You are a master of the derail and petty attack.
The funny part is that you are so focused on arguing something, anything, that you are basically reinforcing the fact that Victor's shooting is so bad this year that Regression is not even the best word to describe it in your mind.
It's fun for you to attack people's intelligence when you are mad, that has been abundantly obvious for a long time.
Ive said it before, if you want to talk down to someone over and over again on message board, would it not be easier to take this offline? Feel free to PM if you want to continue to the petty stuff.
-
he said he didn't care what you thought of him
Again if that was true he wold probably not be responding to every post I make down to attacking semantics.
-
Of course, I did that on purpose so the argument would end. Everyone googles the same.
If I had posted my definition he would have argued that. It's amazing how he has to pick apart every post I make now after dedicating half a page to expiating how he did not care what I thought at all.
-
yeah, a return to a former state in this case (statistics) would be a return to shooting ~34%. You're quoting the definition of regression in a medical or psychological sense.
Like I said - he is arguing semantics. Using the term regression gets the point across just fine unless you are just looking for a petty argument.
-
No i dont really think he will. But there's precident for it.
Its much more likely that he does a slow climb and his three point shooting percentage ends up around 33% overall for the year with a high month of something like 39%
I would love to see it. Contrary to some people's belief here I would like to see our guys play well.
-
That's not what regression is.
Regression is a return to a former or less developed state.
You want to argue everything now that I post ,even the semantics of it? This has become extremely petty.

son of a *****
you stole my thunder there.
Please man. Your entire agenda is trying to make me look foolish for my reasoning on why Oladipo was benched.
I get it - you have so much faith in victor that you think you can increase his 3 point shooting by more than 15% this month. And maybe he can, but it's a reach right now. That's just the reality. I'm sure you can agree with that.
-
He shot 43.9% last December when he went exactly 18/41.
Which I'm guessing is why Payton4thewin chose those specific numbers.
Yes I saw that. But his shooting has regressed sharply this season. He is 26% over 2 months and we expect him to hop to 41%? Its a tall order.
-
In any case, all Oladipo needs to do is shoot something like 18/41 from three in December to get back to an acceptable number.
That's 43% which would be a career high for him.
It's amazing that you will gleefully attack any mistake in stats I post, yet follow it up with something like this.
-
I wrote that I don't care what you think about me.
I'm starting to seriously question your reading comprehension.
And then you wrote about it for 5 paragraphs.
No comprehension needed. If you don't care you don't respond. Especially for that long.
-
What a convenient way to never have to take responsibility for anything you say.
I take plenty of responsibility and have posted a lot of things that are correct. You post GIFs and write 5 paragraphs about why you don't care what I think yet continue to respond to everything I post.
Cray how you can criticize anything I post, but can't see how you blatantly contradict yourself at times.
Whatever makes you feel better. It's very clear you do care what I think or you would ignore my posts and not spend so much time writing detailed responses.
Victor is shooting his FTs better than I posted. That was an incorrect stat on my part. This numbers were wrong.
It came from this thread I was reading -
-
Well, there are certainly numbers there.
They're wrong. But there are definitely numbers there.
For the record: he's shot 82% on FTs in the last 3 games on over 9 attempts a game, which is a bit different from the 3/12 you inexplicably have him at.
If this number are wrong then Ill go look again. This was posted elsewhere.
If he is shooting well from FT line thats great. I think the fact that he is showing very poorly from 3 and has a low FG% is the main point and the reason he was benched.
-
I think the more irrelevant thing is your numbers considering those aren't Oladipo's ft numbers for any game this season...
Edit: oh, you just repeated the three point numbers twice lol.
I didn't do anything. The numbers I post that you guys claim I manipulate are copied from other Magic forums. So you can take issue with them. It does appear that the formatting was screwed up and the FT numbers were off. That is good.
Anyway, we are back at that point of arguing sample size, if the numbers are right, saying I made them up, then it will go to one guy saying he doesn't care what I think while contradicting himself and typing 5 paragraph rebuttals to anything I say.
