Barnes says team has no heart

By the way, anyone know if this was on PTR or any show? Just wondering. Oh, and UBBALLER8, I think you need to put a picture of Matt Barnes on all 3 passion, intensity, and heart...

Do any Magic player know where is Poland?

Yeah, Marcin's dad used to be a pro boxer in the 70's.

If you need another reason, he did a layup in the dunk contest (strangely I love him for it though). I hope that doesn't count, but anyway, i'll give him a 10/10. Darrel and Bo still my favorite players of all-time.

  6. I was having a discussion with some friends about a few clutch players in the NBA, and it made me wonder how many game winners does Hedo actually have in his career? I know its not really 'Magic' related but thought it would be a pretty simple question. I know of a few, so if their is any more please tell me. The ones I know of are: vs Seattle Sonics, Chicago Bulls, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Portland Trailblazers and most recently Washington Wizards. Almost could've added the Cavs to the list =/ Thats all I could think of and could be all he has.

How many game winners does Hedo Turkoglu have?

Yeah I saw that site but that doesn't show the amount for his career. "So we're looking at five full regular and playoff seasons, with additionally the current 08-09 season so far."

Rate The Orlando Magic Player - Day 1: Shaquille O'Neal

I'll give him a 9.5/10. Top 3 most dominate center ever, even with the Magic.

Magic fans are one of a kinda

Ive been a Magic fan for quite a while as well and have been lurking around these forums for about a year. Yes their are definitely some people here that try to be funny but are not (i always assumed I didn't get it because it was a inside joke or w/e), but there are people that look at the amount of posts you have and figure ur a 'newbie' and try to shut u down or oppose ur opinion... P.S. - Has this become a Newcomers vs Old Timers thread?
  11. Notice when he asked the question, "Who do you like to win it all this season?" The moment Dikembe mentioned Orlando, the guy laughed and changed the question...
  12. Not sure if this has been posted yet. ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Just peeking inside the medicine cabinet these days gives Rashard Lewis chills. He won't even take headache medicine. He won't take anything, really, without approval. Being suspended by the NBA for the first 10 games of this season after testing positive for an elevated level of testosterone has made the Orlando Magic All-Star forward nervous about everything he ingests. "I don't take anything except water now," Lewis said. "I'm scared to even take Advil." http://www.nba.com/2009/news/1....lewis.ap/index.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  13. Ok, ive watched almost every Magic game last couple seasons, and I really have to say that Gortat actually is a better post defender than Dwight. Yeah I know Dwight got Defensive Player of the Year and all, but that was because of his shot blocking and intimidation factor in my opinion. Fans saw his amazing blocks and were over hyped and the media also caught on. But during the finals, Gortat played Gasol perfectly. Dwight on the other hand was outmatched 1v1 against Paul when trying to defend him because Dwight hasn't learned to use his brute strength against taller and lengthy players. Don't get me wrong, I'd take Dwight > Gortat, but I think Dwight is a little bit overrated as a defender, and Gortat is greatly underrated. Marcin was even up their in blocks per 48 min., not to mention rebounds per 48. Offensively, Dwights better, but I agree at the moment that Gortat has better hands. Dwight, for one, catches the ball in the paint, but brings it down to his waist so defenders can easily snatch at it which leads to turnovers, or fouls which could be good if its on their center, but Dwights not the greatest FT shooter... Dwight just needs a couple "automatic-score moves" that he can use. Shaq's is basically back the defender down and do a little hook, which I don't know why Dwight doesn't do that, instead hes doing a running hook which he shoots 30% with. Hes gettin better however. Gortat's offense isn't much. Ive seen improvement, but I can kinda tell that hes shy about taking the ball himself (besides that end game 3-pointer =-] ). His jumper is overrated, but he played the pick and roll perfectly, which gives him a good portion of his points. Once again, this is coming from a honest, big-time Magic fan. Don't hate me =)

Poll! Who is your Favorite Magic Player?

Guys.. the question was who is your 'favorite' player. So why does Marcin Gortat only have 3 votes?!?

If you're thinking of running to YouTube to see LeBron get dunked on, don't bother. It looks like a rep from Nike confiscated video of the Jordan Crawford-LeBron James dunk, forcing us to rely on our imaginations. Here's what happened. During the skills camp, LBJ gets into a pick-up game with a bunch of college players, and according to several witnesses, LeBron James get dunked on by Jordan Crawford, the kind of move that could become a YouTube classic. It was a two-handed jam, the kind that would've circulated quickly on YouTube. But Nike officials eliminated that possibility shortly after the dunk happened by allegedly confiscating tapes from various cameramen. Freelance photographer Ryan Miller was one of the cameramen shooting the game. He told CBSSports.com that Nike Basketball Senior Director Lynn Merritt took his tape. "He just said, 'We have to take your tape,'" Miller said. "They took it from other guys, too." Source: cbssports.com Miller said he was filming all day during the camp without incident. After the Jordan Crawford dunk, however, LeBron James apparently chatted with Lynn Merritt who confiscated the tape. "There's nothing I can think of besides LeBron just not wanting it online," Miller said. "It's a good story to tell people, I guess. But then again, I'm kind of pissed. I lost my tape." ---Why do we match well with the lakers?---

