I'm not following this thread at all and have no idea who Risacher is, but what a totally weird post.  Guy obviously has some issues.

I hope he doesn't let the door hit him in the tuchus on the way out.

I’m actually okay with the door hitting him in the a— on the way out! Lol!!

  2. I would hate to give up on Fultz, but I definitely would do it for the right move. I’m afraid he is never going to be physically right to live up to his potential. I would be okay bringing him back as a cheaper backup.

I would also prefer not to give up on AB this soon, as I think there is a lot of untapped potential there as well; and I think he has a chance to be very good; but again, for the right move I would consider moving him. I don’t think Houstan has as much potential, but I wouldn’t mind keeping him for another year to see how much more he can grow as a player. He rarely makes mistakes and seems to play decent defensively..

I honestly think we need to move on from Cole once he is not a “poison pill” contract- this summer once the new contract kicks in. He is too much of a black hole, and his BBIQ seems low. Maybe use him as part of a free-agent sign and trade?

If we don’t make a trade at the deadline, then I would like us to move Chuma and/or G Harris to open up a roster spot for another PG. We could possibly elevate Queen to a regular contract and make McClung into a two-way, or vice-versa if there isn’t a better PG to be had. I was surprised we brought back both K Harris and Schofield, and signed Queen to the third two-way; I really thought we needed Mac or another PG with one of those spots.

Edit: I would be okay with releasing K Harris or Schofield to make McClung or another PG our third two-way.

AB is the long-term starter .. hence why we drafted him.. We may tweak something for the deadline but nothing drastic.

Tyus Jones for 2nd round pick or something

Unfortunately, Cole has a “poison pill” contract. I honestly think he is the piece that needs to be moved for a Tyus Jones or Brogdan type player.

    Yeah, Chuma shot is broken.

Chumas problem isn’t that his shot is broken, it’s his confidence that has taken several hits. When he defers, he thinks too much; but when he gets aggressive, and just plays, everything gets going. I would like to see him down in the G-League for a bit to let him be the alpha. His defense the last few games has been outstanding. He played Trae as well as anyone; and remember he is a PF/SF combo trying to guard one of the quickest PG in the league.

Also a shout out to Trevelin Queen. Last night I was hoping Mosley would put him in instead of Cole!

“When someone asks who was the first player to officially put the Orlando Magic on the map, the answer is simple - Shaquille O’Neal,”  - Alex Martins

But it’s supposed to be about what they actually accomplished with the team. I would argue that the Lakers should and the Heat probably should retire his number, but I don’t think we should. I would argue that Dwight did more while he was with the Magic; partly because he was here longer. D12 had a better defensive game, Shaq had a much better offensive game and career.

  6. Franz out for the night, G Harris out for the night, Paolo just rolled an ankle and we’re waiting to hear if he’s done for the night. I feel like part of our injury issues is that everyone plays us very aggressively because they know the refs are not going to call anything but the really egregious fouls. The ONLY guy on our team who gets any respect from the officials is Paolo; but half of them don’t because he is only a second year player.

  7. I’m not really sure why we don’t find AB more in the offense. He seems to make the right cut or the shot. His shot looks okay. He’s over 50% from the field. Yes, he’s 32% from 3, but it looks good most of the time, just slow getting it off. And he moves the ball well. I think other teams ignore him because we do on that end.

Not sure if the TV cameras showed it but JI took 2 or 3 hard falls to the court during his minutes logged …I worriedly gazed at him each time hoping I didn’t see him grabbing at either leg or trying to stretch it etc. …each time he got right back up pronto and jumped right back into the action …hope that’s a good omen.

Right there with you, they did show JI hitting the floor hard at least four times. Each time I winced, concerned that the next injury might be now, but he just kept jumping up. I think that was one of my biggest takeaways, no one was playing carefully to protect themselves, they were just playing.

    Admiral still plays very hard.

    Chuma is still a ?

Queen looks pretty good and will probably beat out Kevon for a spot.

McClung looks very good out there and could be a steal

MCW will be a good mentor for the young ones.

Caleb is still a big ?

Overall if we can stay healthy we have a good shot at beating anybody we play. Here's to a great season!

While I like most of your post, just a couple comments on the sections I quoted. We already have 15 guys under contract for the regular roster, and two of our three 2-way players signed. That leaves us one, 2-way to fill unless we waive someone.

Chuma and Caleb may be on that “bubble” to be waived. I don’t see us waiving either, never mind both. Admiral and Kevon are both on 2-way and cheaper to cut/replace.

I like Mac and Queen, and I think one of them will be our final 2-way contract. My bet is Mac, because he plays PG. If Kelle or Cole is out a few games, Mac can help fill that role, so AB doesn’t have to before he is ready.

MCW will not be around to mentor unless he retires and becomes a player development coach. There is just not a space for him on this roster.

If we waive Chuma, and JI goes down again, can Queen step up? If we look at Mo primarily as a 4, and can fill that role with Ingles/Mo/Admiral/Queen, then Chuma could be expendable. If we waive Caleb, can we fill that role? Again with guys already on the roster, Ingles/Jett/Kevon/Admiral we have decent potential 3/2 backup. Could Queen step into a 3/4 backup role? I don’t see us waiving Chuma or Caleb, but I think we do have options, and that is a good place to be.

ahh ok. I see. I thought there was some crazy story out there…

Team looks confident and our team seems healthy. I am only positive for next season, although unfortunately the east is as strong as probably it has been for 10-20 years or so.

I also have high hopes for Isaac. He seems fully recovered. But it does kinda scare me that the guy wears his own brand shoes. This didn’t work out too good for BBB and i believe they had more funding to develop those shoes. He should focus only on health and wearing the right shoes plays a big part in staying healthy too.

I’m a little surprised that, with all the lower body injuries he has had over the last few years, the team hasn’t put the brakes on him wearing the “off-brand” shoes. As you noted, wearing the right shoes can play a big part in staying healthy. My guess is that one more injury, especially if it is shoe-related, will be the last straw and will get him waived if it is before the rest of his contract is guaranteed.

I’m happy with his limited minutes. The less wear and tear on his body works for the Magic.

My thoughts exactly. Time spent working in a different system, concentrating on position and rebounding and defense while playing limited minutes and less risk of injury is a huge win for us.

I wasn’t disagreeing that someone would be alienated …was disagreeing with your premise that half the fan base was liberals ….especially in this state see the previous link I posted .

Actually, the Magic are based in Central Florida, which is the most liberal section of the state, so it probably is closer to 50/50. The conservative enclaves are in the south, where they are Miami Heat fans, and the Villages, where they root for whatever team is in the state they moved here from.
