We are stuck with Jameer unless we swap unattractive merchandise with another team. Curry is undersized in every way possible and even less of a PG than Meer. If we're dreaming, what I've seen of Jennings is highly impressive. He's a true PG & natural scorer with sic athleticism. I expect Otis to look long and hard at Maynor & Collison, they fit his mold of player. I will have to agree, Jennings is the best PG in the 09 draft, he remind me of a left-handed Allen Iverson. I think guys like Collison, Price, and Lawson will be available around our pick, but I would love for Patrick Mills to slide down to us.

Look all I'm saying, is that where the Celtics got him at, was a steal, and for you to say he not a great shooter and not a great defender, you have to remember he's a rookie. The kid is 21 year old, and he on a strong veteran team, who absolutely in love with this kid toughness, and Ray Allen has been working with him and Giddens on their jumpshot after practice. The kid fell into a nice situation in Boston, and will be in the league longer than alot of the players drafted before him.

Redick fans so excited, finally getting to see him succeed, then BAM!!! he's off playing in minnisota. Not Minnesota, Lewis. If JJ is going anywhere, please basketball gods, let him come to Cleveland. no. we should trade him somewhere where he'll never play. San Antonio, Boston, or Dallas. Better yet. Trade Bogans and his buddy, Junkie. LOL you dont get it... the point is to rip on JJ. Good Lord. I can read English fluently as a matter of fact. JJ has been ripped on enough the past two years. It's time for Bogans to be escorted right out the door.. Bogans contract come off the book after this season, so we need his contract, so that we can extend Turk contract after this season.

Not to mention he's also got some tendinitis in the knee and ankle. While he seems to be in working order at the present time, there are still concerns about his durability, maturity and his attitude. I personally see him as a lose cannon, watching him explode on that ref early last season and seeing him get into that bout with OJ Mayo, plain ridiculous...outside of all of this, he's not some great basketball player, he's an elite athlete still working on his game, he's not a great jump shooter, hot a great defender, not a great passer, pretty much middle path and mediocre across the board outside of strength, speed and athleticism... just my opinion... You must not watch him at Kansas State, he guarded every opposing team best perimeter players, he was one of the best defender in this draft. Doc Rivers said that he'll play the role left by Posey, along with Tony Allen and Leon Powe.

Walker was consider a lottery pick, before his injury.

A few names to watch: AJ Price Ty Lawson Eric Maynor Darren Collison Lester Hudson Tyrese Rice Curtis Jerrells I'll rather have Patrick Mills over any of them guys on your list. wouldnt be a bad pick but he probably wont enter the draft. Mills stock is at it highest, after his perfomance at the Olympic. I could only see him staying, if he happen to have a bad injury this season.

I'd rather have Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, or Jrue Holiday. I just don't see any of those 4 being available when we pick, since hopefully it will be in the late 20s. Otis can buy another 1st round pick, with the trade exception, from the Dooling trade. Tyreke Evans is more of a SG, than a PG.

Fact: ESPN does not like the Orlando Magic

quote: SportsNation Chad Ford: (1:50 PM ET ) They'll be in the playoffs by default ... who else will really challenge them in their division. Dwight Howard is great. Rashard Lewis is good. Hedo was very good last year, but no one expects him to repeat that. Their guard situation is messy and they're devoid of decent big men coming off the bench. I really feel like this team has been mismanaged for a while. They'll win games because of Howard and Lewis, but I don't see them as a threat to the top four teams in the East. Chad has a point there.

    Are The Magic Contenders? (Kyler)

I think Jameer, has to turn it up this year, he has to prove to Stan that he's capable of being his floor general this year. If Jameer doesn't handle his responsibilty this season, he might be traded in the offseason.
  14. quote: On the eve of the regular season tipping off in the NBA, it's becoming obvious the Orlando Magic are not getting the credit or attention that they rightly earned last season. ESPN's latest power rankings have the Magic as the 13th best team in the league, while Yahoo! users have the Magic ranked 10th best in the league. HOOPSWORLD's rankings have them at six. Now admittedly the front runners in the league are the Celtics and the Lakers, last year's NBA Finals matchup followed closely by the Hornets. The next wave as a consensus is the Cavaliers, the Pistons, the Spurs, and the Rockets and so on. Now this is where the argument comes into play

    Knicks waive Patrick Ewing Jr.

I watched the Knicks game Friday night and this kid can flat out play. He played 9 min and had 7 points and 1 block, and had the garden going crazy with two electrifying dunks, he also shot a three too. Coby Karl was cut by the Lakers.
  17. quote: 4. The Magic trade power forward Brian Cook to the Charlotte Bobcats for Sean May and a Jenny Craig consultant to be named later. I kind of like this trade.
  18. quote: The game of musical players begins Wednesday when the Magic open the season against the Hawks. Currently, they have 14 active players (Mike Wilks on is on the DL), and only 12 chairs on the bench. Jeremy Richardson, a camp invitee who made the team, will not be activated (unless we later learn he's Otis Smith's long-lost cousin.) Down to 13 players, and only 12 chairs. The candidates to be inactive: Rookie shooting guard Courtney Lee, power forward Brian Cook, center Adonal Foyle and center-forward Tony Battie. I think Foyle might be wearing a suit too. 19. The Memphis Grizzlies were in Orlando on Wednesday and of course the fan base for the Magic was abuzz about the status of Javaris Crittenton. Memphis head coach Marc Iavaroni held court with reporters while watching his team workout. Marc was pressed on the "crowded point guard" position and explained that while Javaris may seem like the odd point guard out, that's not how he sees it. "I don't see Javaris Crittenton as a backup point guard," Iavaroni explained suggesting that Crittenton was more of a shooting guard. "We have two point guards. And Marko Jaric is capable and can play point guard." "We're always interested in improving our team. If we found a situation that would help us, we'd look at it." For Crittenton himself he sees the writing on the wall in Memphis and admits it might not work out long term for him in Memphis. "A fresh start is what it's looking like," admits Javaris of a possible trade. "Looking at pre-season, and just how things have been. Maybe things will work out here, you just have to try and be patient." "To be honest with you, I have dealt with it all my life," explained Crittenton of being the under dog. "Even though it may look like a lot of stuff was given, because I was a top high school player and things of that nature. I had to work for things; I had to really put in work to earn my name. Now this is another form of adversity I am dealing with and I have to continue to work hard. Hard work always pays off in the end." http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=10347 edit: limit to four paragraphs

I think Otis is trying to work out a deal, or he waiting for tomorrow roster cuts to see who's out there on the waiver wire.

Strawberry looks good and all, but he's not a PG, and even though his defense is solid, he's got questionable areas outside of the game, his game is really inconsistent, and two teams have let him go now, gotta wonder... I know, it's only a 3rd stringer, but I am willing to bet my paycheck that this 3rd stringer gets significant burn this season... Julius Hodge isn't a PG either, and Hodge has been let go by 5 teams already.

    Houston waives D.J. Strawberry

quote: Originally posted by rtillaree:Von Wafer fool yet another team, lol...DJ would be a good pickup for defense and 3 point shooting as well as the occasional insane dunk, but he's not really a true combo guard because he has no real PG skills, much more of a SG than a PG no matter how much time he gets at 1 slot. I dont ever see him developing as a distributor and floor general...I would still pick him up and play him at the PG spot just for his defense though. Not sure if Otis goes for another combo youth...i'd give him a crack, still like Darius Washington as my first choice though... quote: The Spurs waived former Orlando prep star Darius Washington, but the Magic apparently have no interest. http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sports_magic/2008/10/could-kevin-kru.html
