Breaking News Knicks 2 Get Harington From GS

They didn't rob them blind of anything, but they win another deal. Al Harrington in a D'antoni system should be interesting though. I think it's a even trade for both teams.
  2. quote: Originally posted by Drunk on Mystery: quote: Originally posted by Jareth Cutestory: quote: After dealing Jamal Crawford to the Warriors for Al Harrington, the Knicks are working on a trade that would land Zach Randolph in Dallas. Jerry Stackhouse has expressed a desire to be traded but his contract is half the value of Randolph's deal. Unless another player is thrown into the trade, there is a possibility that the Knicks will recruit a third team to make the Randolph deal work. The Clippers, however, are still hoping to acquire Randolph for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/55584/20081121/randolph_to_dallas/ I guess the Knicks wanted to win a few games before blowing the entire roster up? Actually, what they did was fairly shrewd. Going into this season, they only had about 3 players with any kind of value trade wise: Lee, Chandler, and Crawford, with it being common knowledge that Crawford's raw numbers exaggerated his abilities. By coming out, winning, and playing well they drove up their players' values a good amount. If they can dump Randolph in exchange for, lets say Stackhouse and Diop, they've saved themselves about well over 10m in 2010. I think they'd have to wait til 12/15 to make that trade, but you understand my point. Diop doesn't fit D'Antoni system, nor does his contract fits into Walsh plans.
  3. I think the Knicks will do the trade with the Clippers. Thomas and Mobley would fit into D'Antoni system alot better than Stackhouse.

He is a good addition to this team because he is a good defender and can defend the great SG's of the league...other than that whatever he puts in the hoop is a bonus, for a guy that averages 9 points per game for his career we payed him a lot of money. Was Hedo overpaid when we signed him to an MLE? How did that work out? Exactly, people definitely said that we overpaid Turk back in 2004. I think Hedo will consider between 10-12 mill per year.

I have been on record as saying Bosh, Wade, Anthony, and Lebron will all stay on their current teams. I do not think Lebron playing in New York is going to make him anymore famous than he is now. Now Zach Randolph in LA is a another story. Now Bosh might be the one to leave for a bigger market.

So even if they did trade for him he is not starting over Turk or Lewis or really going to cut into their minutes. I think Don Nelson said he thinks he is a superstar but does not play like one or something like that. I really do not know how you cannot get along with Nellie. He is a talent for sure and the Knicks give up nothing in Malik Rose so for them its a good move. The only small problem I see is taking minutes away from David Lee and Wilson Chandler but D'Antoni can figure that out. D'Antoni was going to move Chandler to the starting SF, when Jeffries returns from his injury.
  10. quote: After toiling in obscurity, struggling to find minutes, while playing for Don Nelson in Golden State for the last five seasons, Mickael Pietrus went to Orlando as a free agent this summer in search of consistent minutes and a chance to win games. With All-Stars Dwight Howard and Rashard Lewis and the winner of the 2008 NBA Most Improved Player Award Hedo Turkoglu already on the roster, Pietrus signed with Orlando following to 2007-08 season with a chance to be a key role player on a Championship contender. "I love playing for the Magic. We have different goals than we did in Golden State," Pietrus said, "which is to get to the championship, and I think we have a great team. For me, just being out there playing the game, coach gives me a lot of confidence and it's all about Coach right now." Pietrus came into the NBA in 2003 as an established star in France and struggled to fit in to Nelson's up-tempo system with the Warriors despite high expectations for the eleventh overall draft pick. http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=10668
  11. quote: This afternoon the Charlotte Bobcats waived two players: Andre Brown and Linton Johnson III. A couple of weeks ago this would have raised no eyebbrows. Teams were cutting their rosters down to the required 15 for the start of the regular season. Now, however, it is more than a little suspisious. There has been plenty of trade talk surrounding the Bobcats, who have made all but public overtures to the New Jersey Nets and the Los Angeles Clippers, and are openly shopping Gerald Wallace in their desire to land a true center to play next to Emeka Okafor. Now they've suddenly waived two players, taking their roster down to 13. Sounds like the Bobcats have a taker, and that in the deal they're getting back more players than they're sending out. According to a couple of well-informed sources the Bobcats have been aggressively working the phone lines as they watch their attendance drop in direct proportion to their winning percentage. It sounds like we could see a huge move made by the Bobcats in the next few hours. http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=10662 I wonder who's the other team

    Trade with the Bulls?

