  1. If you replace Critt for Lowry, then we got a deal. Crittenton is a combo guard, and we already have Lee filling that spot. Lowry would be the perfect back-up for the Magic.

Those 2 would really help provide energy off the bench once we get healthy. Hakeem Warrick is a career underachiever, and Crit has proven absolutely nothing. I'm not even convinced he's a pg. I'd take Smush Parker over this guy. This trade doesn't make us better. I don't like the idea of Lee being thrust into the back up spot this early in his career. They may very well be career underachiever's but what is Cook? Critt may not be a true point but if he's similar to Keyon then he would be a good addition to our weak bench. Basically we are trading shooting (which we have in spades) for energy guys to help the bench. Lee being put into a back up spot is only temporary till Bogans gets back and it gets him valuable pt early in the year before we get into the playoffs when we may really need him. I don't think the guy is that far off, I think he needs confidence in his shot and that will come in time. Isn't C.Lee similar to Keyon?

  5. quote: Originally posted by Skywise316:Darnit... this is pretty simple. 1. Trade nothing, other than possibly the trade exception we got for Keyon Dooling. 2. Cut Mike Wilks. 3. Sign the best available PG possible for the minimum, or get a PG for that TE. Wanting another PG for the rest of the season is fine... but we aren't loking for anothre Jameer, we're talking about our third point guard. All we need is another Travis Diener!!! This is kindergarden GMing we're talking about here. I think Otis is trying to buy a 1st round pick, with the 3.5 TE. I think are best bet is to sign John Lucus III.

Mateen Cleaves Eddie Gill Keith McLeod Smush Parker Earl Boykins Jeff McInnis Troy Hudson *Technically* Jason Williams Dan Dickau John Lucas Damon Stoudamire Darrell Armstrong Kevin Kruger Jared Jordan Jay Williams Darrick Martin Boykins signed a contract with a team oversea. John Lucus III will be a nice pick-up.

OS - Nelson out at least a week

I say we take a hard look at the PG in the D-League, or we sign John Lucus III.
  8. I bet by the end of the week John Lucus III will be a Magic.
  9. quote: The Clippers would like to move forward with a full complement of players. They'd also like to explore tinkering with their roster, which would feature an abundance of starting-caliber big men in Randolph, Chris Kaman and Marcus Camby. One source said the Clippers are talking to the Charlotte Bobcats about a package that would send Kaman to Charlotte for Jason Richardson. However, another Clippers source said, "Kaman's not out there." http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=3724721

    Stephen Curry is a beast

He scored 39 points in 25 minutes tonight. The kid is a BEAST.
  12. quote: Jim in Orlando, Fla.:Bill, I though the Magic could have beaten the Rockets if Stan weren't trying to showcase/get J.J. some experience. Bogans hurt his wrist, J.J. was tentative to shoot because of earlier misses, why didn't Lee or Pietrus play in the 4th? Bill Ingram: I think the best thing for the Magic long-term is for JJ to get his trade. That said, I think the reason Stan left him in was because he was doing a nice job of attacking the rim and getting to the foul line. That's something he needs to consistently add to his game. Even the best shooters go through dry spells and they still have to find ways to score. quote: Jim in Orlando, Fla.:Hey Bill, what did you think of J.J.'s defense Sat. when he wasn't gaurding Barry? When he got caught in switch situations? When Stan inexplicably put him on T-Mac? Then he started hesitating with open looks. Some Magic fans thought he did well. You? Bill Ingram: Good Morning, and welcome to the chat! I really thought his defense on Barry was stunning!!! Oh, wait . . .Brent hasn't hit a shot all season. Seriously, though, JJ is showing that he deserves to be a part of the rotation - if not in Orlando, somewhere else. His defense isn't as bad as people say and he's learning to help the team in other ways, too. Jim in Orlando, Fla.: Let me put it this way, some guy got thrown out of the game Sat. because he was yelling at Stan constantly to put C. Lee in the game everytime J.J. got beaten to the basket in pic situations. B. Barry was his only decent match-up, agree? quote: Jim in Orlando, Fla.:Let me put it this way, some guy got thrown out of the game Sat. because he was yelling at Stan constantly to put C. Bill Ingram: Courtney is clearly the better defender, but he's tentative with his shot. He's working on that . . .coach has been telling him to shoot the ball more. My gut feeling is we're going to see a lot of JJ until a trade goes down and then it will be all Lee off the bench. quote: How about the play of Jameer Nelson, he has really been stepping up? Do you see a trade coming with Stan van Gundy seeming to play more of the bench players like cook lately? Bill Ingram: I've been seeing a trade coming for months . . .JJ's going to find a new home. Stan told Cook to get in shape and he did, which means he'll get a chance now. And yes - I love Jameer's game. We knew it would come around! http://www.hoopsworld.com/Chat.asp?CHAT_TOPICS_ID=62

Keith Bogans to miss 4-6 weeks (Fractured Thumb)

The Bucks have been playing Bell and Sessions at the 2, so I think this will be a better matchup game for Lee.

Keith Bogans to miss 4-6 weeks (Fractured Thumb)

quote: Magic guard Keith Bogans will be out anywhere from three-to-six weeks after sustaining an avulsion fracture of his thumb in his left hand. He didn't offer too much fantasy value when healthy, but this should mean some extra minutes for J.J. Redick and Courtney Lee off the bench, as they back up Mickael Pietrus and Hedo Turkoglu. 19. quote: Al Harrington wasn't the only Warrior who wanted out of Golden State. Former University of Connecticut point guard Marcus Williams feels that way, too. Following two decent seasons in New Jersey, Williams was hoping for a fresh start and much more playing time after being dealt to the Warriors July 22 for a conditional first-round draft pick. With Monta Ellis out with an ankle injury and Baron Davis gone to the Clippers, Williams seemed in good position to get his wish. But through 11 games, he was scoreless with seven assists in 23 minutes and was behind undrafted rookies C.J. Watson and DeMarcus Nelson in the point guard rotation. Williams's agent, Bill Duffy, said he asked the Warriors to trade his client. "It appeared to be an ideal fit for him over the summer after Baron Davis's absence," Duffy said. "Marcus has not had sustained opportunities. It's not his intention to leave, but it's important that he plays." Harrington got his wish Friday when he was dealt to New York for guard Jamal Crawford. With Crawford expected to start, playing time should be even harder for Williams to get. Duffy acknowledged that the Warriors have been talking to teams about Williams. Golden State executive vice president Chris Mullin believes Williams can still make an impact this season. "To me, he just needs a chance," said Mullin. "We're going to put another scorer [Crawford], sooner or later, on the floor. So we'll need another passer. It's still early. We're just 10 games in. I understand his frustration. There is a lot of situations where it can click." http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/articles/2008/1...nd_so_far/?page=full I think Williams would be a nice addition to our team. What do you guys think?
