Though age is a factor and loss of Sheed and T Thbdo but Oneal is no slouch and I thought age was gonna be a factor in post season for them last year and it was experience and mental toughness that won. One of their biggest losses is Tony Allen, he defended all the great wings on the other teams that allen or pierce couldn't stay with.. He also gave carter fits.

You are seriously letting me down here Drunk. The guys dad is a scout for heaven's sake. If he says the man is a good defender, HE'S A GOOD DEFENDER!!!! I'm sorry I'm letting you down. I've just been so busy lately with the new job as CEO of Bank of America I got after it was discovered my dad had a degree in finance law. Bueatiful stuff

Yeah he is a great fit on this team. Good defender, great rebounder and good 3 point shooter. VC has obviously affected team chemistry and we could have moved Shard to the SF. Im sorry but Shard is having a tough enough time with PF'S, How the heck is going to defend the SF Spot when Barnes and pietrus is having their hands full and they are supposed to be our better defender's at the three

quote: Originally posted by T REX:First, the season isn't over so any final evaluation will have to be done then. On the surface, it looks like he may have had too much turnover on the roster, but that is just my opinion. Carter is a huge bust up to this point. We'll have to wait till the end of the season, but it doesn't look good. Its Funny because the people in toronto think the hedo is a huge bust up to this point as well.. just saying!

Vince Carter needs to be traded

Thats usually where the moldy one appears..Hey Moldy..SPEAK LOL
  12. quote: Originally posted by Osprey23:VaBch, the point is not how the Celtics lost, I couldn't give two ****s about who is missing from their roster. The point is, they lost, and that makes things immensely easier on us. Boston losing is ALWAYS a good thing. Preciesly, Same with the Cavs and Hawks, Thats just Magic Fanhood 101
  13. quote: Originally posted by Lewis4thewin:I can only imagine the turmoil on this board if we lost 3 in a row. Hope we dont, because that would probably eliminate us from playoff contention
  14. I also think he needs to get the ball, however when playing teams like Boston, cleveland, and LA, you cant just post him up against the bigger centers, thats when we need to become more of a running team and run those big guys to death. Dwight is real good at running straight down the floor and sealing his man right under the rim, leading to easy scores or fouls. And when we're running we get a lot of wide open threes in transition.Against smaller teams you can just post him up because he can be more effective where they must double team. Playing half court against the top teams plays right in to their hands

    Too much negativity

At the end of the day im sure all the line-up adjustments the we suggest here on this forum is not something that coaches and management are'nt aware of. Im sure every issue is addressed, they see where the're being hurt and what the weakness of the team is, they go over film after games.Alot of the teams issues is just a lack of effort. And each member of the team and coaches just need to Man-up and outwork the other team. We are not going to give up a coach who just got us to the finals!

Otis Smiths worst decision: Losing Cliff Ray

quote: Originally posted by PrematureShooter: quote: Originally posted by bigpimpatl: quote: Originally posted by EnFuego:Trading Ariza is Otis' worst decision by far. na cuz we ended up netting Rafer Alston (via brian cook). was it hockey GM who brought in milicic? Yes it was the hockey GM, but he wanted OKAFOR, It was otis and the other co-GM(sorry forgot his name),that convinced him to take Dwight. I saw the mini documentory on the workouts and how they eventually made the selection. Dwight had their jaws dropping, it was funny Ariza never would have panned out here anyway, and it was the "hockey GM" who drafted Dwight and traded for Meer, btw.

Its simple... teams will go through ups and downs, they will lose games they should of won and win games they should of loss. As a fan you ride the same roller coaster with the team, sometimes you take the ride a little more serious than the actual players. Ofcourse showing your love of the team can cause you to do crazy things.... like posting how much an idiot SVG is after losing a game. But for those who have been on this roller coaster since it was built in 89, we have seen highs and we have sat in the lowest of lows. But through it all, we are still here, still commenting on games, still thinking of match ups, still trying to see Orlando get 1 Championship. Those same ppl help make this board a cool place to come and share our thoughts on our team, and how to make them better . (although our words and thoughts are useless, since we dont get paid to make those decisions) So each day I come on this board to see what the latest news, gossip, and info on our team... because at times this board is better than google. Then there are times when lately the threads that are being created are worst than the tabloids. Great you joined 4 months ago.... Congrats.... Now you post a thread about firing the coach.... ummmmmmm That is just like starting college, skipping 3/4 of it and then going to take the exam to only complain after you failed it.... Were not even to the playoffs yet and ppl are starting the Mass Fires of players who they cant stand.... Look, save your self the finger cramps.... no one is holding a gun to your head.. you can find a new team at any time you want... But please do all of us a favor... and wait to see what happens to this team in the end... I dont know too many ppl who cook beef for 5 sec's and then eat it... usually ppl wait until its fully cooked... So again, this Magic team is not done... its only Jan... we still have plenty of time to get better and ready to win our championship. Patience. Thanks, "E" Thanks, This is TRUE