Main thing I have always focused on is the 3pt % and the FG%. Both are bad and both are why he is not starting right now. And let's be clear, you argued that Fournier starting at SG over Dipo was stupid and gave me grief about it before. And in another thread you made your matter of fact claim that Frye would never start over Oladipo. So I understand that you want to keep content going and argue all the time over anything since you were incorrect about those two things. Or maybe you just like petty arguments, I don't know.
-
That's a nice GIF but irrelevant since the numbers are right above you.
-
Well two of those games he was concussed and three point field goals aren't the be all end all for player success.
For our team, and most about any team now, 3 point shooting is key. You can't say yesterday that Frye is the reason for the starting lineup success and then today try and downplay a SG's terrible 3 point shooting - especially when Payton is bad at it too. Makes it way too easy to defend.
Fournier has not played that well but teams know he can catch fire at any time and as a result they have to stay up on him. Really makes a big difference.
-
Really happy for AJ. I was super impressed with him in the preseason game and thought he could break out, but it seemed like a long shot.
It's great to see that Skiles basically knew what buttons to push. The reason I like Nicholson so much is that I always knew he had the skills, but did he have the mental makeup? He was a beast in college. And his post game is just crazy good, a thing of beauty to watch.
Cool to see a guy go from buried on the bench to a legit rotation player.

WE ARE SIGNING DURANT!!!!
:band:
-
Sure we do - here's some sample size for you on Victor:
5 games before removal from starting lineup:
3PT: 1/5 (20%), 1/1 (100%), 0/2 (0%), 2/5 (40%), 0/3 (0%)
FT: 0/0 (0%), 0/0 (0%), 1/4 (25%), 1/2 (50%), 0/0 (0%)
FG%: 38.9, 50, 0, 36.4, 41.7
PPG: 15, 3, 1, 11, 10
+/- : 8, -2, -6, -16, -14
3 games since removal from starting lineup:
3PT: 1/4 (25%), 0/2 (0%), 2/6 (33%)
FT: 1/4 (25%), 0/2 (0%), 2/6 (33%)
FG%: 33.3, 58.3, 41.7
PPG: 24, 17, 19
+/-: +16, +14, +15
Trying to see why people are so defensive of a SG who shoots this poorly from 3 and can barely break 40% in FG percentage and is currently horrible at making FTs.
The bench plus minus now with Victor on it is crazy good. The change is working for both units so far. The AJ/Smith combo is dominating other team's backup front court.
Let's see how it goes over the west coast trip.
-
Well because only around 5 players in the NBA average 20 a game. 17 shots a game is very high (top 15) and 13 is top 50, which puts him as a first option on some teams and a top 2 option on about any team.
Additionally he had to shoot a lot more 3s then he ever did in college. Which is how the NBA is now. But in order to really keep a defense honest your SG should be hitting 35% of those.
-
Three full pages dedicated to the Milwaukee Bucks...why?
Because we just played them and there is not that much else to discuss right now?
-
Honestly have no idea what you are saying now. It's just like a stream of consciousness thing because I'm pretty you stated before that Oladipo was a better shooter than Harden. Now you are saying the numbers don't tell the story. Well, I hate to bear bad news, but the numbers really tell more story than any person's subjective viewpoint.
A few people have this confidence that Victor will shoot better, but what is it based on? Apparently you are saying your gut feeling trumps his statical history. I can't really buy into that, especially when his release is still flawed.
-
Im also pretty surprised that Henson is not doing that well. These guys looked scary on paper. It's odd.
-
They are a complete disappointment on defense, but their shooting was not nearly good enough to keep them in the game against us either.
They need Jabari Parker and the Freak to shoot better because we know MCW never will.
They are not fulfilling expectations on either end of the floor IMO. They were supposed to be much better than this.
-
An offense being bad and an offense not meeting expectations are two separate arguments.
"Man, this chicken isn't cooked all the way through and now I have e. coli"
is different from,
"Man, I thought I was getting pan seared salmon, but this grilled chicken sandwich is alright."
Funny, but the original statement was that the Bucks problems have "nothing to do with offense".
Not the case at all.
If you ordered pan seared salmon and got grilled chicken you would probably think the kitchen had a few issues.
