http://www.9news.com/sports/article.aspx?storyid=148567&catid=295 Check out the comments on this article from Denver news... looks like some fans are ready to ship him out! Wish it was up to them (as long as he ended up here of course)!

First picture of Daniel Orton in Magic jersey

Reminds me of John Amaechi :(
  4. Not confirmed 100%, but there are two large Allied moving trucks along with U-hauls all backed up to loading areas, doors, etc. at RDV Sportsplex near where the players park and the practice court.. I think it is safe to say that the Magic are loading up and shipping out from RDV to head to their new digs downtown. All of the ticket sale staff are staying but everyone under Otis and the basketball opeations side of things are moving out. Getting a lil more excited each and every day until I can get inside that place for a game... c'mon 10/10/10!!!

Well, for Matt's sake I hope he gets a decent deal somewhere.. I think he deserves more than the Vet Min.. It would be a shame if he opted out of a deal to try and get more money and actually end up getting Less than if he just would have stayed here..

We shall see.. Good Luck Barnes, and thanks for opting out so we could upgrade the depth at the 3 (and maybe the 2)for about the same money..

    Ownership Perspective

    I think you mean "perspective"?
  11. zollman1

    Rev?

Given the history of "insider" information thus far during this offseason, I'm saving what sanity I have left and just waiting for the official word on Friday or whenever the Magic's decision is announced (regarding JJ).. Same thing goes for any other move we may or may not make. Too taxing on the brain to read through all of these threads hoping to find some kind of credible evidence of a pending deal that is going to land us guranteed rings for years to come.. lol

Magic going in for Chris Paul

Might have already been posted: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5358312 On Monday, James made a surprise appearance with New Orleans guard Chris Paul and played a few full-court games at Rhodes Arena on the first day at Nike Skills Academy. The two-time MVP might go to the afternoon or evening sessions.

Magic going in for Chris Paul

Just noticed that there are 465 people lurking or posting on the boards right now.. 350+ are visitors.. I wonder what it will be if and when news breaks on a deal.. I'm about to leave the office to head home, I'm sure the news will break in about 15 mins while I am on the road!!

Magic going in for Chris Paul

quote: Originally posted by TheRevTy:The Paul trade has been talked about since the trade deadline. That being said, I believe CP3 is BYC until June 30th, so there's that. Also, I highly doubt the Hobo will return. As has been said, he chanced into some very solid info, but it was kind of a one and done type thing. Ahh, I must have missed the thread where it said he got lucky with that info and was one and done.. I'm at RDV all of the time, and I am poking around and chatting various Magic employess to see if they have any internal rumors floating around there at HQ..

    Ladies and gentlemen...

The ONLY realistic "big name FA" we will possibly get is Boozer. Mark it down folks, and don't get your hopes up. I finally agree with Jareth on something...and we ain't gettin' Boozer either...we ain't got nothing on this roster other teams want. As Jareth said...don't get your hopes up... My money is on Otis pulling something off, he has to.. Can't wait to see how it all unfolds

    Ladies and gentlemen...

I was just thinking yesterday that this offseason is so CRUCIAL, and it isn't one where we just sit back and make a tweak or two with the Roster.. There is TOO MUCH that could change in the league based on potential free agent movement for us to be confident that our current Roster could remain competitive or remain one of the Big 4 teams in the league.. What if two big names go to Miami to join D Wade, or Lebron and Bosh go to New York, or something like that.. we have to be able to deal with a worst case scenario where an Eastern Conference monster emerges from the bushes.. We are waiting on Boston to fade, so we can shine, and we can't let someone else skip us in line Even though we don't have the cap space, Otis HAS to be doing exactly what Rev described. This offseason will make or break his Legacy and Vision for the Magic. Otis has to put on his ultimate poker face and pull something out of his you know what, or I think the offseason will be a failure. The Time is Now! The new Amway Center opens up in October and Mr. Devos doesn't have much time left... Otis has to make sure he puts a product on the floor that everyone has unwavering confidence in.. I cannot wait to see what he is able to pull off! GO MAGIC!!

