Been trying to get into the boards the past hour!!!! Haven't heard news online or anything, but my friend texted me again, and said that def the Paul deal is still on!!!! I'm not joking! I know I said it would happen tonight, but apparently it has something to do with a getting another team involved, but they say it is going to happen, I am NOT making this up! Need to catch up to the threads above.

Amway Arena Board = Knights of the squared table? My friend John is a part of the board that decided the design and implementation of the new arena. They met last month about possible players to come in, and at that time Arenas was being talked about but the board voted no due to his character, then all the Arenas threads popped up. He just texted me, "CP3 to Orlando a done deal. Watch for announcement tonight." I replied and he didn't reply back. I can't say for sure this will happen, but after reading all this, I wanted to pitch in what I heard from him.

Calm down, everyone! No one said anything about Paul replacing Nelson. Did it ever occur to anyone we could be making Nelson as our 6th man??? He'd be perfect for that role. We'd have a pretty great one-two punch at the PG position.

Jameer will be the perfect 6th man if we get Chris Paul!

Great posts, all. I respect Junkie's opinion, but must say that I actually think we will win with Nelson. Nelson has heart. We need a third X-factor in the team. The Boston series we underplayed largely due to poor play from our 2 starters, Lewis and Carter. Carter plays well when we are playing well, but we need him to rise to the occasion when others are not doing well. He takes too many shots away from the other guys and doesn't distribute. Nelson, on the other hand, can rise to the occasion. I like his heart. An ideal player would be a slasher who can also pass. Would love the likes of D. Wade here. The idea of Bosh also excites me if we are ready to put Lewis back as a SF slasher type player. I don't think we are that far away from the trophy, Junkie. Little tweaks here and there. Nelson, I believe, is part of the equation because he is tough and is a proven winner. Plus, he is a good friend of Dwight's. Don't want to do something to piss off Howard.

Nice post. Howard-Bosh-Meer-Lewis (back as a SF), dynasty in the making. Carter may get his groove back after a year with us too ... The bench is always workable ...Otis knows how to get good role players for the team, but the nucleus needs to be great, especially if Lebron and Wade are trying to team up together...

I really wish there was a way to get Dwyane Wade here. Is that even possible? I'm not sure Boozer is the answer for us. SVG had Bass. Should've played him more in the Celtics series. We had the capability to win this year and failed due to poor matchups and lack of heart. VC's lack of flow also didn't help much.

Jerks like Jareth have driven good posters away. Balljunkie always had something good to post on here about updates on the team. Where is he?

Magic are a deep team and utilizes several offensive weapons, so the "wealth" is spread out more. Ideally, this team needs a facilitator to distribute the ball better. More assists leads to more scoring.

It wouldn't take much more of a squad around LeBron and Howard to bring home a few championships and Bosh gives us the same but obviously we could probably offer less and Toronto would take it and run. Wake up Orlando & make something happen! For one, you cannot assume the Magic are not planning on doing something to get a big time contributor to this team. Now, pretend you are a Cavs fan and you have the best player in NBA. Read the above post. You are now the GM of the Cavs. Would you do it? Realistically, I believe Gortat and JJ Redick are the only 2 moveable/tradeable pieces of value. Package those two with Carter (who will be an expiring) may be able to get you someone. The way Lewis is playing and the size of his contract -- you'd be a very stupid GM to pay that type of money when you have all those superstars up for sale this summer.
