Greg Doyel article: Dwight Howard is a LOSER
Berto replied to ShefGator2's topic in Around the NBA/Globe Game
I find it hilarious that such an article was a published piece on CBS Sports by a professional writer, and not a rant posted on Realgm. That's embarrassing. There are ways to get the same point across without resorting to juvenile schoolyard tactics. The lack of self-awareness it takes to criticize someone else for being immature and an egomaniac, while at the same time calling someone a "loser" 7 times, is breathtaking. -
But that's what I'm saying, I'm just coming to a different conclusion. If he's on the court with Durant and/or Westbrook, he's nothing more than a guy shooting corner 3's. If he's asked to be a scorer without those two guys, he's not good enough to take on that role without killing himself from the effort it takes him to create his own shots. That's why I brought up Thabo. He's a good player, but he's not moving the meter in either direction for them.

With Durant and Westbrook, any other guard is relegated to spot-up shooting.(He wasn't very good at that last year.) AA's not a go to scorer or playmaker either, so he can't fit any kind of Harden role. I don't see him as a 3rd scorer for OKC, just more of what they don't need.

He doesn't really give them anything they don't already have with Sefolosha.

You saying that made me see that I forgot to do vuc's neck. I already saved it so a quick paint job was the best I could do.

Magic Going All In For Chris Paul's Backup?
Berto replied to Jagsfreak27's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
New Orlando Magic team rule: Thou shalt not pursue any person(s) related to or associated with Chris Paul. The process drags on , and the wanting party always comes up empty-handed. -

1. Those draft picks were useless. 2. They'd be in the same situation if they traded for Dwight or not. If #2 is correct, then he couldn't have possibly gutted the Lakers. If we don't trade Dwight, he signs with Brooklyn. Therefore, the Lakers literally lost nothing of value in their courtship of Dwight Howard. -

How did the Lakers gut their team for Dwight Howard? They got a free rental on the best center in the league by giving up a center with degenerative knees. The alternate universe version of the Lakers that convinced Bynum to sign an extension isn't happy right now. -
Everyone says that until right after the tip-off of the first game, then they remember how awful and boring the summer league is.

He looked like a manager at the Holiday Inn.

The Pelicans would be so much cooler if they decided not to look like the Hawks.

Holy ****. How far will Noel fall? Maybe 8.

Charlotte would make that pick.

I disagree with Bill Simmons all the time, but I can listen to that guy talk all day.

Houston is actually a perfect spot for Dwight Howard. If he can diagnose and cure that big head disease he has, he can probably get back on the right track. The Lakers got a rental and dumped Bynum in the process, so it's not all bad for them either. -
Assuming that's true, is that just Big Shot Rob doing his due diligence, (exploring all his options) or is that a sign that we might not be all that high on anyone at #2, and see more value in acquiring other assets?

Tyrus Thomas was basically the more athletic version of Taj Gibson with less toughness.

how long are you willing to put up with being bad?

Also, assuming Jameer was healthy and playing like he was before the injury, does he cancel out KG? Probably not, but it's interesting to think about. -
The Official "WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU PLAYING!!!?" Thread
Berto replied to Ryan the Magic Fan's topic in Off-Topic
Call me when they get those games right. The first 2 I played were too random with the KOs and the ground game aspects were just putrid. Until they figure out how to make all the fighting styles more organic and less robotic, those UFC games will just be arcade style fighters with mechanical wrestling elements. -
I can't remember a draft ever being this up in the air. Picks 1-5 and 6-13 are completely interchangeable. That makes this both exciting and terrifying thinking how many teams 5 years from now will be the team that was one slot away from selecting player A the all-star, and player B the 3 years and out bust.

This question honestly makes me feel really uneasy. Unless this franchise was being run by the current version of Jeffrey Loria, why would I walk away? Am I not a fan? Bad drafts, trades, etc. happen all the time in sports. I'm not going to disown the team I'm a fan of just because they're not contenders. Even if we were perpetual bottom feeders, I wouldn't walk away unless the problems stemmed from something other than mistakes, such as an unwillingness to pay players or some kind of cronyism that kept incompetent people in charge indefinitely. Even then, I'd probably stick around.