    Magic likely to sign BOOZER..

Why can't your friend "work at RDV" or be from Orlando instead of Greenland? lol

    Magic likely to sign BOOZER..

    Oh boy..
  22. Was listening to Mike and Mike on XM this morning for the first time, and they had Dick Vitale on... he was talking about how he think's this is the Magic's year and the two main reasons why is a healthy Jameer Nelson and the addition of Vince Carter.. One of the Mike's wasn't so sure, and is thinking we might have issues in the ECF bc we haven't played anybody yet.. there was more to it that just that, but just wanted to pass it along.. I know it is just another talking head's opinion, but it is good to read and hear good things about the Magic this morning after the second sweep of the post-season. Its been hard to get REALLY excited thus far b/c of our domination and lack of any real close games.. but now that we are sitting here waiting on Boston or Cleveland... The ECF excitement is starting to build, and I cannot wait to see our Magic UNLEASH the FURY on a formidable opponent. LETS GO MAGIC!!!

  24. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/...gicsweepgame4-100510 ATLANTA -- We interrupt the brewing Kobe versus LeBron storyline potentially awaiting us in the conference finals to bring you this important bulletin: The Orlando Magic are putting together one of the most dominant late-season runs in history, and perhaps it's time we started paying attention. Monday's 98-84 win over Atlanta in Game 4 didn't just put the finishing touches on a laughably one-sided four-game sweep, or keep the Magic's playoff record a perfect 8-0 against two overmatched teams. No, this goes much deeper. Orlando is on a torrid hot streak and nobody seems to have noticed. Want to guess the Magic's record in their 30 games since March 1? Would you believe 27-3? Yes, 27-3. That's not a typo. That's their mark in a slate in which 18 of the 30 opponents were playoff teams. And before you dismiss the most recent opposition so easily, remember that the Hawks team they handled so easily won more games than Boston, San Antonio and Portland and as many as Denver and Utah. In fact the Hawks beat all of those teams at least once, as well as the Lakers and Suns, and swept Boston 4-0. So the Magic have beat a lot of good teams. Actually, that's an understatement. They aren't just beating people -- they're killing them. Twenty of the 27 wins have been by double figures, and many were one-sided beatdowns -- such as the wins by 43 and 30 over Atlanta in Games 1 and 3. Monday's win, by a mere 14, barely moved the needle on their average victory margin. See if you can wrap your heads around this one: Orlando has outscored opponents by a whopping 421 points over its past 30 games. To put this in perspective, the Lakers, Suns and Celtics -- who could be the other three teams left standing when the conference finals start next week -- didn't outscore the opposition by 421 points over the entirety of the 82-game regular season, much less in the final 30 games of it. That's an average of 14 points per game, which simply isn't done over long stretches -- nobody else in the NBA had an average margin even half that size during the regular season. This isn't run-of-the-mill good, people. This is blow-your-doors-off, hide-the-women-and-children level domination. The Magic are so good that Stan Van Gundy is in danger of running out of things to worry about. "There were times where we didn't rebound as well as we could," he said after a moment of reflection, "but I thought every time we had a problem and pointed it out our guys made the correction." So, why aren't we talking about the Magic again? For starters, they're not making themselves a very interesting topic because they're winning so easily. Neither the Atlanta nor the Charlotte series enjoyed much TV discussion, because there wasn't anything worth discussing besides "When does this end?" Additionally, they're not a big market. Plus, their best player is a dominating defender but doesn't have the most refined offensive game, so they don't have the type of marketable star like Kobe or LeBron that would suck in casual fans. What they do have, however, is the best team in basketball. There can be no serious doubt about this right now, not with the LeBrons struggling to get past Boston, and not with the Lakers, however recovered they seem, having lost more times in their past 20 games than Orlando has in its past 40.
