Not quite sure what the beef with E'twaun Moore is on this board. Like Oladipo he's not a natural PG but he wasn't THAT bad for a 2nd year player playing on a team with no elite go to players.

Jeremy Lamb's not going anywhere. Once OKC gives him minutes and he finds a way to mesh with Russ and KD they'll be right back where they were. Harden's a better ball handler and defender plus he has more bulk, but Lamb's legit. I like the Bynum deal for Cleveland. It's worth a little $6 million dollar risk, especially if it makes the best player in the world really consider coming back "home" to finish up the prime of his career. Worst case scenario Bynum's still not healthy and you don't pick up the option for the 2nd year. Hell we're spending over 4 times as much to get guys NOT to play here this season (Arenas/Hedo) smh.
  3. Several projected starters? Projected by who...the message board? Honestly until Afflalo's dealt you can't say for sure that any of the guys that have played summer league are guaranteed starters. This SL team has 2 starters at the most, and more than likely it only has 1. Right now our starting 5 if the roster didn't change is more than likely... Jameer Afflalo Tobias Big Baby Vucevic With Big Baby still "being hurt" that opens the door for Mo or Vic maybe as we'll probably slide Tobias to the 4 but the whole "several starters" talk is greatly exaggerated. This isn't a video game, you can't just bench the guys you're trying to trade especially if you want some value in return.
  4. There's nothing wrong with calling a spade a spade. Right no Nicholson looks bad, point blank period. During this process we're going to have to give up on a few of our young guys as we start making that push back towards the top of the league. I'm not saying we have to give up on Andrew just yet, but he's going to have to outplay some people if he plans on being here past this season. I see upside in him, but you can't really teach athleticism and he looks like he doesn't have much of any. As long as he's wearing a Magic jersey he has my full support but that doesn't mean we have to baby these guys. Play better.
  5. I agree with all of this except the FA's. Outside of McGruder possibly overtaking DeQuan and Osby maybe pushing Nicholson, I think the roster's pretty much set other than trades. I think it's good to let V.O. get experience trying to deal with pesky defenders like Jackson and hopefully Beverley later this week but he'd flourish on the wings. Love what I've seen from Lamb the first two games...a shooter doesn't forget how to shoot. He's bulked up and right now is playing with confidence, if he carries that over to the regular season and we work on some sets that free him up off of screens I can see him developing into a nice option of the bench. Other than that I can't believe there are people that are getting mad about Summer League games lol. You're in way too deep if you're mad about a 1 point loss in July.

Welcome To The Orlando Magic Victor Oladipo

Curious as to who all these big guards are that are supreme post players anyway. Joe Johnson, Wade (not big but good in the post) and Kobe are the only ones that immediately come to my mind. I guess Paul George if you want to count him as a SG. Oladipo seems to have the body type to be able to handle a physical SG if necessary.

Honestly if Nicholson is part of a trade package that the Clippers are requesting for Bledsoe, and we plan to at some point part ways with Big Baby and Harrington, PF isn't as deep as we really think. On the other hand we could realistically go into the season with Bledsoe as a starter and Jameer coming off the bench so I'm not sure why everyone feels like the cupboard is so bare at the PG position. There's better PG's that we can get via trade or Free Agency than the guys that came off the board in the late 2nd round.

Yeah it's funny seeing people clamour over draft picks and then toss them to the side after 1 or 2 years. Lamb's barely 21 if even, there's definitely no reason to give up on him as a prospect just yet. As someone else stated, I wouldn't mind going into the season with Oladipo as the starter and Lamb as the main backup. Playing with house money in my opinion.

Yep....nothing that happens tonight will let us know who's going to be a solid pro or not. Might as well support whoever we draft and let them know we just want them to work hard while they're here.

No way in the world I sign off on a Zeller/Vucci front court....no way. In today's NBA I'd rather have Tobias at the 4.

    Michael Kidd Gilchrist available?

We already have MKG....his name's Mo Harkless.

I haven't seen a whole lot of Schroeder but from the little that I did see I think it's obvious that he has a whole lot of upside. I'm a believer that McCollum will turn out to be the best player in this draft for the first year or two. He just has a very polished NBA style game and the size to play point in the league. I also believe some of his "weaknesses" will become nonfactors now that he'll be playing alongside NBA talent. FWIW I like Oladipo but I try not to buy into the "Wade" comparisons too much because every other year there's someone that gets compared to Wade. From Stuckey, to Alex Burks, to Oladipo now....Wade in college was much more of a scoring threat than Oladipo. Not a big fan of us drafting McLeMore unless he get Bledsoe because B-Mac isn't really a guy who can create his own shots. We'll need to be an uptempo team for McLeMore to really be successful which is possible with Bledsoe and Harkless out there. Many people that grew up in his area have said that McLemore mostly played in the post through his High School years, which would at least help explain his lack of true guard skills.
