The wake up call we needed

Orlando isn't capable of winning this series, no matter how mad or determined or what they do. They just um, can't win. Phil is better than Van Gundy. Kobe is better than anyone else on the court. The Lakers are just, better. Don't feel bad though, nobody expected Orlando to make it out of the east. Nobody expected Orlando in the finals and its a nice trip to make it there, but make no mistake about it, this series is over, the Lakers are just better. The only question is if it's going to end in Orlando or L.A. We are going to LA. The Lakers are not that good. We pretty much beat ourselves tonight. Missed free throws, turnovers, a few calls down the stretch. Hopefully you don't have plans for games 6 and 7. We win 3 in Orlando. Maybe the Lakers arn't that good, maybe Orlando's just that bad? It was a good game tonight, both teams played terrible but even the terrible playing Lakers were too much for Orlando to handle. At this point just winning a single game would be a herculean task for the Magic. It's one thing to come back on the 76ers or a KG/Powe-less Celtics team or even the Lebron James show, but the Lakers they have far too many weapons, far too much talent, vastly superior coaching. I give you much credit for keeping the faith, but there comes a time when you need to simply face reality. The Magic are still a few pieces and a few years away. Nothing that they can do in this series will change that. The Lakers have an answer for everything.

  3. Turkogul is not a clutch player. I call his folding in the playoffs months ago when I first signed on, and he's proven me absolutely correct. Hedo is incapable of clutch play, he is a liability in pressure situations. I can only wonder how long Dwight will like being stuck carrying scrubs like Hedo and the bloated contract of Rashard. I'm sure its already weighing on him, the reality that his surrounding team is not championship caliber.
  4. Orlando 93 Detroit 101 Series: Detroit in 5

PEOPLE ...This is not last year's TEAM

    *crickets*
  6. Hedo shot a paltry 11% from three's and a very weak 41% overall in the first round against much lesser defenders in Toronto. Hedo's numbers will continue to drop against better defense in Detroit. Prince will probably spend most of his time on Lewis. he's a greater threat than Hedo is and isn't quite as choke prone.
  7. Sorry guys, Detroit has the bigs to keep D12 in check and Hedo and Shard are known playoff chokers. Detroit in 5.

Throughout the years he's been on some good teams, Sacramento and San Antonio, and yet during pressure situations he has always without fail folded completely. He's not a clutch playoff performer. Check the stats, his numbers universally drop during the playoffs. Regular Seasons Reaching the playoffs Vs. Playoffs PPG 8.92 - 8 TO 1.13 - 1.25 BPG .3 - .4 APG 1.86 - 1.6 RPG 3.72 - 4.1 FT% .758 - .651 3P% .374 - .363 FG% .416 - .396 MPG 23.18 - 24.7 What does all of this tell me? Pretty much nothing except that I can't take your claims worth a grain of salt, because your claims are unfounded by the stats you say back up your points. Excuse me? Look at what you're saying, Points down FG % down FT% Down Assists down Turnovers up. Hedo's numbers go down in the playoffs, not up. Thank you for proving my point.

The Magic have the worst backcourt in the league by far, it's not even close. Lewis playing out of position against bigger, stronger players will create a huge disadvantage. Giving up rebounding and defense is a kiss of death in the playoffs. Am I the only person that's remotely followed Hedo's playoff performances? But playing against more experienced and lets face it, better competetion the Magic's numerous weaknesses will be exposed. Let's follow through on your logic. Because Hedo faired poorly in playoff performances early in his career, you feel we must assume that this will continue, ignoring the fact that he has had a breakout year. Then you turn around and ignore the fact that Dwight faired poorly in his playoff performance, choosing to praise his greatness in his breakout year. I'm confused as to the logic in your decision-making parameters. By the way, just because I disagree with your argument, doesn't mean that I am attacking you. Welcome to the boards, and keep posting your thoughts and opinions. You are welcome here !!! Thank you for the warm welcome. We'll have to agree to disagree. Hedo has been in quite a few playoff series in his career and he's managed to choke at key times in each of them in pressure situations, despite being on talented teams. I can only judge Hedo's present by his past and in pressure situations he dissapears. Dwight is young and improving, It's safe to say that he will do better in the playoffs, at least one would hope.
