Fan Voice: "Jameer = Career"
I love my PTSD. replied to Live or Die Magic's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Nice to add a little sanity to the Board. Thanks, LOD. Your take on things is calming. And perhaps, Jameer will now, on occasion, actually realize that JJ is on the court with him from time to time. It will be a bit sad, though, to see Skiles total assists record be overtaken. -
The Dwight Howard Drama Unfolds

Perhaps, but I will agree that she is dead to me. Trying to date her was like the Clippers trying to win the NBA. Not only is it never gonna happen, but everyone in the world knows it is never gonna happen. -

I believe that reading the last 10 pages of this thread may well have been the greatest waste of time in my long life, except for that time I tried to get Norma Whipple to date me. -

You must have been one of those lucky rich kids. I was so poor, if I hadn't been a boy I wouldn't have had anything to play with. -

Not quite 81. But I was a Cincinatti Royals fan at one time. And I wore Jerry Lucas' number 11 on my high school team. I literally listened to NBA games on a little AM transister Radio. -

Youngster When I was a kid, you didn't need a black and white TV for the NBA. Just a White TV. -

Oh, I long for the days of radio, when you would imagine how the plays went, an didn't know what the players looked like. The big turmoil was Pistol Pete making unnecessary (but successful) behind the back half court passes to 6' 2" Power Forwards. That really sounded good. Life was easy because you knew Boston would win. -

Ok, A slow spot so I can address something that bugs me. STOP WITH THE "BLUE AND WHITE IGNITE". We haven seen any fire from the wet matches on our team. It is insanity. The first time it was ok, and I even painted some blue on my silver hair. Of course, we LOST that finals game. Then we did it again the next year, and the next year. When is this gonna stop. The post a few back triggered an irrational rage against BLUE AND WHITE. The kind of irrationallity that only comes to an old guy. Well, we have a large fire going on right now, and igniting is the least of our worries. Dwight is BLUE AND BLACK. And the rest of the team is pretty BLUE. Except REDick, and Jameer, who is in the Green. Can't the Magic creative staff come up with something more creative in the future. I have already staffed two full youth basketball teams with Blue and White Ignite T-shirts from the playoffs. We need something new, like Blue and White, Without Dwight. Something that will support a Heart and Hustle II team, but isn't redundant. The Comeback Kids, or the Bad Muse Magic. While we wait for this momentous news on what happens to Dwight, lets come up with some new team slogans, whether he stays or not. -

Seriously, I confirm that the Magic Manager is either in Las Vegas or not in Las Vegas. -

Question for Season Ticket Holders
I love my PTSD. replied to NBAMagic's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I, for one, knew exactly what might happen when I got my season tickets. I have had season tickets since the 90-91 season. And, no, I am not a 1%er. When I commit to something I generally stick with it. I don't make many decisions lightly. A lot of people don't know much about commitment. And a lot of people, like me, are proud to call themselves Magic fans. Sticking to a commitment means being prepared for the good times AND the bad times. The truly ignorant people are the ones who expect it to always be good times, and question their commitment when it isn't. The same is true for a lot of things. School, career, marriage. A person can just flit around looking for something better all of their life, or they can learn to commit rarely, but keep them sincerely. So I will spend next year at the games with my wife of 42 years, watching my long-time team compete, and paying for tickets from the proceeds of staying in a difficult job for over 20 years. And I am committed to not letting someone else bring me down. -
I would rather __________ than have Brook Lopez in a magic uniform

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than have to have a frontal lobotomy. -
This. If your only goal is to win a championship, there are ample bandwagon fan opportunities available in Miami and a couple of other places. With that attitude you can ALWAYS be supporting a winner. You can even change at the end of every season or playoff series. Of course, you are also bogus. If you don't have some link to Orlando it is easy to just give up and stop watching the NBA forever, or at least til a team you actually like catches your eye. I am a Magic fan, not a Howard fan (Unless he is on the Roster.) For me, going to the games is a great date night for my wife and I. Someday, between now and the apopolypse, the Magic will win a championship. They won't be leaving Orlando for a long time (New Arena). All of you pathetic fair-weather fans will jump back on the bandwagon when that happens. You will get drunk and puke in the street the night of the big win. And the next day you will start whining about management moves. That is your right.

No. I was the tornado.

You are just one of the dumb masses that are certain that Dwight is gone. Well guess what ... your guess is only as good as anyone else's. Of course, if you are right, you will post to a nausiating extent talking about your brilliance at prognostication, or your skills at deduction. But if you are wrong, you will crawl back into your hole and suck your thumb while you ponder the stupidness of the rest of the world. And none of us care what you say anyway.

DOM has just achieved a total smackdown, perhaps the greatest in the history of the board.

At one time we had a Spanish thread and a Turkish thread. I made a couple people mad when I started a Pig Latin thread. Oh, and a Polish one, too .

But Jareth taught all of us what a LOL cat was.

Again, Exactly. The Laker Board is having arguments about how to get their umpteenth championship, and Toronto has angst because they didnt' get Kidd. It is fun to enjoy the ride, if you just notice the nice scenery as you go along. We argued just as hard over Arroyo vs Nelson with more vitriol than we even have now. Yet life goes on.

Finally, someone gets it.

O, my. I am afraid that my PTSD is gonna kick in because of all the unnecessary uproar and angst on this board. It is all about nothing. If Dwight is gone, we will still have to get up in the morning. Not a one of us will be better off or worse off. If Dwight stays, we will still have to get up ing the morning. Not a one of us will be better off or worse off. We make up our own rules for happiness, and build our own rules for pain. Our original oldtimer, JackDaniels 999 had it right. Be happy and believe, no matter what. The Magic are our team, whether we have a contender or not. Henny is our new GM. I am sure that he is going to do the best he can do for the organization. If you don't like what happens, I say.. Good Riddence. Go buy some Heat or Thunder jerseys. Unless you are on the Magic staff, you are just an observer. Your trade scenarios are just amusement. Your arguments are just vain ramblings. God help us if anyone on the Magic staff actually listens to the ignorant drivel on here. So, in honor of JackDaniels 999, I say believe in the Magic.
