  1. Does anyone remember Williams "behind the back, off the elbow pass during an all-star game many years ago? It was totally sick! I agree, he can really energize the crowd if we hit one of our many "inept" periods, although with VC, I do not think we will have anywhere near as many "flat" points in our offense, where we are totally ineffective. Bring him in for Vet's Min, and thank you Rashard, for personally funding our backup point guard!

    Projected Stats for our Big4?

Guessing the stats at this point is nothing more that that, guessing. The stats will depend on the rolls that each player is assigned, and their willingness to accept that roll. Kind of like Dwight on Team USA, he did not "need" to score, so he concentrated on D. I don't know what the stats will be, but it will be a great year for our team! P.S. VC is way better than Hedo (and I am a Hedo fan), and that will really free up our other stars, and make average roll players look like developing stars. (Just my opinion, of course).

    Great read on Otiz-Money aint a thang(link)

But everything else: brilliant. quote: Seal Contributor How quickly you forget that minor error of overpaying Rashard Lewis. (and did we even play T Lue, yeah, I guess we did, but we gave up a lot for a guy that could not get past AJ in the lineup. Enough complaining, good job by Otis this off-season! VC's expiring contract in Gortat for a Superstar in summer of 2010?

T-Rex, I am far from an expert, but it works something like this: A team tries to stay under the Cap Level, but if they are unable to do so, they then try to stay under the Luxury Tax level. There is a "penalty" for going over the Salary Cap, but I will explain that ion a minute. There is no dollar for dollar penalty for going over the Salary Cap, until you get over the Lux Tax level. Now, the dollar for dollar penalty that all teams over the Lux Tax pay goes into a "League Fund". This fund is distributed to all of the teams that remain UNDER the Salary Cap level. So you see, by going over the Salary Cap level, a team forfeits the Luxury Tax distribution that they would have gotten. If you figure out the math, a very small additional salary, say 1 million over the Cap, can cost a team MANY millions of dollars in the "loss" of Lux Tax distribution. There is one other interesting tidbit, I believe that this salary structure is intended to keep the small market teams from trying to compete, thus benefitting the leagues "bottom line". (Just my personal belief).

    Nate Robinson

Nate can draw fouls. Every time he is fouled, it is one less hack that can be used on Howard. Nate is a good free throw shooter. As far as defense, I would bet that if given the task of being the pesky defender, he could learn to be very good. Think Armstrong. I think that we would all become Nate fans if he wore blue & white. Certainly a better option than T Lue.

VC>Hedo Plays better defense, better scorer, same assists, can finish better at the rim, but does this from the SG position isntead of the SF position Ariza>Lee No knock on Lee, but Ariza is a step up. Similar players, but Ariza is taller and uses that to his advantage. We also all know that Ariza is even better than Lee at "Dunkin' on a *****". Ariza plays the SF position instead of the SG posistion. Two upgrades, and shifting responsibilities to different positions. That would be a big win for this team. Intelligent Post +1 It would be nice but its a shame he won't even accept MLE from LA so there's no hope for us See, I actually think he would settle for the MLE elsewhere just to stick it to LA. it's the principle behind him thinking that he's not wanted there. MLE from Orlando is better than MLE from LA due to state taxes, but LA is a bigger market for advertisements.

    Rasheed Wallace

Has anyone contacted San Antonio? Why not just get Tim Duncan! Let's trade Adonal Foyle and T Lue. Probably have to do a S & T to make the salaries balance. I suppose a 28 team deal could get this done also. Get on it Otis!

Orlando offered turk 9 million a year

There is another factor that many of you are overlooking. Florida has no state income tax. Depending on where he goes, a 10 Million paycheck may not be much better, or even as good as the 9 mil that Otis offered. Not to mention the Hedo sneaker deal that comes with playing on a championship team.

Pink Elephant in Magic Room : Dwight Howard

Man, when Dwight can dunk from 3-point range he will be unstoppable! Taklaman is obviously Marv Albert (Dwight from 3 - YESsssss) Dwight also needs to become more dominant on the boards. Until he can consistantly pull down 25 rebounds we will still need a true power forward.
  10. Man, where is all the posting? There are three more games to play guy.

    Blame everybody.......Except for Rashard Lewis

I think most fans agree that Rashard is not just good, but overall very good. The problem is that he is not worth 118 Million. That crippled us (until the recent news on Salary cap - see other thread). At that salary, he needs to be able to creat his own shot. Knowbody fears anything about him other than his shot, but "his shot" is only present when Dwight< Hedo, Jameer, or someone else has drawn the double team, and he is thrown a perfect pass. His unique form when he shoots takes about 2 seconds, long enough for a defender to get in his face, if they were not far away due to the double teams. Yes, he has had a few [very few) games that he won for us. How many games do you think D Wade would have won for us if we had him as a max contract Magic. My answer is "not many", cause we would win so big that it would not be appearant!!! OK, crunch time, 19 seconds remain. Who do you want with the ball? Rashard or Bosh? Try to imagine Bosh in Blue & White)
  12. I can see only one scenario: The league decides that "they missed the Kobe elbow", and allow Howard to land an elbow on Kobe. Kobe is knocked into the scorers table, and carried out on a stretcher. Sterns decides that Kobe may not return to play in Game 7 with a neck brace, not even one with a Nike logo. Magic in 7!
  13. Quit making excuses for Lewis. For what we pay him he should be able to get his own shot without needing Dwight and Hedo to get him wide open looks
  14. Lewis with 3 points and 2 turnovers. Ugh. Nobody in double digits but Hedo.

FYI - Dwight is actually a lefty who told you that lie? he's a righty. I don't recall where I read it, but he had broken either his hand or arm when he was young, so he developed his right hand. Anyone else remember reading something like that?
