Have Jersey sign and trade Battie for the vet minimum along with Lee to bring salaries closer to matching. Winner winner chicken dinner.

Jezuz Khrist, lets tie up our future with a gimpy max contract player. This reeks of GRANT HILL! -
Don't panic people, Riley has a history of not being able to count. He tried to sign 3 max players in 1996 and the NBA voided the third (Juwan Howard) because he didn't actually have enough cap space. I guess he wasn't a math major at U K.

The way Blotis has succeeded with his stellar drafting makes me believe he should just do the opposite of whatever his first instinct is. Or maybe hire the octopus that's picking winners in the world cup.

So I'm reading the facebook comments on the signing of JWill...

these facebook fools need to be given swirlies every day for a month, hopefully that will dislodge the s#it that has accumulated between their ears! -

He's a speedster who can light it up. He had 34pts. and 8 assists in his last summer league game. I think he'd make a good 3rd string point guard. S&T not a possibility when you match a rfa Yes it is, if all parties agree to rescind initial offers.

But the reality is it will cost a bit more, because they can get more for Bosh in a S&T. But a man can dream...can't he? most teams will have gutted their rosters to have cap room, they may not have anyone that toronto would want. turk and marcin are both euros who they like and we could always add a couple of first round picks.

Playoff Topic: Will the magic adjust as a team to prepare for the playoffs?
Big replied to MagicPrimoz's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
quote: Originally posted by Mr Charisma:Actually, I'm thinking we need to take a realistic look at what this team is, and what the real goal of the organization is. This team was not built to win a championship this season. Let that statement sink in a little bit before going any further. Just in case, I'll say it again: this team was not built to win a championship this season. With the quick start, it seems we all (including myself) forgot that fact. A new coach was brought in, and he will be spending this year and next experimenting and evaluating everyone. Not just evaluating their skills, but also their ability to fill whatever role his system dictates, looking forward. Based on these evaluations, personnel changes will eventually be made to provide the type of personnel that will complete the building of a championship-contending team. SVG need to know who will lay it on the line; not just who is the best player(s). For example, until Brian Cook shows he is willing to do more than toss up a few 20-25 footers, he is not part of the future. If it makes Otis look bad (relevant to the trade), then so be it. Until Mo Evans understands that he is not on the floor for his offense, he is not part of the future. There are others that seem to have problems that are physical limitations that they simply can't do anything about. JJ simply does not have the foot speed to defend. Period. It's not because he doesn't want to, or isn't doing his best. He just can't. Jameer is simply too short to defend most PGs. Dooling is too short to defend many SGs. Regardless of whether you agree with those individual evaluations, the point I'm trying to make is that this team is going to be developed and manned over the next several years, not based on positioning for this year's playoff run (unless the move accomplishes both). This is the theoretical answer to the question. Otis has put the major pieces in place, but now he has to figure out how to complete the puzzle. And that's not going to happen right now. Jason Kidd won't happen because to obtain him would require getting rid of too many other options. I'm not saying it's right or wrong. I'm just saying that Otis is not going to make a move that will jeopardize this team's ability to win in the 2010-2012 time frame, and I don't think Otis (or anyone else) thinks JKidd will be close to being the same player then that he even is now. Think of it like any other business. Generally speaking, front-line managers are responsible for sucess today; senior management is responsible for success 5 years from now. SVG is your front-line manager, while Otis is your senior manager. Hopefully there are no more Fran Vasquez, Doug Christie or Brian Cook types in our future. Good post, maybe we should buy Otis the software program Puzzle Solving For Dummies and give it to him fo Christmas! -

Who is Grant Hill??? I don't remember seeing him play for the Magic !!! -
Dear BALCO, I've been an admirer of your work with Barry Bonds. I've recently shot my wad signing a free agent scorer and have discovered that much to my dismay, I no longer have my promising power forward. Could you please send me some of the "clear" for my skinny bigs? Thanx, Otis Smith

But none of those guys are actually going to be traded for JUST Hedo. Hedo for Magette? Seriously, why would LA do this? The Clips desperately need pg help. Maybe include one of our 50. To think that Arroyo, Jameer, or Diener along with Hedo is goinh to turn the tide on a trade to get Magette is almost laughable. The Clippers just drafted his replacement, Al Thornton. Corey becomes a free agent next year. The Clippers owner is on the cheap side. They want more perimeter scoring. Dunleavy doesn't like Maggs. Is that enough reasos?

If JJ puts a 1 in front of the 7 he currently wears he could be the next John Havlicek. Go Hondo.

I'm hoping JJ will step up.
