Making The Video - Fouls, Flagrant Fouls, Calls and Non Calls
Waltfeld replied to DuhonsEmptyLiquorBottle's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
One thing for those looking for videos where Dwight did not get call, you may also want to find similar plays where flagrant fouls were called for side by side comparison. -
We will have Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony by 2012
Waltfeld replied to Jareth Cutestory's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
If it is true Carmelo will not resign with the Nets thus taking them out of the running. I think the Magic could offer a package on par with what is being offered by other teams. On a side note does anybody find it strange that out of the five teams that were rumored to be on Carmelo's list at the start of this that there has been no word on the Magic involved in any talks with Denver? -
I would call this a very big gamble for the Hornets. They traded their best trade piece and all they got back was Ariza, who is a good role player but I don't think that he will make them a contender. The Hornet's real problem starts at the trade deadline this year because if they are not in title contention the trade demands might come back up and this time they will need a starting PG. At that point The Hornets can still trade Paul and Okafor for young talent/picks/expiring contracts, or gamble the future of the team that they can upgrade the team but if they can’t Paul gets a lot of leverage and teams will not be willing to dish out as much for a possible year or half year rental. In short if The Hornets start off poorly, I like the chances Chris Paul will be playing for The Magic.

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day who has some inside info and repeted what has been said before, that the Magic will make a push for Chris Paul at the deadline and are targeting Wade in the off-season.

Utah In: Pietrus, Bass, Foyle, McGrady. Out: Bozzer, Kirilenko N.O. C.J. & Warriors agree in principal 1-year deal(NBA.com); Strategy update(pg.12)

3rd PG signing critical to Magic(Kennedy, Mass-RealGM)
Waltfeld replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
quote: Originally posted by Catman:It's still looking like Watson. It may drag out more then I thought. The magic are obviously talking to other guys like Jwill (yahoo link in other thread) and more, but the Magic know they need a guy who can start if Jameer gets hurt. I got an email saying a young reporter on RealGM was bashing us saying he has real sources..etc. I do not know the thread, but basically the PM said he verified the smaller deal I was posting on was being discussed. He also was mainly ripping tragicfan, but that makes total sense since tragicfan trolled the forums with complete BS. The agent for CJ did not completely dismiss my rumor from what I read was posted. That being said, it is cool that an up and coming media guy is posting what he hears. In the end everyone is a Magic fan. We just can not all post our sources or they get in trouble and go away. I still believe we can get CJ. It just matters what Otis is willing to give. GSW may want to do a trade where we send a player or pick to them for CJ and then have to send some of the TPE to them for ANOTHER player (like the VC Ryno deal). That is the main issue. I am pretty sure that Otis just wants CJ and would send some of the TPE for him. We can not afford to take on another player right now. So it is a wait to see what teams will offer more value to GSW. Also, I believe the hobo is correct and Foyle will be our 3rd C. Catman who do the GSW want from us and who do they want us to take back? Also who do you think has more leverage right now? -
I've been seeing you guys around town

Therefore, as long as someone has experienced the mediocre and bad years then they are immune from bandwagon status. I did not become a fan until the last year Brian Hill was coach the 2nd time around but have done my best to watch every Magic game once I became a fan. So does that make me a bandwagon fan or a real Magic Fan? -
I think this with everything else proves no one knows what the Magic are going to do. But I would not mind getting Nate for the right price.

quote: Originally posted by echo4papa:So, just to summarize: Nelson - Barely a top 20 PG Lee - Think's he is white and can't hit a layup Hedo - a jack of all trades, but master of none, and plays zero defense Lewis - Out matched at the PF, overpaid for what he brings to the team Howard - the elephant in the room, not nearly as good as people think, and never will be. Pietrus - Injury prone and non consistant JJ - Just sucks Gortat - Hasn't shown improvements in the past two seasons and think's he is starter material Battie - the new Garrity Alston - headcase, can't hit an open shot, don't even get me started on his tear drop runner Maybe one year we will make it out of the first round, but if we want to ever make it to the finals, we should blow this team up and start over. That is about right.
