Lee made me a fan of the Magic. I will continue to be a fan, but this really sucks. Thanks to all of you who supported Courtney. He is a great guy, and I'm sure he will continue to do well.

The Magic should try and get Tyler Hansbrough
magicJones replied to Magic Fan 4 Life's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Hansborough will be better than you think. He isn't going to put up huge offensive numbers, but I could see him getting about 6 or 7 rebounds a game and probably 8 or 9 points. Over time he could develop into a pretty solid player. But he likely won't ever be a go-to power forward. -
That play didn't LOSE the game. The game was lost in overtime. I think an A- is fair.. He is a rookie after all. There is plenty of room for improvement.

and a couple other trades (magic, heat, suns) Trade 1 Trade2

Here is My Trade I realize there is probably no way the Spurs would do this...

Thankyou Magic for making me care about the NBA again! Thankyou for drafting my fellow alumni Courtney Lee, and giving him the opportunity to prove himself. Thankyou SVG for doing things his way in spite of the critics. Thankyou Hedo and Lewis for the clutch shots on the way to the finals. Thankyou Dwight for being a defensive beast. Thankyou Rafer for coming in and leading this team to the finals. Thankyou Otis for assembling this team. Please keep the core together!

Can we really put the blame on the decision to activate Jameer?
magicJones replied to Jameera Nelshon's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
The magic have a solid core. They made it to the finals, just missed a few too many shots. Howard needs to improve his offensive game. Jameer needs to get totally healthy. The rest of the team just needs to keep working on improving. This team can get back to the finals. This experience will help. -
Starter for half the season and he plays good defense.. Now all the sudden he is only getting seven minutes a game? I really thought his defense on Kobe was a big reason for the win in game 3. I know he missed a ridiculously hard shot at the end of game 2 with .6 seconds... Is this the reason Stan has made him sit?? Lee has the ability to score (shooting the 3, and cutting into the lane), and is a good defender. What is the logic of only giving him 7 minutes?

The official "We're-taking-the-next-three" thread

One game at a time... The Magic have to play the best game of the season tomorrow. If they win, they have to play even better in LA (read: no more than 10 turnovers). Forcing a game 7 would be a spectacular feat - I would be very proud of that accomplishment. -
Let me preface this by saying that NBA refs are horribly inconsistent, and typically give the star players more calls than not... but these refs did an okay job (in consideration of how crappy they have done for the entire playoffs). There really isn't much to complain about. The refs called it pretty even, and at the end of the game either team could have won it. Can't really ask for much more than that.

if Dwight hits hit FTs, SVG is a genius... but, he didn't make them. Nelson's poor defense is more at blame than SVG's coaching (imo)
-
It is easy to point fingers at Rafer or SVG after a loss like this.... Thing is, if Dwight hits his Freethrows - SVG would be a genius...

magicJones replied to Osprey's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Dwight is just getting used to playing against other skilled big men. He hasn't really had to deal with that through the first part of the playoffs. I'd say the Magic got more calls in game 3, but that makes up for a LOT of no calls in LA. -
Our Lebron defense on Kobe
magicJones replied to God hates Magic fans's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I'm sure Kobe is tired... but at this point of the season, everyone is tired! The Magic can't rely on the fact that 'kobe is going to be tired' at the end of games. If he is forced to play against good defense for 40 minutes, that is all you can ask for.
