This is one of the guy I wanted us to target in 2nd round. He's the ultimate glue guy, a la Bruce Brown.
-
This did my head in. I couldn't understand it, especially with the way Jett was shooting tonight.
-
Well, then looks like it isn't "like fishing in stocked lake". We win both the Pistons and Knicks game if we did a better job on the boards. We made plenty of stop in those two games, but the 2nd and 3rd chance opportunities killed us.
-
That's a foolish thing to say, when both Baker and Wilson have been getting outrebounded the whole summer. They both fumble a bunch of rebounds tonight, which allow NY a bunch of second chance opportunities.
-
Jett should've gotten the ball more in the 2nd half. He was on fire in the 1st half, only for Weatherspoon to dim his light in the 2nd half. The guy is the worst. He's been acting like he's Kobe the whole summer. Black needs to work on his handle and his shot. The rebounds and his floater game was on point, though.
-
Black and Jett play ball the right way, these other guys, though? Horrible.

Sam Vecenie said he spoke to an scout in Vegas and the scout told him Anthony Black performance in the second half of the Pistons game was "the best performance he seen in SL". It's around the 15:35 mark. He also mention some good things about Jett, too.
-
Yeah, the way they constructed their summer league rosters have did no favors for Black, Jett and Houstan. We got a bunch of turnover prone chucker that don't play winning basketball. At least Black and Jett are both taking the right approach, by making the extra pass, and not just chuck in up shots. I feel Weltman needs to do a better job with our "farm system". We get three two-way players this year, hopefully he makes use of them. I mean using our second round pick would've been a good start to that process. We passed on some really good developmental prospects the pass two years. I still tight about us passing on Jaden Hardy last year.

6 wasn't AB ceiling, 5 was. The Jazz and Wizards were both trying to jump in front of us to get Black, but the Pistons were high on Ausar. I knew Black was our guy once I seen that report.
-
AB is the real deal.
-
Weatherspoon and the rest of the second unit are hard to watch.
-
Black looks like a seasoned vet. He's responsible for just about every point.
-
If he can get Green, Porter Jr., and Whitmore to buy in, then Houston will be a problem in a year or two. I kind of wish they didn't sign VanVleet, so Amen could be thrown to the fire. I like his game alot. I believe they had Black higher on their board than Ausar, but I think Amen was higher than Black. The kid a stud.

This.

Shaq had a floor general veteran in Skiles, who made everybody job easier. Paolo had a second year guy in Franz, who was playing out of position, running point for the first 25 games of his career. Franz looked extremely uncomfortable in that role, and his number took a dip during that period, too. If, we had one of Cole or Fultz during that stretch were in the play-in. And as far as how many lottery picks we had on our team, it's irrelevant.
-
It started to change back to Paolo when he put one of Coach K weakest teams on his back, and led them to the Final Four. Something your boy Chet don't know about. Also, Rafael Barlowe had Paolo #1 on his board for the longest.

Herro is nowhere near an all star. The Heat actually got better once he got hurt. It's a reason Portland doesn't want him back in return. His value took a big hit once Miami went on that run without him.
-
Landale just got 4-$32 millions. It's the market, no need to stress yourself.
-
His trade had Black, Suggs and Harris. That's getting fleeced for a return of Herro. Reminds me of the Ibaka trade.
-
You were excited for this weak free agency class? You notice most of the teams (Pistons and Spurs) with cap space basically punted this off-season to maintain cap flexibility for next year. Plus, I think the goal was to add players around Paolo and Franz to continue to allow them to grow, and not guys that would disrupt their development.
-
You'll give up all that just for Herro and his bad contract. Horrible trade.
-
Yeah, I agree. I think Jaxson Hayes is a more realistic option.
-
I think Black was higher on their board than Ausar Thompson. His camp had a nice read that Orlando was his landing spot back when Whitmore was projected as a top 5 pick. I think if Amen would've been available, it would've made their decision a bit more difficult. They went out their way to workout Black after his camp initially declined to workout for Orlando.

The Box and One @TheBoxAndOne_ The Orlando Magic needed a movement shooter next to their young core, and they got it in Jett Howard Incredibly versatile in different off-ball screening actions, as he proved at Michigan. Quick, pristine release. Shot 40% from 3 through 17 games pre-ankle injury Didn't like the pick at first, but starting to come around to really liking it now. Reminds me of a 6'8 version of Jordan Poole. I feel Weltman was looking for a guy that was more than a shooter, and Howard is a scorer/shooter, a las Terrance Ross.

I still think we take Black over Ausar. Blacks' team turned down our workout at first, but I guess management must've told his team we were going to shake the roster up, which made his people felt more comfortable and allowed Black to workout with us. Now, I think the real decision would've been if Amen was available. I agree on Jett Howard. I feel he was their guy all along at 11.
