or does Adonal Foyle look like a taller, bigger, Darrel Armstrong? Not the way he plays (although both hustled) but his actual face.

Yeah, Orlando is on a two game losing streak and some are ready to sound the alarms, but I am really not concerned with it. I have the utmost confidence in Stan Van Gundy and his ability to manage the Magic; he will get them back on track. There is one aspect though that has concerned me about this Orlando team, and it has been their inability to put teams away. This happened against the Pacers the other night, as Orlando gave up a 73-58 lead in the 3rd quarter to lose the game. Not all their 3rd quarter collapses have resulted in losses, but it has forced the Magic play four full quarters of games, when they could have been resting starters. If Orlando wants to stay in tact for a long playoff run, they must learn to close out games when they have the chance. There are plenty of other times when Orlando has blown a double-digit lead this season. Against Minnesota in the beginning of the year, they blew a 76-62 lead and the Wolves brought the game back to 4 points with just two minutes left. Orlando still won, but the game was much closer than it should have been. The Magic also did the same thing to the Celtics, and while I understand it

Is Rashard Lewis one of the most underrated players in the NBA??
b2theizzo replied to meloanthony6592's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Funny you mention this, because I was fliiping through an old SI on the crapper the other day (sorry for the visual) and i think it was from '05. Anyway, all the players in the league took a poll on who was the msot overated and most underatred player in the NBA. Low and behold, it was Rashard who was considered the most underated by a majority of the league's players. He may never be worth the $118 mill, but his contribution to this team cant be measured in just statistics. His ability to score when we need it, the room he opens up for every other player, the fact that he makes turk the # 3 option (Turk has said that he didnt like being the go to guy on the perimiter last year)and that he is proof that ownership is willing to cash out on this team makes him in my mind not underated because of his contract, but exactly where he needs to be. -
ESPN's Hollinger is sucking up to Otis, Magic now!
b2theizzo replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I never liked Hollinger....my roomate loves him, he's on his jock all the time. Whenever he starts talking Hollinger, I space out. Good job, you can play with statistics, thats nice and all, but how well do you know basketball? Or well do you know about people and chemistry...that's what makes a good sports writer, not twisting and manipulating statistics....still, it is nice to get some credit and you have to admire someone admitting they were wrong. -
Dwight Howard has gone from All-Star to the elite center in the NBA this season

Justifying Lewis Signing - Denton Blog

I made points similar to that in the summer and got slammed by a ton of people when i posted it on realgm.com. Here is what I had... why rashard's worth it I think Im justified here, and I want to go back and said I told you so, but Ima hold off on that one. Denton is a guy that gets it...he understands the team and the game. His insight's are always refreshing and I love his combination of facts, rumors and insight....great job -

Dwight constantly gets hammered inside but because of his size he doesn't get calls much like Shaq in the day. How any magic fan can criticize Dwight is beyond me and quite frankly I am dumbfounded by the timing of this topic. Sorry God Hates...but you got owned. lol, I dont care if people dont agree with me, but he questioned my fanhood

How any magic fan can criticize Dwight is beyond me and quite frankly I am dumbfounded by the timing of this topic. Yeah, the timing is validated because it is going on now...I am as big of a Magic fan as anyone, but I dont think any player is above criticism. And Im not really even critisizing Dwight if you read the entire post you would see that it's not the complaining that bothers me as much as the timing of it...standing and eyeing down the refs when the opponent is running up floor, you cant have that. I think Dwight will learn to pick his battles, but until then, he is defintley hurting his team every time he decides to not run up court. So am I not a Magic fan for critisizing a player? Again, if you read my original post, you'd know that I have the utmost respect for Dwight, but the truth is, he isn't running down the court at times because he is too busy complaining to the refs...if stating the obvious makes me less of a Magic fan, than I guess you have me GHMF

I like the choice for QB. I dont like Dwight at LB, he's too tall for it. I'd put him at TE, imagine him in the endzone. WR, I like Shard and Turk, and Id play Dooling there at times too....boy has hops. On the line both ways, Foyle. I'd put Pat Garrity at DT, he can just do a barell roll every play and try to get in the way of the Oline. Arroyo at safety, and I like Evans there. Meer and Dooling will do CB too
-
I think we conclude this...he is complaining, but justiiably so, because officials arent taking care of him like they should be. However, the problem lies in him complaining when the ball is still in play instead of running back uo court to get back on defense.

I agree with your post. The thing about Lewis is though, he does a lot more than score. Maybe not on defense or on the glass, but with his presence. He opens up the floor for other guys, He allows Turk to relax a little and not be the go to guy on the perimiter. We cant messure Rashard by jsut stats, although Id like to see stroke heat up.

Seriously though, I wouldnt be surprised at all to see a trade. It doesnt make sense though...We want shooters, so why are we trading him? I dont know, but we can probably get something good for him and a few other guys.

Im not sure if this was reported as well and if it was kill the post, but I havent heard anyone say anything about us using the injury exception as well! I didnt get the trade to begin with, and now it just seems stupid. "The Magic used their $2.6 million injury exception --- relief for the season-ending surgery that shelved Tony Battie --- in the deal for Cook and Evans." http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/basketball/magic/...oll=orl_tab01_layout
-
Thats cool, I mean, we got the better of the deal so it was worth the 2.7 mill too...oh, it wasnt. Well, we are hanging on to those expiring contracts so something is still in the works.

Hey guys, after we beat the Celtics on Sunday, I wrote an article calling out the Celtics for their overly agressive play on Dwight. I advocate hard fouls, but I though it was ridiculous...anyways, the article got linked to a Boston blog and they are tearing us up now, here is what one of them had to say. "I came down from Boston for the game and was totally blown away

I know, it make me scratch my head watching fans argue this much when things are going well, i guess hard habbits are hard to break. I know im enjoying every minute of it...in fact, Im going to get my dunkin dounut right now

FANS GAME THREAD - Magic @ Hornets - Nov. 19th
b2theizzo replied to jack daniel 999's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Tonight was a win for the ages, it was a well played game between to great teams. Its too bad Orlando ahs to go to New Orleans tomorrow. I honestly think we get an L here. Im not being negative but the hornets are playing well, it is the trail end of a back to back and it was an emotional and physically demanding win tonight. That being said, if we come out and play with intensity through the whole night tomorrow, we have a decent shot at winning. If we do win tomorrow, than itll be the most impressive win of the season considering the before mentioned aspects -
IIRC, when Orlando aquired SVG from Miami, the Magic was forced to swap 1st round picks with Miami (Orlando lottery protected). Maimi is 1-7, do we still swap or is the trade neglected if we have a better record?

Magic-Cavs Most Watched Game on Sun Sports Since Last Nov (Denton)
b2theizzo replied to Mayhem's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Maybe its because we've been able to watch, what...two games this year? Im sure more and more will watch as the team gets better, but those numbrs are likely infated by Lebron James and the want what you cant have theory....
