Pleasantly surprised with JJ's performance tonight! BIG WIN BOYS! 30-8! LANDMARK!

What excuse will Analysts say now

Just watched S.C., and all the prior claims have stuck....Kobe highlights for the entire segment, and one Jameer finger-roll. This really blows my mind.

    Sunday Morning Perspective

One of the biggest weeks for us as far as I can remember in recent memory. Knocking off 2 previous NBA champions in the past, one after another! We're playing well, finished off a solid road trip, and are actually moving the ball around better. I couldn't be happier about things as of late! Dwight's back (18/10 last night), and I believe with time, Pietrus will slowly get more minutes and get his scoring up. I really wish we could have played Boston last night. I think they're extremely overrated, and with how we're playing, we could have definitely added to their loss column and ended their "streak". (And is it me, or do the Celtics always seem like they play home ALL THE TIME? lol) Now, we have to look forward to G.S. Monday, followed by New Orleans -- tough matches to come, but I think we're up to the challenge. Only good things to look forward to (we hope!)

    huuuuuge win!! LETS GO ORLANDO!
  5. The other people on this forum, what was their reasoning for disliking Jameer Nelson as our starting PG? I'm just curious, because I have a feeling it revolves around all of the issues I stated. And while you probably have a point with me presenting my argument wrong, the basis for it was not. And with all due respect, I've played this game for 16 years, and currently play in college -- I KNOW what the role of a Point Guard is, and I won't be told that my knowledge of that is a "misinterpretation." So honestly, I really don't feel like continuing to go at this with you forever Drunk. So can we let bygons be bygons? Orlando won tonight, and a big part of it was from Jameer. I give him credit, absolutely -- he had a high-scoring game, and really looked a LOT better than Tony tonight. I think Jameer is a good PG, but I just think he can improve areas, THAT'S ALL IM TRYING TO SAY. I just don't want to get off the main goal of this forum: to celebrate Magic, and all they encompass. If i have taken part in anything that has de-railed that train of this forum in this thread, than I truly do apologize. I didn't mean for anything I've said to be taken offensive at all -- I was just trying to state my opinion.

GOOD WIN! Glad about it... let's go L.A.
  7. Well, it's very obvious you will not let up on this until you hear me say you're right so YOU'RE RIGHT DRUNK. YOU'RE 100% CORRECT. Jameer is a great point guard, and we don't need to make any changes to our rotation. Forgive me for not being on the "Jameer is playing great for a string of games" bandwagon. Satisfied?

If they did not shoot how else would they score? Funny lol... maybe by pounding it inside a bit more? not forcing every 3 they get up? Just throwing stuff out here lol

  10. quote: Originally posted by Drunk on Mystery:You've yet to respond to my long form post. Just a few points: a- I NEVER said Jameer should have 10 dimes BECAUSE OF DWIGHT. I said he should get at least 7 each night easy, but I doubt that'll happen because he shoots all the time and turns the ball over too much. b- I never pulled up Devin Harris' stats, I merely gave a single showing he had a few nights ago of dropping 11 dimes, so please get your information right before attacking on the rebuddle. c- About your defense statement, I didn't "ignore" it, I just didn't talk about it because it wasn't part of my main argument. My main point is Jameer shoots too much, turns the ball over too much, and doesn't create ENOUGH for a point guard. I hope none of my comments have been taken as anything but a neutral tone -- I just think we can get someone better that's all. And I know I'm not alone.

Dwight's working the rust off little by little...
  12. Wow. So many pro-Jameer guys here haha. I'm offering to make peace with you guys -- we just have to agree to disagree about our current PG situation. JAMEER IS GOOD. But I guess since I'm a basketball player, and come from an organized background, I've always had a guard who created more, that's all. I hope we win tonight!

Courtney Lee is getting more aggressive, I love it. WE CAN'T LET THIS LEAD UP lol gotta stay poised and consistent. AND GIVE GORTAT MORE MINS lol
  14. Jameer is a shoot-first guard, that's why I would rather start Anthony Johnson.
  15. quote: Originally posted by Jareth Cutestory: quote: Originally posted by NJ_MagicFan: How are you going to sit here and attempt to argue that the best point guards in the NBA do NOT have a main goal to go out each night and rack up assists? Because they don't. They go out and do what it takes to give their team the best chance at winning, whether it be scoring, rebounding, passing, etc. Chris Paul doesn't go out there and go, "Ok, main objective tonight: Get over 10 assists so I can be elite". That's just silly and ignorant. If Paul scoring helps his team win, he'll score. If passing to David West since he's hot helps his team win, he'll pass. Simple as that. I did not state that is the point guard's ONLY objective, I stated the creating opportunities for teammates is their MAIN objective. If you ask anybody with a pulse and Basketball IQ what the point guard's role is, you'll receive similar responses. Why are PG's judged based on their assists per game? We're not talking Chinese Algebra here, guys. And obviously, if Paul scoring helps his team, he'll score -- that's universal among EVERY basketball player who EVER plays the game in ANY position, so that comment and the logic behind it was pointless. A true point guard runs the offense, commands the floor, and creates opportunities to score for teammates. Scoring is not a MAIN objective, but if they have opportunities to, of course they will. I didn't say PG's can't have high-scoring games in their careers, but scoring is a side course to them creating opportunities for teammates and dishing the ball off.