Poll: Vince should be our offensive leader not Jameer.

quote: Originally posted by T REX:Well what has VC led any team to??? The second round? He's shooting career lows....one game where he shoots 50% is nothing. So which is it? Is he old? Washed up? He has better players around him now then ever before, right? So why isn't he playing better? One out of four games he shows up for. IMHO, the team is based on the three point shot. The players we acquired this past off-season were all shooters. You don't win like that in this league. There is no way this team beats the Cavs or Celtics in the playoffs. VC is way better than Hedo...definitely. But the guys we replaced were greater than their individual talents when placed into the team equation. We got better players but worse chemistry. Then I guess if we had the old team tonight we would have won..GET REAL

The upside is too huge if he by some grace of God could actually stay reasonably healthy. And I think T-Mac and VC getting to play with each other, it would keep them both motivated. Not so much worried about VC, but just T-Mac. There's nothing wrong with acquiring more talent. I mean, How about a bench of Bass or Gortat, Anderson, T-Mac, the newly improved Redick, and J-Will (or draft pick?) next season. Are you kidding me!?! Completely agree, He's made all the money he's goin to make in his career already, If we can get him cheap, why not! I bet Otis is warming up his poker face at the thought of so many guy's wanting to come to O-TOWN

But this team plays good team ball so this is a game we shouldn't take lightly. We should bring out our defense and shutdown all their role players. This should be a win but the Rockets will not just lose easily. Expect this game to be a close one as well. Oh yeah, watch the Battier vs Carter matchup. Magic fans now that's how you play defense. Hand always in the face contesting every shot and taking charges(Battier). I love that guys defense and wish we had him. This team has got to be the most resilient team in the league. They lose the equivalent of D12 and vince and not even flinch. They just play ball no matter who's on the court. However Magic by 10 in a tune up for the Santa Special on Friday

I'm confused, are you talking to yourself? Yes...got no problem admitting I was wrong...in fact with the way J.J. has overcome the obstacles in his professional career to now be contributing on a nightly basis makes his story one in which I can use with children in school. Things like, not quick enough...body is to frail...you're just a shooter but play no defense...you're a spoiled, rich Duke boy who's used to having an offense revolve around him(J.J.). Dude has overcome all these criticisms and now seems to be flourishing. Makes me pull for him all the more...you should have seen me last night yelling for him to, "SHOOT THE BALL"!!! I just know that I wasn't the only guy on these boards that was highly critical of him... Just seems a bit odd, remembering how you went after so many people, and taunted so many JJ fans, to come along and call out OTHER PEOPLE for doubting JJ. I don't know Bro...I haven't gotten into it with J.J.'s fans for a long time now...been giving him his due respect. I seem to remember you along with various other members insulting PEC and many other J.J. fans completely off the boards. And that was just recently...like right before the season started or around that time period. Not calling any names out...they can man-up if they want...I have. Dude people on this board don't man up. They change topics or say oh thats not what I really meant, it's a joke. I knew JJ was a player even though people always bashed me for it, I have always said he was probably the best passer and had the highest basketball IQ on the team. His confidence was shot by this organization and needed time to rebuild and consistent playing time. He is not a Steve Kerr, he can't sit on the bench all game and knock down shots, he needs minutes and shots to be effective. I said at the beginning of the year that VC should be playing less minutes and the numbers prove JJ needs more time on the court. He is also probably the best perimeter defender as well. If everyone on this team played with the same energy as him this team would be unstoppable. I can agree with you on most points, because JJ understands His physical limitations he uses his smarts when playing defense,he playes tight ball denial defense. Most guys because of their athletic abilities tend to relax, and try to make up with their speed and/or length. I think he just a smart player overall. Another thing, Criticism (deserved or not) whether from this board or the media has one of two adverse effects, either you take it to heart and become better or you crumble and end up out of the league. Im proud of JJ for the direction he chose and for the organization for not giving up on him
