  1. I haven't checked this board in months, but man, this place is hilarious after the draft. Jareth, I have no idea how or why you bother putting up with all these reactionary dumbnards/troglodytes/homunculi.

The CEO of a million dollar corporation built from a $35,000.00 initial investment five years ago??? That couldn't be. An industry leader in one of the hottest global industries, in the largest market??? That couldn't be either. An individual with close connections to past and present day Orlando Magic executives??? No way! I would invite a discussion with Otis any day of the week, that could conveniently be broadcast on Youtube for all the kiddies, just so I could pin Otis into a corner and watch him squirm regarding his mismanagement of assets, refusal to precisely & concisely address staffing concerns, and of course have him explain his five year plan (he does have one right?) Shall I go on? Why the obfuscation? PM me the details of this incredible business venture. I'm dying to know. Especially considering I work for a seed capital venture fund.

I will go on record as saying Otis doesnt deserve any credit whatsoever. The team talent was as good or better last year and it was purely the coaches problems/abilities/philosophy that lost countless games for us. SVg could have better used darko than jameer. Rashard while a good player would have had less impact than a motivated darko. Also dwights maturing under a different coach has been another factor. I cant for the life of me see spending more on a 5'10" pg of 26 years than a 22 yr old 7 footer with skills that got him drafted between lebron and carmello and wade. Sure he is a head case but so was rodman...he needed a better coach than brian hill. Otis lucked out when after his waiting....and waiting...he got "left" with Svg instead of billy d. He almost blew that one too. As for the future dilemma otis has left us with....does the 7 year long albatross of grant hill ring a bell....it will soon enough when you figure out his miscalculations and how difficult it will be to correct them. Why do you follow this team if you hate it that much? Can't you find something better to do?

Or, like most other members of this board, are you just speaking out of your arse? Absolutely hilarious. Borderline delusional. Come back to me when you're an NBA GM. And I also remember why I stopped posting here. I forget sometimes. Like I said, I think you're blind to the resumes of the individuals who have played upper management in this organization & organizations throughout professional sports. The reality is that while professional sports has become big business, management remains men in suits playing fantasy. Otis had a few token jobs within the organization prior to becoming GM. That's just a fact. Our current CEO was a VP of a small charitable organization. I would fully support Smack being GM under one condition. He do so using the name Smack Daddy! He would be an instant legend!!! I think we

Ouch. Anyway, Otis has made some bad decisions and some good ones. 52 wins argues that there have been more good than bad. If he makes the right moves this summer, I believe the Magic can be a powerhouse for the next 3-4 years or longer. We shall see.

This despite having no connections, experience, or even a vague familiarity of how running a franchise works. Get a grip. Are you referring to Otis' qualifications prior to signing with RDV? Nope, I'm not talking about a former player that worked his way up. I'm talking about you. And SPED Danny.

Racking up Wins as the Schedule Gets Easier

This thread is entirely too even-handed and reasonable to be taken seriously. Someone needs to interject senseless knee-jerk ramblings post-haste. In fact, I

Where are the two CO-Captains of this team?

Although his range is limited, CG does the finest work on this board. You, sir, get a gold star.

    Fun Free Agent Comparison:

Rashard may be the worst person on the planet. I mean I know we don't do this anymore, but if it were 1692 instead of 2007 and Orlando was Salem? I'd totally burn him as a witch. Alas.

Calderon 17 assists! Otis wake up

LilPenny likes our guards but if we can get this guy.. we're set Good idea...what do you suggest? IIRC he's going to be a free agent after this season, what do I suggest? for Otis to make some "magic" happen, after all 99% of you all think he's a great GM although with this stupid Lewis contract it'll take a miracle to get this and and a decent PF here's to hoping Otis will reverse the trend and surprises us with a good draft for once I guess it takes more than one attempt to get specifics. By asking you what you suggest should be done, I meant just that. Who do you let go? How do you free up room to get him? Give me something here. Jackie, I'm impressed you've managed to stick it out here for 180-odd posts. I'm gonna guess you'll get tired of asking for simple reason and common sense soon enough. Anyway, Calderon is a solid PG whose best attribute is taking care of the ball. We also have no chance in hell to get him. It isn't as though he'd be guaranteed to lead us to the promised land anyway, since he only stops platooning when Ford is injured...but I digress.

I just checked, the sky isn't falling.

Somehow I never figured we'd play .800 ball for the whole season. You're never as good as you look when winning and never as bad as you look when losing. They'll regroup.
  19. Jameer is a middling point guard that got middling money. He's still young, however, and could easily improve with more experience. There's also something to be said for team stability and letting players grow together. Reece should probably just follow one of the 28 teams he thinks have a better PG than Nelson.

Kidding. To each his own, of course.

So who is the best team in the east??

If I had to guess, I'd say the Magic make a strong run in the playoffs this year but lose in the ECF due to a lack of maturity/playoff experience. Setting us up, of course, for a real title run the year after that, and the year after that, and the year after that, etc. etc. etc.
