  1. This team is starting to remind me a little bit of the Pistons in the early '00s: while the rest of the league was focusing on building offensive teams, the Pistons hyper-focused on defense and tore up the league for almost a decade by breaking from type.

With everyone cloning the Warriors, it could be an interesting idea. Just need to keep the team together for a couple years so they can gel. I'll repeat that for Magic ownership: WE NEED TO KEEP THE PLAYERS TOGETHER FOR MORE THAN THREE DAMN GAMES SO THEY CAN GEL.

  2. This trade is amazing four years ago

Exactly my thought. There had better be a lot of pieces going in around him, because a lot of what he is and was are due precisely to who was playing with him. We don't have a KD or Westbrook on our team.

*I'm agreeing with Jec - somewhere penguins are skating in hell. :D

  3. I would have loved this three to four years ago, but this is not a good trade. Ibaka benefits a LOT from having two of the highest scorers and best three point shooters in the league on his team. I just think this is going to be a mismatch fit where we expect him to be the same kind of player he was in OKC.

If we don't put a lot of pieces around him, this is going to be a Steve Francis-esque move.

  4. I honestly don't see why people are so against Skiles being the coach. He's shown that he can take a team and make them better; that's what we need right now. He never had the roster to make a deep playoff run. The fact that he has a winning record with some of the teams he's coached says something to me. We can always fire him if he doesn't pan out; I don't see what the problem is.

Really this - he took a Chicago team and molded them back into a legitimate threat. I'd say they still have a little of that unselfish, defensive mind that he instilled.

I'd love to have Skiles here.
