actually Orlando was intent on drafting Lee with the #22 and dealing with Utah or SAS for their pick to nab Thompson...

Otis was high on Speight, he never mention anything about Thompson. If Speight was available, he would've been a Magic.

he may have taken Speights, but they (he and Dave) were very high on Thompson, Dave followed him to another workout with a different team...sorry you didnt read that in the Sentinel or on FL Today...but, it's legit...I like how you reply to the majority of my posts...makes me feel special...

I redd just about every article about the Magic before the draft, and the only names that kept popping up was Speights, C-Lee, and CDR. If Thompson was on Otis radar, he was listed behind the 3 players listed above, and by the way Otis was looking for a 2nd round pick, not a 1st.

JJ open the floor up for our guys when he's on the court. Redick shots aren't falling, but he's still a threat to opposing teams, with his outside shooting.

I mentioned that before. I'm impressed with Thompson the most. No wonder the Kings scooped him up before his predicted spot in the 20s. He can definitly be a 20/10 guy in his 3rd or 4th year.

Yeah, Thompson game remind me of Antwan Jamison and Al Harrington, his shot is money from the outside. I got to see him play in this summer league out in Jersey, he averaged 35 ppg and 14 rpg a game.

However, if we don't beat Sacramento I think it might be time to start worrying, cuz I really think the Kings are the worst team in the NBA. Kings look like an AAU team. Only dude worth anything is Martin.

You must don't know John Salmons, Jason Thompson and Spencer Hawes.

on a side note, am I the only one thinking that we should let MP come off the bench for a few games? go retro with a Jameer/Bogans/Hedo/Shard/Dwight lineup to start and inject MP/AJ/Battie/Gortat as needed...idk, might be silly, but MP seems to be throwing out starting 5 off track...just until he becomes acclimated...

No way, Kevin Martin will get off to a good start with Bogans guarding him. We got to have MP on K-Mart at the start of the game, hopefully MP won't get into early foul trouble. I don't know why Otis didn't go after Matt Barnes or Gerald Green to help out our bench.

    Kings starting lineup will be

    Beno Udrih

    Kevin Martin

    John Salmons

    Mikki Moore

    Spencer Hawes

only real good news is that they are young and still trying to find their identity and that they are a pretty thin team in terms of quality depth, like us...hoping for a win, but preparing for another disaster...Magic have me with a sad face right now...

The Grizzles were young too, and we seen what happen in that game. The Magic have to play team basketball, and stop thinking that they suppose to win games against certain teams.

    *sigh*

Again, not completely true. Ariza plays Hedo's position.

I agree that C-Lee at least deserves a chance. It's not like ANYONE else, Dwight included, has earned locked in minutes. Hell I'm up for that C-Lee at point guard experiment at this point.

Ariza played alot at the 2 when he was here, he was suppose to start at the 2 last year, but for some reason Stan didn't see him fitting into his system.

Turk always was a good player, he just wasn't getting enough mins early in his career Turk had to play behind Peja, when he was in Sac, and when he was with the Spurs, he got mins and even started half the season for the Spurs in 03-04, but they had him playing out of position at PF, and Brian Hill didn't know how to use Turk.

Group I: The Fluke Rule guys

Usually, I depend on Fluke Rule players to build a quarter of my All-Decline roster, but they're a scarce breed this season. Only four players qualify for the Fluke Rule, rather than the usual six or seven. Of those, one will miss most or all of the season (Brendan Haywood) and another doesn't have a team yet (Bonzi Wells). That leaves me with a two-man Fluke Rule roster.

The Fluke Rule, if you aren't familiar, states that a player who is older than 28, has a Player Efficiency Rating higher than 14 and increased his PER by at least three points from the previous season is 90 percent likely to perform worse the next season. Last season, the rule went 7-for-7 with Jamaal Tinsley, Mikki Moore, Darrell Armstrong, Chucky Atkins, Tim Duncan, Devin Brown and Ruben Patterson.

    Hedo Turkoglu, Magic

Turkoglu was 28 last season; 28-year-old Fluke Rule guys tend to drop off less harshly than their older brethren. In other respects, however, he's a classic Fluke Rule guy -- he'd never played that well before last season, he shot unusually well on long 2-pointers (48.5 percent, compared to 45.1 percent the previous three seasons) and he glided through the 82-game schedule without suffering so much as a hangnail.
