HW Article: "Magic Shopping for a Guard"

I think a Vince carter move would be nice and possible if you offered Nets get Battie, Cook, Pietrus Magic get Carter, Najera Both Nets players are locked in for 4 years but Najera contract gets cheaper over the 4 years as other contracts go up. Magic do this because they get a slasher and hometown hero plus an extra banger who can shoot a 3 Nets do it because they get cap relief and a young SG who likes to run the floor.
  3. quote: Originally posted by thagr8wunn:all im sayin is to consider trading him... yeah it aint broke... but how will everyone feel after this year if do not win the championship and if hedo leaves in free agency... everyone is gonna be like man we should have traded him. we have good chemistry with him but its not like we have been depending on him this year as we did last year... remember his shooting hasnt been good and hes been turning over the ball alot... and of course the trade has to make sense... What trade makes sense?? This is my point, trade hedo for what, some younger role players that could be go in a year or so, I am sure SVG loves to develop guys!
  4. Trading Hedo makes no sense whats so ever right now. What would you get in return??? Just starting a thread with Trade Hedo for something now with out giving what you would want in return and explaining how the new players would fit is a thread topic... I might start a thread that says let make a trade .. not sure who... and not sure for what. The fact is the only trade that will take place is a minor one.

    Interview: One on One w/Otis

What no JJ trade question?? I think we need to move him or Bogans for a defensive PF. I also thing the Magic can beat both Clevend and Boston. Clevlend can be beaten the same way we beat Miami and LA. Boston can be beaten by pushing the ball and running the floor which the Magic can do and should do more of.
  6. quote: Contributor Agree with your thought and really don't think that his injury will kill us. But MP played some SF also, so i would like to add an athletic big. Still like to see JJ traded but now that might not happen and Bogans will not be returning this next year
  7. Might be time to look at getting Joe Smith?

Is Gortat taking Tony's spot in the rotation?

I think SVG is just trying to get the old man Tony some rest. He logged alot of minutes when D12 was out.

improbable trade idea(we all have 'em)

Why would Utah want Bogans? Again this a trade that would make sense only for Orlando.

    LOCK DOWN - PIETRUS

Nice move it he does not foul out by the 3Q or turn the ball over. Trust me Pietrus is not the answer, he is a nice pickup but really does not take us to the next level. Here are the issues - He can't move with the ball so you now need Nelson or Hedo to start the offense. We know how that works out! - He gets into foul trouble early and often so the rookie will get playing time - He defense is good but not great but it might be great in the future.

    RealGM Article.

you guys are nuts! You never pass on a starter like Maggs for some backup role players. SVG only uses a 9 man rotations so who care that you backups are from some YMCA league.

[O-Sen] Pietrus to get a call from Otis soon

I like Pietrus but he is not a full MLE guy. I know everyong says he plays defense and can shoot but he is not a guy that gets to the line. IMO i think Maggette is the better all around player in is a full time starter incase we loose Hedo down the road. Pietrus makes more mental mistakes and I see him having trouble passing up a shot. Again I could be wrong. 1st choice Maggette full MLE 2nd choic Pietrus 2/3 MLE K.Brown 1/3 MLE Plus I think Maggette can play really good team defense.

    WHY? Because Lewis/Lux Tax

I agree that Otis has a salary problem but him not getting another draft pick had to do with the fact that SVG only uses a 9 rotations so why pay a guy to sit on the bench?

    NY/ORL draft night trade?

I also think that you can still get Love at the #7 pick so if he is on the board then why not do the clippers trade #7 (love) Maggette #22 (Whoever) Hedo JJ

    NY/ORL draft night trade?

If the Knicks throw Lee in the package now you have a deal. Lee Crawford #6 Hedo Nelson #22 Now your are talking!

    NY/ORL draft night trade?

Intresting trade idea but I don't think this makes the Magic a better team next year. Crawford plays defense like Nelson and loves to shoot the ball. Love would be nice but still would need a year or 2 to make an impact like Hedo. I would have to see who is at 6 before this trade but if your going to trade Hedo then you need to get a player that is going to make an impact this coming season, and I am not sold this trade does that.

    Free Agency, why no talk?H

Most talk won't happen until the draft is over but also because Otis dosen't make any real moves. He seems to be 2 steps behind the other GM's
  20. The Suns and Clippers are reportedly discussing a deal that would send the No. 7 pick and Corey Maggette to Phoenix for the No. 15 selection and Leandro Barbosa, according to ESPN.com. The deal can only be approved if Maggette decides not to opt out of his contract. If he does decide to opt out, he cannot be signed-and-trade until mid-July. ----------------------------------- I thought Maggette opted out but I guess he said that he would do that later. Anyway I don't think Barbosa is that good but it does tell us that if Otis offered Hedo and the 22nd that the clippers might bite and give us Maggette and the 7th pick

    orl/portland trade

Your trading an impact player (Hedo) for role players and the 13th pick?? If your going to trade Hedo I think that there are better deals out there. I am for trading Hedo but not for depth. Also, not sure that there is much different talent in the draft from the 13th pick and 22nd. The fact is there are usally not alot of big trades before the draft.
  23. Trade Hedo, JJ, and 22pick and future 1st pick to LA Clippers for Maggette and 7th pick They are going to loose Maggette anyway and this way they get the SF they have been looking for and home town fan favorite. I like Hedo but in LA he will really still be the go to guy so it is not like we are dumping him. With the 7th pick we take Anthony Randolph which allows D12 to switch out or inside We use our MLE on Petrus Acquire a 2nd round to sure up the bench Let free agents walk Why do this? Hedo is up for a new contract next year and his defense is not great. I think he will have issues at the SG spot SVG loves short rotations and with Petrus coming of the bench with Battie and Dooling we would have a great 8 man rotation With these players we could go small or big and would be very athletic team. We could match up with anyone Lineup C