I hope the day is treating you well... lets get into it... The Magic are not likely going to trade JJ for JCritt... as much as it seems to fit, that ship has sailed. What I was told several times, and even as early as two weeks ago... Memphis wants two assets for JCritt... Otis is only willing to spend one... Memphis could lower their price, Otis could decide he has a real need... but today, neither of those seem true. The other side is JCritt is not an upgrade - while I love the guy as a person, his game is a lot more Steve Francis like than anyone in Orlando would be comfortable with. On trading Turk... again, I just do not see it happening, there is too much that he is in that locker room. I really wish I could video tape those guys and how they are, and how much of a central figure he is in the system both on the court and off the court... You remove Hedo from this team, I think they fall apart - there just such an interesting "all for one" thing going on in Orlando, you do not mess with that unless the wheels fall off, which they haven't. I am sticking to this... If Orlando has 13-15 wins at the 20 game mark, this teams stays intact all year. quote: Say the Magic are in the same or close to the same spot in the draft this year and Collison is taken already, do you think Tyler Hansbrough would be a good pick? Steve Kyler: Absolutely not... I know experts are in love with his motor, love his competive desire and all of that... Otis would be very foolish to draft Tyler, he would not fit into what the Magic are doing... This year we are partnering with our friends at DraftExpress on Player Rankings for the draft, and our first Mock Draft is up (/the_draft/FullMockDraft.asp) - we have Orlando selecting Jordan Hill - Junior from Arizona, we also have Samardo Samuels from Louisville on the board around Orlando... I also like Tony Woods from Wake Forest - should be in their reach too. quote: Doc Vince in Manila, Philippines:What's your take if jj redick is traded for either chris quin (miami) or marcus williams (warriors) Steve Kyler: I think neither player makes Orlando a better team... but JJ is also in the dented can bin... he looked solid last night. I think if Stan can find a few more games like that out of JJ is value will go up... then the names get better... Besides...don't we need a back-up point guard that can get after it defensively and break down defenses? With all the crticism Anthony Johnson gets on this board about his lack of athleticism, Crit is a superb athlete! I might add he is 6'5. Interesting though...it could still possibly get done...Memphis is a woeful 3-point shooting team. I think Memphis want to package Critt in a deal. I just don't see them sending Critt out in a trade by himself.

  22. quote: Last week Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard, commonly known as Superman after he wowed the All-Star crowd in New Orleans with his high-flying slam dunk routine, recorded his first career triple-double. Playing against the front court challenged Oklahoma City Thunder, Howard thundered down 30 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 blocks in a 109-92 Magic win. After the game Thunder head coach PJ Carlesimo couldn't help himself. The man who was an assistant under Gregg Popovich watching Tim Duncan win championships called Howard the best big man in the NBA, one of the best players on the planet, and even suggested that he might be the best big man ever. "That's high praise, but he certainly has the ability to be one of the best ever," Magic coach Stan Van Gundy told HOOPSWORLD. "That's a goal that he's working toward and we've told him since we walked in on day one that the standard we want to hold him to is to be the best player in the league. That's obviously a very high standard and we can always find things wrong to make him get better, but Dwight's attitude, particularly this year, has been that he wants to get better and wants to reach that level and wants to be pushed on the things that he's not doing well. He's off to a great start. I'm sure there will be challenges ahead, people will play him a lot of different ways, but he's maturing and he has more poise this season." "I guess you could say he's actually Superman out there," adds Rashard Lewis, who grew up in Houston idolizing Hakeem Olajuwon. "He gave a tremendous effort out on the defensive end that game. He was crawling up the paint getting blocks. I think he had seventy or eighty percent of the blocked shots before half time. Obviously, rebounding the ball well and scoring with the ball well, there was nothing out there that he didn't do. He literally carried us to that win. That's why we had such a big lead early; they just couldn't get any points in the paint. They aren't a very good jump shooting team and they couldn't get a layup because Dwight was there to contest their shot." http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=10648
