    No adjustments made against Pistons

How in the world you say that those coaches play the same way everytime. I have an advice to you: Next time you sit to see the game, dont look the ball, see the court, see the players moving without the ball, put attention to the help and recovery in defense and look at the way that people defend the pick n roll....for example and then, tell me how those coaches "play the same way"....

    No adjustments made against Pistons

Dont tell me that the game plan was good and adjustments were made, people...our offense got very predictable, the rotation was the same thing all the series long, and tricky lineups were stunned by the scare to risk something and lost it....That is why I admire coaches like Popovich, Phil, Sloan, Scott..they just try a lot of new things in every game, rotate the bench continuosly and try to make things happen with A's under the sleeves.
  3. Dear friend Natmayo: Dont just look only at the big picture, see the details. Read what I wrote and analyze it. Lakers will play with Bynum in the middle right, but Gasol can shoot the middle jumper, run the break and no necessary sleep in the low post, back to the basket. Who are their 4s or PF (Radmanovic, Odom, energetic Turiaf) That the type of game that I'm talking about. Obviously Duncan is not the only 7 footer in San Antonio but how they rotate in playoffs? remember Horry? Does Duncan takes jumper from top of the key? does he finish fast breaks? Pick N Pops shooting banking shots? remembered?... Phoenix grab Shaq right, but how they are using Amare now? shooting middle jumpers too, trying to fill the lanes the way that Marion used to do it. Liberating him from being the post defender and creating space for him to play in front of the basket and create his own shot. Adding to that, Shaq is there because the heights of the West but he is not the primary weapon for them, is for defensive reasons....presence and for a short period of time. When he is not in the game who play the middle, Amare with Diaw at the PF. Small game. Detroit won with Ben in the middle, right!! I think he is 6-9 or 6-10 but how Rasheed was playing the PF, remembered all the treys that he constantly shoot my brother? All the short jumpers that he made? McDyess? That is small game, using the PF around the perimeter too, running the lanes on fast breaks, not just using the post as the only offensive weapon. Memphis and Seattle are rebuilding and for Christ sake dont say that Phoenix system doesnt work because they had been in playoffs, deep in playoffs in recent years. Look at New York, Chicago, Milwaukee, etc that only have PF playing with their back to the basket. I Forgot to mention Boston with Garnett also playing in the perimeter. The only two teams that I favor with two bigs guys down there are Utah (Okur and Boozer) and New Orleans (Chandler and West). And Okur in Utah sometimes takes jumper from the outside. Like the pesimists people said: There is only one winner and the others are loosers if we only evaluate the winner or efficency when the title is in your hand, we are ignorants. Most of the systems are good. Play for .500, .600 is good in a competitive league like the NBA. Like I said not just be a fan, not just be a newspaper analist, go to the basic-coaching eye.
  4. Adding to that, look teams like: Dallas, Phoenix, Lakers, Washington, Orlando, Memphis, Seattle, Golden State, Toronto and others etc....all in the same direction. Detroit won with Rasheed as PF (quickness), San Antonio won with Duncan as the only 7 footer-consistent player. Is an european style of basketball.
  5. You are right!!! I am with you, but, is how basketball is regenerating.....quickness, highlights..commercial!!!
  6. From my standpoint, is a matter of time when Rashard or Hedo become more reliable at the PF position. Obviously they are not a natural PFs. Basketball is in a transition right know. You are seeing more "small basketball" type of teams using one big guys with 4 guards. Also, the centers doesnt need to be 7 footers, with 6-highs are filling those ambitions. If you have a 7 footer, maybe is because he can run or glide in lanes or know how to play squaring/front attack to the basket instead of using posting game. Like I said, its about of time. For now, for me frankly, the only piece missing is a 6-4 consistent shooter and/or an additional PF with offensive skills to come from the bench and give quality 20 mins.
  7. Maybe I dont write to often, but I read your posts everyday. Sometimes I dont understand what do you expect. Last year was the coach, but still made playoffs. This year, one of the best team in the east, and complaints are increasing each day. People, UNDERSTAND!! The Magic are creating a great mixture under a new coach, under a new system and new roles on players....they are not going to win the championship this year, Hello!!!!! maybe in two when the core becomes more used to each other and the offense/defensive systems runs smoothlier. Carlos will be out in the summer and you will miss him, I put my stamp on it. FANS always looks for the smallest details to criticize players but overlooked the things that they do for winning. Carlos was part of a auxiliary operation mode of SVG when your PG-Super Meer was out, and the team compiled a nice 9-2 record. You are always comparing him with 3rd string PGs, but man!! he is more than that and you know it. Put the half of the starting PGs of this league and Arroyo can put his elbows among them...why putting him as a third PG? He is not superman, he is not a superstar, but please recognized that he do his work coming from the bench and also playing as a starter in some streak....please!!!! that denotes a little knowledge of what basketball is all about, dont be just fan. Otis is doing a above average job...he moved his pieces before season start...remember?? All the teams that did trade in last weeks (PHO, LA, DALLAS, CLE etc) did nothing in off season and we DID!!! Why the heck you are always looking for trading people, that hurt chemistry and can create problem during the road to the unique prize.
  8. And...if the trade is made, no matter what can you say, Kurt Thomas can be a great addition to this team. He have defense and above average offense. I prefer Kurt than Wilcox.
  9. I already passed my 30s with some years in my bag related to basketball (playing, coaching, reading etc.) I always scout for a player that mix with my system, that can survive in my way of thinking and my question is: In what Mr. Smith was thinking when he drafted Reddick? Why he doesn't moved in concern of Arroyo in the summer? Sometime Otis shows that he doesnt have a clear direction or philosophy of what he want for the Magic team. For example, Ariza's trade...man SVG was looking for defense!!!! Evans and Cook's defense can't be compared with Ariza. Rashard contract?!?! Lewis is a offensive mind player, he doesnt rebound, he doesnt defend. With all that money, you can get two or three second tier players that can reenergize your franchise. Is a little bit confusing. Go Magic
  10. From my standpoint I see the Magic materializing as contenders for next year, truly. They have been changing their roles, their attention, having new directions with new players in need for knowing each other better in difficult situations without mentioning that the are young and/or still inmature. I pray to the owner to maintain the stance of not trading anyone. The game is based on chemistry and that is all that they need to get into next level. If the GM keep trading players, they wouldnt reach the hype. SVG is a good coach, above-average, and his style can make a big impact to the team in the future. When you play dominoes, you don't crossdown your game when you know that your team have a win in your pocket. "Pacience is a virtue"

