Al Harrington: "I like the Magic"

Anyone remember that commercial that had the Magic players say what they believed in, and T-Mac said, "I believe in taking a lot of shots."? Not sure why I mentioned that, but anyway, I don't want Harrington unless he plays some defense and isn't a grand chucker.

That was a travel, just like what Rondo does. Drives, takes his 2 steps then stops. Not allowed to do that, but since its not called, I wouldn't mind if Howard started doing that, sure.

yeah, can't wait as well. Well, since yall cannot sleep, does anyone have the link to any articles that rip the Magic? I know they were posted before, just can't find them. I'm talking about articles made a while back. Thanks.

But as far as sports goes, a lot of the time he's clueless. Let me put it this way...the guy has been wanting the Chiefs to sign QB Jeff George (remember that guy?) for a decade and a half now. Even to this day he still half-jokingly claims that George still has a cannon and can play QB. Trust me, just ignore him. His only job is to piss you off. I trust you. The reason why hes been hankering for Jeff George is because they played football together in high school. Makes me wonder if he knows much about the game, or hes beefing up the adoration of his buddy... Anyway, I'm trying to say hes not credible.
  9. Dwight did good today, but Mark Jackson is correct. We can't win by having Dwight our #1 option. Also, why does Vince do one-legged, one hand, fading left with 2 defenders on him jumper with 20 sec remaining on the (shot) clock?
  10. lol, nice Mike Woodson pic. Nice game thread overall. I want to say Magic by 10+, won't be surprised if they (we) lose however.

Seems like their is a defensive award (DPOY) and a offensive award (MVP), which obviously shouldn't be how it works. No... it really isn't arguable. Dikembe's best rebounding year still wasn't as good as Dwight's, and he only went over 13 a year 3x, and Dwight has done it 3x in a row now, and will probably do it for a few more years. Come on man... Dwight averaged 13.2 rebounds a game this season and 12.7 for his career, Mutumbo's average for his first 10 seasons is about 12.5... And anyway, 1 rebound per game isn't too significant. 1 rebound per game isn't significant, but what about the 1 extra point per game Dwight would need to reach 19, the Magic number he needs to be at, according to you, to be considered for MVP? That one ppg is more significant? Yeah, I thought about that. I just said 1 more because he really shouldn't need to be a scorer to be MVP, but with the way it works, he would need to average more. So I scooped it up a point.

I park there all the time, and it takes me a few minutes to get out of the lot and about 10-15 minutes to get back on I-4 EAST. My little street made it on the world wide web! Anyway, for me I am able to walk to games so I can stay till the very end. I have driven there before, however, when going out for dinner after a game. I don't blame people for leaving early considering it takes a long time to get out of the parking lot then getting off the small outlet street. Wish I could have gone to a game this year.

I mean, I like Dwight as much as the next guy but he did not put up a top 3 MVP season. Yeah, his defense was great and deserving of the DPY, but I don't see why you guys think he should move up in his MVP rank this year when he had a arguably better season last year (better offensive season obviously). I know we made roster changed and got better players so we don't need as much of a production from him on that side of the ball, and I know he gets double / triple teamed when he has the ball in his hands so its very difficult to score, but I just don't see how someone could have Dwight in the top 3 when you have LBJ, Durant, Kobe, Carmelo, and Wades that have probably done more for their respected teams. Right now Dwight is putting up Mutumbo numbers, but with a little more scoring and less shots blocked, which is good, but not "great". Anyway, here's my MVP list. 1) James 2) Durant 3) Kobe 4) Wade 5) Howard I think you mean much better rebound, much higher scoring (besides Dikembe's rookie year when he averaged 16.6, he never went over 14), and close to the same blocks. Why do I say that? Because although it's hard to prove it, I honestly believe Howard would average more blocks without the 3second rule. Either way, Howard's presence alone in the offensive end, while DOMINATING the defensive end, puts him up above Kobe, Wade, and Durant. Not enough to put him above LeBron, though. You're probably right about the blocked shot stat, but the rebounding is arguable. I just think that if Dwight wants to get the MVP, he would need to average at least 19 or so ppg. That was the worse call I've ever seen, well besides when Dwight cleanly blocked Lebron's 3 pointer. Who was the call on and what happened? Didn't see the game I don't think.
  19. No. I don't think they should increase the foul limit, instead I think all the NBA officials should sit down this summer and talk about what a foul actually is. They need to learn the difference from a offensive player initiating contact from a defensive player initiating contact. These plays where the offensive player swings his arms under the defenders arms during a jump shot is ridiculous, heck you can't even contest a jump shot anymore because the offensive player will jump into you. You even have players that SLOW down during a FAST break just to try and get a foul call. Even when our own players do this, its still annoying and wish it would be fixed. When we have Dwight putting his hands straight up, sometimes not even jumping, and still being called for a foul is ludicrous. Only one person knows for sure if theirs a 'Stern Conspiracy', but I'm sure the entire league knows that theirs 'Bad Officiating' in the NBA and it needs to be addressed to make the game more viable for the players and fans.

110 points gets everyone a free pizza

Yeah, this year, if the Magic scored 110 pts and won the game, then you would need to go onto the website and put in a password to get 50% off your whole order. The Magic did that a lot this year, got pizza like every other day it seemed. I'm not sure if it counts for playoffs, but it should.

Redick's Endurance Paying Off (NBA.com Link)

Sam Greenwood/NBAE via Getty Images Redick's focus on endurance finally paying off Posted Apr 9 2010 10:47AM On a team that boasts Superman, Orlando's best-conditioned athlete doesn't choose to roll shirtless at almost every camera opportunity. He's also not half-man, half-amazing. The guy that grades out better than Dwight Howard and Vince Carter and any other member of the defending Eastern Conference champs prefers a lower-key approach. Yes, he's probably the Magic's highest-volume consumer of hair gel and handkerchiefs, but that doesn't change the facts. It's J.J. Redick. Really. "It's an athletic game," Redick said. "Being in shape and being able to run is key for me to be on the floor and get minutes." Nice read anyway. Sorry if it was already posted.