looks like I was wrong, should've been a + for the lakers on all positions.
  19. I've read a lot of posts saying we want L.A. because of the match up problems we pose for them. But I think its just the opposite... I will say a number 0-10 then the team name meaning they have the advantage. Zero being nuetral, and 10 being a VERY high advantage. Point Guards: Derek Fisher has been off, but hes tough, and he seems like the type that will take advantage of Rafers slim body and may even post up a few times. When the back-ups are in, Farmar is better than AJ in my opinion. Unless Jameer plays, the slight edge has to go to the Lakers. [+] 1 Lakers Shooting Guards Kobe Bryant vs CLee / Pietrus. Heck, we may even throw Reddick on him to see what he can do, but I think we have 3 decent perimeter defenders at this position that will try and contain Kobe, but we still know who has the advantage here... [+] 8 Lakers Small Forwards Obiously the main players here are Lamar Odom and Hedo Turkoglu. This is where they match up with us very well. They both play the same way; can both can be point forwards, shoot the 3 ball, and drive to the basket. Of course if all depends on which Hedo shows up, (the 30% shooter or 50% shooter). Yes, Hedo has the more of a advantage from the perimeter, but Odom is better down low than Hedo is. We may even see T. Ariza guarding Hedo because of his pesky defense. I know we have the better back-up (MP vs... Luke Walton?), so I'm going to give a slight advantage to the Magic, although the starting SF are very evenly matched. [+] 2 Magic Power Forwards: I hope the Lakers go with a different line up here, because I dont see P. Gasol guarding Rashard Lewis, especially on the perimer, so my guess is either Odom or Ariza (probably Ariza) will be guarding him, and I think that is bad for us. Hes lengthy like Lewis, can exploit Rashards bad dribbling skills, and can easily keep up with his when Lewis drives or goes out to the perimeter. The best thing I can see Rashard doing here vs Ariza is taking him to the post, where hes been excellent this post season. Last series against the Cavs, this would have been a + 7 for the Magic, but since he will be going against a much capable defender of the same body type, I'm only giving it a +2. If Gasol guards him... Rashard should take him everytime of offense, but defensive against Gasol will be tough for lewis, considering Gasol is somewhere around 7ft with long arms. I know Rashard will get his points, but I'm just saying, it will be much more difficult. [+] 2 Magic if Ariza is playing him [+] 0 Nuetral if Lewis has to guard Gasol So I'm fiving it a [+] 1 for the Magic because of the average. Centers: Everyone thinks Dwight will manhandle Bynum down low, but hes big, and we all know Dwight does poorly vs. tall and/or heavy defenders... (Gasol = tall, Bynum = heavy too). I'm sure Dwight will get his points, but the Lakers will put up a fight. If Bynum is on him, I expect Dwight to use his speed and quick spins to get around him. It will be kinda like him going against Perkins, Bynum and Kendrick have similar body types, but Perkins is still a better defender so Dwight should do better than he did that series. Obviously if they even think about sending Gasol on him (which they won't), then just back him down to the rim and get the easy 2. D. Mbenga may come in to stop Howard, and hes actually another big guy, which (as said before) Howard doesn't bold well against. But with the athletic advantage Howard has, it shouldn't be a problem. And we all know Gortat is a very underrated defender, especially 1v1, so I don't suspect him to have trouble with Bynum, Gasol may be trouble though. [+] 6 Magic With all the numbers combined, it come outs to be [+] 0 Nuetral. It does show, however, that the Lakers have the back court advantage, and Orlando can take control of the front court. I know some players will have off games or even a off series, so its hard to calculate the right advantages either team has. What do yall think? Who has the advantages per position and why do we match well with the Lakers?

You guys have a good team, but all you guys talkin smack acting like you guys been here before. this is the farthest you got since what 95???? Magic needs to prove that they are legit...... good luck go cavs "Been here before"? Dude, you're a freaking Cavaliers fan. The Cavs have ONE conference title in 2007 and no championships despite being around since 1970. So lets not pretend either team has some kind storied history or anything. Exactly, Magic have been around for about 20 yrs and have gone a further distance than the Cavaliers, whom have been around for almost 40 years... Actually, we have won the eastern finals twice to your one? We could've easily been rude and said in 2007, "Thats like the farthest yall been since.. ever?"