Fans Game Thread * Magic - Cavs * Feb. 11th

This is a tired, boring thing to discuss, everybody know that Carlos doesnt have a break in that rotation consistently. Jameer-Dooling are owner-coach's favorites and that will not change. I remember when Carlos committed 6 turnovers against Boston everyone where over him, but Jameer committed 5 last night, where are the trash....? See!!

is arroyo the only one kissing SVG a*s?

I really dont understand you fans....if Arroyo doesnt fit with your system, just trade him. But, when your super-bourneultimatum-PG-Nelson get hurt or ineffective who come to the rescue?? right./..ARROYO!!!!! Maybe his plays doesnt allow you FANS to admire how he run the offense, but, for many people, the system runs better with him. Forget about drive and kicks or lobs to Howard, is about running the point and organize the system. Every player is giving his effort to wins game and Arroyo is part of that. Period!!!!! Arroyo is not the team he is just a part of a team!!!!

Arroyo's contribution with the new system

How about Arroyo and the new system? everyone is talking about the possibility of Arroyo leaving Orlando via trade, but everybody forget about the quick tempo player that Arroyo is. He can contribute big time if the system is fast and with freewill. Good or bad, I dont care, just write about expectations. I have my own idea.

    Puerto Rican lament for Arroyo

Everybody is talking on how Puertorican fans suck about staying alongside of struggling Arroyo but nobody talk about the reverse side. Some "moderators" like FENDI, DAVICIC etc doesnt mention the other side that defend only United State's players. Everybody follow their favorite players, buy jersey, shoes, underwear etc about favorite players with the stamp in their butts that said "Made in the USA". This people are the same that throw trash when Puertorican fans cheers with pride about his representative in the NBA and they are doing the same, how about that? people you are acting like losers.
