

  8. Don't Forget the Magic

Like the Celtics, the Orlando Magic can't fairly be dropped in with the Mavericks and Hawks of the world. This is a championship-caliber team with championship aspirations. Nothing but a ring means success, something only three other teams (the C's, Lakers and Heat) can say with a straight face. With a certain flair for indigence and the best big man in the world, the Magic are The Forget-Me-Nots.

  9. And according to John Rothstein of the MSG Network, the Bulls have already inquired offering up a package that includes Taj Gibson and Luol Deng. That doesn't mean that is the offer, but it means that the Bulls are reportedly offering a deal that includes those two players. Rothstein also reported that the Nets have made a few calls, but any trade discussions with Denver aren't including Brook Lopez. Smart move there by the Nets.

Those are just two of the teams reportedly interested in Anthony though. We've heard the Kings, the Warriors, the Hornets, the Timberwolves, the Knicks, the Magic and the Rockets all pop up as well along with the Nets and Bulls.
