Those are whistled charges right? Flopping really doesn't equate to charges drawn but the attempts to draw them as well. Refs probably grew tired and thus the drop. I would think they are whistled charges and yea I understand that officials swallow their whistle a lot on it as they should, but a lot of times they just call it a block. Regardless it all averages out throughout the league so I think the stats are a pretty good measuring stick.

Searching for forums like ours from other teams

It really is annoying. There are a lot of people who give us Cleveland fans a bad name.

He goes straight up and contests the shot and is pretty **** good at it. hahahahahahahaahahahahahahahaahahaha wait until Dwight comes to town... he will turn into Vareflop again. Book it! http://www.hoopdata.com/boxscores.aspx?team=CLE If you go to each individual game between the Cavs and Magic this year, Varejao has taken a grand total of 2 charges in 4 games. Slightly above his average, but still a lot less than you'd expect from him, especially against Howard. The Magic have taken 7 charges against the Cavs this season while the Cavs have taken 5 from the Magic. Both Gortat and Redick have taken 2 against the Cavs. I don't really mind taking charges so don't think I have an issue with it, I'm just providing ya'll with the facts. Admittedly, Varejao will still do the acting job on an elbow to the face, but at the same time you're supposed to draw the foul regardless if you get elbowed in the face so that really shouldn't matter.
  4. Oh and if you want to dig around that site a little more, the Cavs and Magic both average 1.5 charges per game.

  6. You don't have to believe me but watch tonights game. I can't remember him taking a charge this entire series actually. He realizes he isn't gonna get the call a lot because he is a known flopper.

    Cavs Make Deal For Jamison

I wouldn't jump to conclusions quite yet if I were you. The Cavs were expected to be the favorites to win it all last season and it didn't work out for them. Even if the Cavs do beat the Magic, which I like your chances, they still will probably have to contend with the Lakers and victory against them is anything but assured. I have no idea why I bothered typing out a reasonable response to a internet troll. I need a hobby or something. From everything I've read you are a very good basketball fan. Let me say one thing, I'm a Cavs fan and native Clevelander, and that troll doesn't speak for me. Good luck the rest of the season.
  9. Cavs fan here. I was very surprised at the outcome of tonight's game. I had forgotten Lewis was suspended and had no idea Anderson was hurt. I thought Delonte being out would hurt us, and if the game were close it definitely would have. Finally Mo showed up against the Magic, for the first time in his Cavaliers career. I'd like to say though, my biggest concern in the East is still the Magic, as long as they have the three point shooting capability that they are known for. Every shot that they take I expect to go in, and more often than not I'm right. I'm disappointed that a small market team such as Orlando has so many fans embracing LeBron leaving Cleveland. I can't speak for other Clevelanders, but I hope Howard stays in Orlando for the duration of his career. I would think you guys would understand as Shaq left Orlando in the 90s. About the officiating. I'll be the first to say I think professional sports are rigged. But for as many phantom calls LeBron gets, he has just as many that aren't call that are blatantly obvious. i.e. the drive tonight where he got hacked going up, then got blasted when he got up there, I forget who was guarding him. Yes, Howard doesn't get as many calls as he should, but he, as a superstar in this league, gets a way with a lot. It comes with the territory of being big and strong, just ask Shaq. All in all I think the officiating usually evens out even though the league clearly has some ulterior motives. Just my two cents, I hope someone will agree with me. Good luck the rest of the way and if we meet in the playoffs I hope for another entertaining series.

Anyone blaming the refs is an idiot....

quote: Originally posted by Mr. Burgundy:Anyone who says the refs DIDNT have a part in the cavs win tonight is a idiot! are you kidding me?? the clear path foul?? that put a stop to our run, dwights 5th and 6th fouls, took our best player out who they have no answer for.. come on man, i know you want the game to be fair, but its not and gets more obvious everytime lebron touches the ball. LOL you act like because he's the best player he shouldn't get fouls called. You should be happy the refs let him play very aggressively in game four with five fouls. The fifth foul was clearly a foul, he hacked LeBron's arm. The sixth foul LeBron drove, dwight stepped in and while air born and moving he made contact with LeBron, by definition that's a blocking foul. In the NBA players are rewarded for attacking the hoop, and that's what LeBron did.

    Season is over!

You guys are lucky he hasn't landed one.
  12. Yea as a Cavs fan it's kind of embarrassing that Mo did that, and he deserved to be assessed the technical. I'm sure he didn't appreciate the arm to the head, but it didn't look malignant and even so, you have to be smarter than that, he's lucky.
  13. Maybe you guys should actually watch ESPN and notice the Magic are getting a LOT of credit and recognition instead of blindly bashing the national media.
  14. I also want to say that Midget_Mac, your signature is a piece of art, very nice.
  15. As a Cavs fan I'd like to see the Celtics win as we have had major problems with the Magic this year and in years past. I think the Magic take game 6 but I think the Celtics win in a game 7. One, I think Van Gundy is exactly what Shaq called him, two, it's Boston and that would make sense for the league, and three, the Celtics play to their strengths and the Magic don't.
