JJ Not Here For Long - Redick Bides Time On Bench For Magic (Central Florida News 13)
michelle7 replied to sharp/7/shooter's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
quote: Originally posted by Mr Charisma:Similar to the way that if he gets in a game and hits a 3-pointer than we have 60 Duke fans pounding the boards the next day, asking why he's not on the all-star team? You want to point out those threads where 60 Duke fans pounded the board? I read this board every day and one thing never changes. The same people defend J.J. and the same people call him a bust. You do not get an influx of new Duke posters after J.J. hits a 3-pointer or has a decent game. Unlike you, they have better things to do. -
Otis, what are you thinking Re: J.J. Redick?
michelle7 replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
JJ himself has already said he's done growing and his arms aren't going to get any longer. I think he's just a bad fit for this team. I understand your frustration that Otis didn't trade him for Haslem or someone else who would actually play and help the team go further in the playoffs. I think the trade issue is one thing most JJ supporters and detractors can agree on. Otis said it was for insurance, but with Dwight/Hedo/Rashard around, they're never going to need JJ. Hopefully this summer they'll trade him and everybody will be happy -- even JJ. -

Many Redick, Magic questions in D. Thorpe's insider chat

I had to post this. Those Redick questions were just to funny!(lol) Note from the Cameron Crazies: Have fun [EDIT] laughing with each other boys. Mod's Note: Sorry, but that was a bit over the line...we don't all have to get along, but the inappropriate insults are not necessary, even if it is in jest. -
"These JJ fans are starting to sound like Carlos fans" We could nip that in the bud pretty easily I think. JJ supporters aren't any more "groupies" than anyone else on this board who has a favorite player. The man-crushes most of you have on Dwight are case in point. Dwight is "the man" so its natural, but what's the difference really? Other than Dwight never getting criticized or needing to be defended, that is. JJ fans should admit that he has some work to do to get more playing time and they're just going to have to be patient... and maybe the JJ skeptics can admit he's a decent player with potential and stop bagging on him so much. Either way, the Carlos thing last year got really old, really fast. So hopefully the anti-Redick and pro-Redick contingents can put a fork in it. As entertaining as the squabbling is, you guys actually have a good team this year you could be focusing on.

A Keith Bogans thread - Where Redick lovers like to insult & crticize(Andie & Jacklj)
michelle7 replied to ball junkie's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I can admit that Bogans has been doing well at the 2. Your record backs that up and I have no problem with him starting and getting the most minutes. I don't think the issue is between Bogans and Redick because obviously when Bogans is on the bench, JJ isn't even the backup. My only issue with this board is people saying that JJ is a bust and doesn't deserve playing time. If he's a complete bust, then why did you draft him 11th? Are your scouts that bad? Why isn't he in the D-League? He's not ready yet for SVG's system and to me that means he either sits on the bench and waits but does everything he can do off the court to get to where he needs to be (practicing, working out, improving D, whatever) or gets traded to a team that actually needs him (like Diener and Ariza). Why can't that kind of statement be enough? I don't understand all the trash talk about a player on your own team. It reminds me of last year when so many people were trashing Carlos and his fans. Your opinion is your opinion, but I don't buy into the statement that some of you have more basketball knowledge than the "common man." That's pretty presumptious. Back to this topic specifically, kudos to Keith Bogans. He's proof that you can sit and wait for your shot and eventually get an opportunity and make the most of it. I'm happy for him. -
quote: Originally posted by SmackDaddy:You knew it was coming, so don't act surprised. Now that JJ, Arroyo, and Garrity have totaled 10pts, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in 83 combined minutes and the Magic have been outrebounded in both games...take your pick. Trade one, Trade two, or trade all three, but we need a big man and these three guys all suck. Suprisingly, I agree with you. Except I think the whole team sucks. So how about we trade the Orlando Magic for the Detroit Pistons in their entirety and maybe then we'd have a team worth watching. Seriously. Do you really think Dwight, Rashard and Jameer have a chance to beat anybody more than 50% of the time? Trading JJ/Arroyo/Garrity for a big is going to solve the Magic's mediocrity? Good luck with that.

You have got to be kidding me. J.J. isn't allowed to drink a glass of champagne? Drinking a glass of champagne is detrimental to the team? Anyone who thinks that is a flat out nitwit. The real question is why Smack has personal pictures of J.J. stored on his computer in the first place. LMAO.

J.J.'s Mission: Intense Summer Workouts to Start or Play Major Role(Magic Magazine)

Bummer. I'm not surprised though. Hopefully they don't freak out and start calling 50 on Coach K next season. ;p -
457 Three-Pointers, Career -- #1 NCAA, ACC & Duke History Once he actually, oh I don't know, gets on the floor... He'll be able to help the Magic win w/that 3-point prowess of his.

Donovan Is Trying to Back Out on the Magic Deal????
michelle7 replied to BRich's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
quote: Do the right thing, lick your wounds, and move on. If Billy doesn't want to coach your team, for whatever reason, contract or not, let him go. He accepted a job, signed a contract, and then backed out. Only on Mars does that not effect your credibility long-term. But, if he's not 100% committed to the Magic, then I'm all for letting him go with gusto. Go Billy, go back to your safe little job and pretend that you don't look like a flip flopping weak-minded person. -
Donovan Is Trying to Back Out on the Magic Deal????
michelle7 replied to BRich's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I hope Donovan realizes that he's lost all credibility pulling this eleventh-hour flip flop. How is he going to preach honor and commitment to his players at UF, when he doesn't honor his own commitments? -
All we have to do to avoid being an "also-ran" in the East is win more. Novel concept, I know.

Magic win points by hiring Donovan, Milicic's agent says

quote: Originally posted by christophergentry110401:you two are overanalyzing this situation. Darko wants to be here that is all he has ever said. He hated Brian Hill for making him play in the post but as we saw in the playoffs he is good if you let him do what he does best. Billy D. will work wonders with him and Dwight. Just dont be so over dramtic when it comes to the Darko situation. I don't blame him. I hate Brian Hill too. Hehe. And ps, I don't think I'm being over-dramatic... I just think that Darko wants to be a go-to guy and if that's the case, he may or may not be in the best situation to be that. But whatever, if he resigns with the Magic, I'll cheer as loudly as the rest of Darko Nation. I want him to succeed as much as anybody does. -

what about Chauncey Billups to orlando?
michelle7 replied to shaky777's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Billy better *teach* JJ, Trevor, Dwight, Jameer, and whoever else is in the mix to create their own shot... or we're toast. With or without Chauncey, Vince, Rashard or whoever else is available. -

michelle7 replied to Nyce_1's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
I love Darko, but I'm not sure about Howard and Darko together. I would be more sure if last year's coach played them together more, but that's moot now. I'm wondering how we get a decent point guard *and* the go-to scorer Otis thinks we need w/o sacrificing Darko. The obvious answer being we keep Darko no matter what and choose between PG and the go-to-savior... Which then makes me wonder, if we get a Vince Carter lets say, who is going to be the leader of the team? Vince? Dwight? Darko? I think all three of them envision themselves being "the franchise"... You appease all three how? -

michelle7 replied to shaky777's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Billups is a star. We'd be lucky to get him, so I would go there first. He whiffed a little bit against the Cavs, but he lasted longer than Vinsanity and the Nets. And yes, I'm totally biased, but I think JJ is perfectly capable at SG. -
Inside the Magic blog - 6/2 "JJ was thinking about asking for a trade"
michelle7 replied to Nyce_1's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
As a JJ Redick fan, I was prepared to ask for a trade too if BHill came back so I'm surprised that anyone would be 'blown away' by this news.
