Sarcasm, joking, humor.

Does the .5 mean we play a game that goes into 7-8 overtimes and still ends up tied; because neither team has five guys left that can even stand?
-
I know he was on their summer league roster, but if he signed a contract for the season I missed it. Entirely possible though. Edit: Just looked at the team web site, and nothing listed for Curry on either their roster or transaction pages.
-
I wouldn't mind bringing Seth Curry and Maurice Ndour in for camp. They both had good Summer League showings in Vegas and both are free agents at positions of potential need for us.
-
Do you really need to see him play? Only player in league history to average a triple-double for an entire season.
-
Also, sign and trade only works if the free agent is willing to sign to be traded to that team, so they have the power at that point.
-
I meant combined as in, chance one of them is back - not both.
-
I think we keep Harkless, and I think we trade Nicholson, even if it is only for a second round pick.
-
Combined 6 Harkless 8 Nicholson 4

You can't trade "his rights" - you can do a sign and trade as long as he agrees and hasn't signed an offer sheet yet.
-
I don't think we let Harris walk, period. I don't see Henny letting go of an asset without getting a return on that asset. I think it is far more likely that if T12 signs an offer sheet from, say Boston, that we match, and then trade him later. I can't remember the exact rules, if someone has time to check it would be good, but I think it is something like this. If you match an offer sheet on a RFA, you can not trade that player until Dec 15th, or three months, whichever is later; and you can not trade them to the team whose offer you matched for a year (or maybe next July 1st). So, say T12 signs an offer sheet from Boston for 4/60 and we match. We could potentially then trade him Dec 15th to anyone else except Boston (like Detroit).
-
Koufos would probably cost more than the "cap hold" for Tobias' qualifying offer. Say T12's qualifying offer/cap hold is about $6-7M; that leaves us the max level space to offer Millsap; as long as Millsap signs first, we could still match if someone offers T12 $15M, even though that would now put us over the cap. If Millsap accepts the deal, and we then rescind the qualifying offer to T12, we now only have that remaining space under that cap of the $6-7M that was previously "held"
-
I took that to mean that if we get Milsap, other teams might be more likely to make Tobias an offer since we might be less likely to match.
-
Except we don't need another small forward, even another 3/4. We need a backup PG and a PF/C.
-
Younger Backup PG Shane Larkin Jeremy Lin Veteran Backup PG Andre Miller Jameer Nelson CJ Watson I think any of these five can be signed for $2M - $8M per, leaving you $8M - $14M to fill your PF hole. Younger PF Greg Monroe ($14M area) Ed Davis ($4M) Thaddeus Young ($9M) Prime PF LaMarcus Aldridge ($16M area) (we do have some additional cap room, especially if we wave B Gordon before his is guaranteed) Paul Milsap ($14M area) Your 2 for 1 challenge is difficult, as the pieces have to fall into place, but it isn't impossible. It really depends on the direction you want to take, and who is willing to come here. Having said that, I hate the idea of Harris at age 22 walking away with us getting nothing in return. :svgsad:

I actually agree that Green was solid for us, I just am not sure about him as our #3 PG? I think we need to "thin the herd" on the wing first.
-
I actually think we might be selling Tobias short on that; I think he is quite a "team-first" player, and smart enough to realize that he might get better match-ups by being the leader of our bench-brigade.
-
Green is a free agent.
-
I think it is solid, I like the Hezonja pick. I was a little surprised with the Tyler Harvey pick in round two, as we are already a bit heavy at the 2/3 positions. I think the Magic have an option on Ben Gordon for this year, so I would not be surprised if we don't pick up his option; I also think that it doesn't bode well for Harkless' and/or Marble's futures with the team; but we will see. I think we are going to see a lot more moves from the front office between now and training camp.
-
I'm pretty sure that if you match a signed offer sheet on a restricted free agent you can not do it as a sign and trade. You have to wait for a certain date/time (Dec 15th?/90 days) to trade him, and you can't trade him to the team that made the offer you matched.

Opens up a roster space.
-
Let's look at what we have for roster space. We ended the season with 15 guys on the roster - of them 12 are under contract (maybe 11) through at least next season. Tobias Harris is a Restricted Free Agent Kyle O'Quinn is also a RFA Willie Green is unrestricted Ben Gordon - I seem to remember that 2015-16 is a team option, though ESPN does not have him listed on its free agency list. Devyn Marble has a couple years left on a minimum type contract Dwayne Dedmon has a couple years on a minimum type contract as well So, that gives you up to six slots to work with. Assuming you don't bring back Ben Gordon, that opens up the space for your 1st round pick. Who else do you bring back, who else do you let go to make a roster space for a free agent signing?
-
Joe Barry Carroll, Pervis Ellison, Joe Smith, Michael Olowakandi and Kwame Brown say hi as well!
-
If he has not yet signed an offer sheet, and subject to the 4-year/4.5% raise contract limitations.
-
You can't trade him until later in the season if you match an offer sheet to keep him, and even then it can't be to the team that made the offer. Also you can no longer do the LeBron trade you mention; you can't give the 5 year/7.5% raise max contract as part of the sign and trade; it is now limited to the 4 year/4.5% that any team with space can offer.
