Yeah, but I'm more concern with Suggs, though. It's year 3 and we haven't seen no improvement on the offensive end. I never really watched him at Gonzaga, outside of the National Championship. I just brought in to the hype from all the draftniks, and boy were they wrong. The kid is the SG version of Isaac Okoro. Hopefully, he can turn it around, but like I said, it's year 3, so this might just be who he is. At this point, we're lucky if he turns into Marcus Smart.
As for Black, the kid has a natural feel for the game. Extremely raw, but has loads of potential. He seems to make the right play all the time. Needs to work on his shot and tighten up his ball handling, though.
Suggs offensive game has been the biggest disappointment so far this season. I never seen a guard get his pocket picked in open court more than him. The game just hasn't slowed down for him, and it's year 3 and that's a problem.

Hawkins went for 31 tonight.
This is the type of floor spacer we need around Paolo and Franz. The Pelican can draft their ass off.
-
Lively would've been a good pick for us at 11. I like Jett, but Lively adds an element that we've lacked since D12. The Mavs got a steal. The addition of Lively and Williams this off-season makes them a threat in the west. Tanking paid off for them last season.

You can say that about the whole team in the 2nd half.

Suggs has no bag whatsoever.

This. Cole and Suggs think there at LA Fitness playing pick up.

The "yes sir" say it all. Look like Paolo was putting in work on the World Team. Ant, Paolo and Franz would form the best young big 3 since the 2010s OKC team.

Well, you should try watching the game before you comment, because the kid balled out. Knocked down the open shots, played great defense and made some really nice passes. He looked WAY better than Wallace did in his first start, too.
Also, he looked more poised than Cole and Suggs, too. Those two can get outta control, whereas Black let the game come to him. The moment isn't too big for the kid. I liked the kid coming out of the draft. I thought he was the best player in the Maui Tournament (back to back 25 point game), and was clearly the best player UConn faced on their Championship run.
Now, we need Jett to bump Ingles outta the rotation. Kelly Oubre would of been a much better fit, too. The Sixers are paying him under $3 million. Bargain!

Dude can be green as hell at times. He needs a good OC.

You know you're allowed to have more than one defensive specialist on your team, right? Isaac is a 4/5, Black is a 1/2 and occasionally the 3. The two have nothing to do with one another. Like I said, he's more of a threat to our other guards. Fultz is in a contract year, and Suggs will be eligible for a rookie extension this summer. Black gives AP and Welt a little leverage if they can't get nothing done with those guys.

For what? AB is more of a threat to Fultz and Suggs than Isaac.

Suggs needs to toned it down a bit. The guy plays reckless, careless basketball. The rook looks WAY better than him.
-
The rook is putting on a masterclass for Cole and Suggs. Showing them how you run the floor when you have a guy like Paolo.

1 hour ago, All Eyes On Me said:I just don’t think his skillset fits our starting 5. Paolo and Franz should be primary ballhandlers and distributors and we need a guy at the “1” who can stay on the floor and isn’t afraid to shoot a jump shot.
Franz and Paolo both have shaky handle at this point, especially Franz. I mean look at all the turnovers we have when they are the primary ball handlers. Also, Franz seems to force thing and play too much hero ball for me to play that role. He hardly looks for his teammates, unless it's his brother.

True. If Suggs and Cole had his poised and IQ, they would both be borderline All Stars.
The kid just has a natural feel for the game. I loved the pick when it was made, and love it even more now.
Now, we just need Jett to take Ingles spot in the rotation and will be set.
-
These guys gotta start hitting their shots. The shooting has really been the main issue with this franchise since the SVG era.
Also, I say they give Ingles another 3-5 games before I turn to Jett.
-
This team lack of shooting is depressing. It's hard to watch this team in half court sets. I feel we would've been better off signing Becky Hammon. Moses' a helluva defensive coordinator, but he's in over his head as a HC.
Also, Weltman seat should at least be warm because he been here for a while now, and we still have the same needs every year.
I'm excited about Parker, though. Hopefully he has final say on some of the decision making.

Look how we got the Rocket fans after one game:
-
I was impressed by the Lively kid last night. I know we were really high on him before the draft. He's a perfect fit for Luka. Reminds me of Tyson Chandler.

The spacing with the starting unit is still an issue. Hopefully, Franz and Suggs could shoot close to 40% from 3 this season, to open up the floor for Paolo and Fultz.
Also, Wendell needs to take more shots in the paint. He gets a bit 3 happy. Markelle threw him a nice dime for an open 15 footer, he decided to step back for the three and brick it. I remember his name was brought up to KG, and KG said, "he shoots to many 3s for me" and I couldn't agree more. Don't get me wrong, I like him taking the open 3, but he does get carry away a lot of times.

Relax. Let the kid play first. He was the best player available at our pick. He's pretty raw, being that he just starting playing basketball full-time 3 years ago, but he has a ton of potential.

He would have the same impact. The kid was the clear cut the best shooter in the draft. He could shoot on the move, spot up and off the dribble. Pretty much fits the exact player we need around Paolo and Franz. Paolo is averaging over 7 assists the past three games without a real shooter on the floor with him, imagine how many he'd average if he had a shooter on the floor with him. Hawkins is making life a lot easier for Zion, who is sort of similar to Paolo, with the power game and inconsistent shooting.
Look I love what Suggs brings on the defensive end, but the kid can't shoot or run the offense. His best fit is as a energy guy off the bench. He's a nice running partner for Cole off the bench.
