  1. Can people please stop over-reacting to Ibaka's 'decline'

Some of his defensive decline, rebounding, scoring has links to other causes.

Standing out at the 3pt line defending PF's who shoot threes puts him away from the basket, reducing his FREQUENCY of shot blocking. This is today's game, bringing bigs away from the rim.

Rebounding he has had the load taken off his shoulders from when he was playing with Perkins, to playing with Adams/Kanter who excell at rebounding so Ibaka was able to step out to the 3pt line and shoot, and so that he could box out and allow Adams and Kanter go to the boards effectively. Sometimes people forget it's a team game and someone else needs to contribute even though it reduces a players statistical significance.

His scoring like someone mentioned above, that is something that he can focus on being more balanced. Perhaps though, in our team we only will need him as a stretch 4 playing possibly next to Vuc depending on what happens, but I do agree he can go inside a little more in order to get him going in all facets of his offense.

He is 26, he is coming to play for Vogel. Who lets not forget makes defensive bigs MONSTERS.

Let's see how it plays out.

  2. I am gunna miss Vic so much. He was an entertainer while being a good player for our team. He had his shortcomings which were under the telescope due to our own WEAKNESSES and NEEDS as a team, so I can see why he has been moved. For me, it's a Win Win trade, depending on if we can bring in something more to the table in trades/FA.

Interesting direction, never saw it coming and that's why it hurt so much but possibly the right way forward. I will reserve my opinion for now.

  3. It's puzzling yeah, but theres no way henningan makes a stupid move like this without something else in the works.

Maybe butler is coming, maybe horford comes and plays next to Ibaka. Maybe durant wanted to stay with Serge, perhaps Vogel brings PG, maybe Vuc is packaged with a few pieces and future first for butler.

Everything is ridiculous and theoretical but my point is, there is more moves to be made. There HAS to be

  4. i believe that elfrid's development is key to next year, i thought he played very well last season until he started getting hurt, i believe that coach vogel will get this kid's confidence up and he can be a difference maker

also i would like to see vooch stretch his range to 3 point territory there is no reason why he can't do it, that way we could utilize aaron more in pick and roll

Getting Aaron moving off the ball is going to make him that much more of a dangerous player.

I do think however, for him to be utilized to his maximum potential in the PnR, he is going to need to reach a respectable level for 3PT%.

Once this happens, you will see how much it opens up his options once he receives the ball out of the PnR.

If he pops, he can knock down an open three (If he becomes decent), or he can blow by slower opponents going to the rim, dishing, kicking, dunking, finishing.

Not to mention, him having a respectable three ball, will open up lanes for ball handlers in PnR, and create lanes for Gordon to cut as the PF guarding him, will need to be higher in order to close out. Aarons speed is something we need to use to our advantage, with him slipping screens and cutting to the hoop.

  5. I thought about a poll question, but at this point (Philly is exploring) it should be discussion only. I agree with the ESPN talking heads, Stien and Chad Ford, that the twin towers attempt have failed, and Okafor made it clear that he was not sold on playing in Philly!!

Philly will look for a trading partner soon, should we explore either of these guys, most of all, would either of them help us take the next step....and at what cost?

Here is the ESPN article link: http://espn.go.com/n...or-nerlens-noel

    It's a no from me.

Okafor is at this stage, a Vucevic with a few years minused. Still has problems on the other end, and that's why we have problems there.

Noel, a guy who can't do it at both ends.

  6. The ideal scenario for us this summer is our "we plan to match any offer" rhetoric has teams hesitant to offer Fournier, the major free agents take a while to make their decisions, and the long wait has Fournier resign with us for an offer in the harris ballpark.

I agree, it needs to be a figure that is tradeable, and gives us a way to cash him in on an asset, depending on who we can allow to come during FA. If we pull a Batum, Deng, Barnes out of the box, his contract needs to be tradeable.

  7. Vogel is so confident about this teams ability to win now and make the playoffs right away, next season.

When you listen to the way he's saying it, it's as if he knows his coaching ability, can assure we make the playoffs.

This is a dude, who is gunna be great for our organization.

  8. Personally Batum for this roster.

I can envision a lineup of Oladipo Hezonja Batum Gordon Vucevic, being extremely effective.

Not as the starting 5, but in that lineup you have 3 play makers who can all shoot, even with Vic's short comings, which aren't that bad anymore. I can also already believe Batum-Vucevic PNR would be a option on offense that opens up alot of opportunities.

  9. My wants for the position are

    Vogel or Griffin.

I don't want Hornacek, or any of those other guys. We can't take a risk here. If we take a risk, the coach stays with us for two years before managment decides it's not working out.. it's 2 years along in the players careers and we are looking at a few of our players coming into their prime. Not to mention, guys like EP, Gordon, Mario who still need to develop. One more coaching change, at their age (2 years from now) could have a massive impact on their development.

  10. I watched his triple double vc OKC where he hit multiple buzzer beaters aswell.

He is the type of player that can contribute 4 of the 5 main things to do on the court, and that is what makes a star. A superstar can control the game, and that's the 5th thing he needs to learn.

I dont think some people here realize what kind of player we have at our two guard position, and what an asset he is.

  11. Little video for Oladipo

I love him at the two guard, his game has come so far already. Imagine if he can improve his 3pt % with a bit of consistency aswell. Two way stud, perfect player him and Gordon, to accompany some sort of star.

Defence is the way forward for this franchise, it needs to be.

  12. Conley isn't the right fit for this team.

He is in the sense he will improve us, but he wont be utilized efficiently.

With the pace we play at, it is completely different to the type of game he has modeled for himself these bunch of uyears in Memphis playing with Gasol and Randolph.

I do think he can adapt and be a solid player here. But he will no way come close to what his peak output in memphis was.

He is not a guy who will break down defense individual, he generally needs a screen to break down and penetrate. Elfrid does not.

If Elfrid can bring his 3P% up a few more tickets, he will be league average and no one here will be wanting to get rid of Elfrid. He is a guy who can lead a team, both ends of the floor. It's something special we have with him and Victor, it's a shame of course the shooting is not there.

I still am a believer that it can be improved, it's been a massive improvement from Elfrid this seaosn on both mid range and three's. He shot 32.6% from three.

Take for example, Rondo never exceeded Elfird's percentage this year during his years with Boston and was an all-star caliber player on a championship team getting it done.

If elfrid can reach a respectable rate, somewhere close to 36-38% I would say that is one heck of an improvement and I do honestly believe we should be sticking it out with him.

  13. Been thinking about our position in the draft, and wether Henny will want more young meat on the roster.

If he doesnt, do we package the pick and Vucevic and send them to boston for Butler?

    Possibly give them Ilyasova aswell.

That creates a whole diff ball game heading into FA, We could be looking at Payton, Oladipo, Butler, Gordon, Dedmon starting lineup.

    Imagine that defense, wow!

Not to mention, if Butler comes on draft day, with FA still to come. Does Horford, whiteside etc consider coming here to ORL? I think so.

Wishful thinking but, that would be an amazing outcome.
