    Magic Record - 2007-08 Season

Ok... Here is the actual magic Record and standings in the East: Southeast Division: Washington 49 - 33 Orlando 43 - 39 (win tie breaker over Miami) Miami 43 - 39 Atlanta 39 - 43 East 1. Boston 2. Chicago 3. Washington 4. Detroit 5. Toronto 6. Orlando 7. Miami 8. Cleveland Washington beats Orlando in 1st round. Season Over. Washington has a much better team and far better scorers than the Magic. Magic have no one to stop Agent Zero. Boston will loose in finals to San Antonio, but win it all in 08-09. I'm sorry to be negative but this is just the make-up of our team right now.

Arroyo's contribution with the new system

Hoopsworld.com is saying thay VC will ink a deal with the Magic. Otis has been saying that Darko will be resigned. With that said either VC is taking a HUGE pay cut, which I doubt, or there will be a sign and trade with NJ not including Darko. The Magic will have about $5 mill left after signing Darko. VC will be cost around the $12 0 $15 mill price. The Magic can eat $5 mill which leaves Orlando trading 10 mill back to NJ. The only players I can think of with those contracts are Hedo and Arroyo. As much as I like both players coming off the bench, they would be the ones gone. I personally feel that VC would be a HUGE mistake. Wallace would be the ideal guy I would sign because he is only going to get better, plus he will not cost as much as VC. VC is already a little past his prime and its only down hill for him.

    How About Arroyo's Future now???

Dooling is the one to be traded if he does not opt out. The Spurs would trade for him to back up Tony Parker. Right now they have Vaughn (who once played for the Magic) and Dooling is a huge upgrade over Vaughn. The Magic can not afford to trade Arroyo because he will benefit now from Billy D's offense plus he puts fans in the seats. He showed what he can do when given freedom. All the mistakes the Magic Men did is because of Brian Hill and his leash he had on the players. Nelson/Arroyo should have been feeding the ball into the corner to Darko, and Darko feed Howard the ball inside. Darko can shoot like Sabonis, he just was never given the oppurtunity. Telling Dooling he would be traded will force him to opt out. Then we need to trade Turkoglu for 2 second round picks in this years draft, and trade Garrity and 10 million dollars for a McDonald's Gift Certificate. Now you got enough cap dollars to sign Darko, Lewis, and Wallace. VC would be a HUGE mistake. MagicAtic

    Pietrus could gelp us

Being that we need tons of help in the back court, the Warrious Pietrus might be a good edition for us. Here is an article I found. Basketball News Services: "Basically, it leaves the Warriors in a bind - they'd love to keep all these guys, but financially, it just doesn't work. "It's a financial concern," Nelson continued, "not a love concern." Since Pietrus plays the same position as Richardson and Jackson, he'd likely remain a bench player if he chooses to stay by the Bay - does he want that? "It is hard, but I understand the situation, so it doesn't bother me," he said. "I'm trying to accomplish something - I've been here four years - and I think we really have a chance this year to make the playoffs. When you're half a game behind, you have to be happy. So I'm happy." Between Ellis, Richardson, Jackson, and Barnes, the Warriors will just not have enough playing time to logically warrant giving Pietrus a long-term deal." Pietrus could ne Nick Anderson like for us. All we need to do is find a true PG. Nelson or Arroyo could be used to trade for such a player. The other good edition would be rashard Lewis over VC. I think these 2 players would fit our needs better.

The team we let get away because of Rich Devos

It was the 99/00 season. John Gabriel had made a bunch of trades trying to get enough ending contracts to go after Tim Duncan and Grant Hill. Towards the end of the season the roster looked like this... Ben Wallace Pat Garrity Darrell Armstrong Corey Maggette John Amiechi (however its spelled) Ron Mercer Chauncy Billups Earl Boykins Chuck Atkins The key guys being Maggette, Billups, and Wallace. That summer we went and drafted Mike Miller, Quinten Richardson, and Keyon Dooling. Mike Miller we happen to draft because that year the Magic were lucky enough to stumble upon those players. Wallace, Billups, and Maggette could have been signed for a bargain. That summer we could have still signed TMac and forget Hill. SL for the next 7 years: Wallace Magette TMac Billups (add any player you want here) We would have been NBA champs the year Detroit won. What's happened has happened. The Magic still tell us "Wait 3 years." Its kind of like the Money Pit "How longs will the house be done?" "2 weeks." The truth is the Magic will never be a great team because the owner only wants to make money. He is the new Donald Sterling of the league. He only cares to make the playoffs in the first round. If we truly had a winner like Mark Cuban we would be the Dallas mavericks. I blame him for all the Magic troubles of the last 12 years. I wish he went through with selling the team like he threatened to a few years back. Hey Rich, that threat gave me hope that we could get a owner that wanted to win. FIRE RICH DEVOS!!!!!
