This guy will be a big bust at the next level. He is very very overrated.

I'm in.
That link is retarded. I'm not donating money to a site just to sign a petition. Its not like its gonna make a difference anyways.

He didn't say who but he did say that the reason the trade didn't happen is because the other teams were asking too much. It would have set us back further so it didn't make sense.
He also said that Darko was one of the people that teams were asking for and he is one of the people that the team has deemed untouchable.
I hate Napoleon but he could be telling the truth on this one. All the LA rumors I heard said that Thorn wanted Bynum before they would deal Kidd. Mitch Kupchak would have to be every bit as stupid as Shaq said he was to make that trade.

Everyone that is taking Otis at his word when he says "nothing is in the works" needs to go to insidehoops.com. Its a compliation website of various articles and basketball rumors. After reading it there is one common theme: Every GM in the league is denying that they are trying to trade anybody.

There's a reason that 37+ year old Eddie Jones is taking all of Wrights playing time. Wright isn't any good.

You underestimate the owner's devotion to Brian Hill. It wouldn't be prudent at this point for Otis to start a war. Let Brian Hill do what he does best...give him enough rope to hang himself. Then hopefully Otis can bring in a real coach.

Jambo calm down. I know you're pi**** off because I am too but be a little rational. This game doesn't mean anything when it comes to trade scenarios. It doesn't change the fact that Carter wants to play here.
Its just that kind of irrational thoughts that would have the Magic trading away too much to get Carter.
Just so you know it isn't up to Otis to fire Brian Hill. That decision is up to the owners.

What is this crap? Where do they get this from?
Did Ric really say that about Brian Hill and Vince? Someone else please confirm or deny that he said that specifically.
if Brian Hill did say that I will officially try to kill him!

There are other ways to free up capspace like making smaller trades. Trading Turkoglu or maybe Arroyo would do the job. A sign and trade is always a possibility as well. If Carter wants to be here as much as its been rumored then it will be worked out.
-
Resigning Darko and the Carter situation are the only significant signings that will happen this offseason. The only other thing they might do is sign a cheap big man.

My adrenaline is seriously pumping after watching that. I would have given anything to have been at that game.

Here is an interest quote from Yahoo sports:
As currently constituted, New Jersey Nets president Rod Thorn understands his franchise has gone as far as it can with Jason Kidd, Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson. Between now and the trade deadline, he'll be working relentlessly to move Carter, but there's one lingering possibility that could lead to a parting of ways with Kidd.
And that would be the Los Angeles Lakers deciding to include 7-foot teen center Andrew Bynum, a Jersey native, in a package for Kidd. That's where Thorn's lust lies with the Lakers.
So far, L.A. has resisted. To part with Bynum, who has a chance to become one of the game's elite centers, makes no sense. In the end, does anyone truly believe Kidd makes the Lakers a championship contender in the two years that he probably has left as an elite player? He's 34 years old and is playing his best basketball in years for the Nets, but Phil Jackson's triangle offense has never demanded the presence of a true point guard.
Thorn wants what every executive with a mandate to dump star players wants: A package of young players, expiring contracts and draft picks.
"Thorn might be the most active G.M. in the league now," one Western Conference executive said. "He's trying hard to move Carter."
Carter can opt out of the final year of his contract this summer, but realistically, there isn't much of a market for him at near-max out money. For the Nets and Carter, a sign-and-trade could be a genuine possibility this summer.
Here is another interesting situation considering how much we need another big man.
It has gotten to the point, one Washington Wizards source said, where it is virtually impossible for centers Brendan Haywood and Etan Thomas to sit in the same room without wanting to trade haymakers. They went at it again last week in practice, and the Wizards have given up hope that they'll ever be able to get these two players to co-exist. The result is that Washington is listening to offers between now and the deadline.
If these rumors are true then maybe we could get one of these big men for a relative cheap price. I always thought Haywood was a solid player.

Well if that's true then I have lost a little respect for him. Still, he's probably the lesser of the evils.

I think anyone other than George W. Bush is an upgrade and I am a Republican in the military how sad is that.
I would like to see John McCain run again but not this election because it would be very hard for a Republican to win this time around. It would be funny to have a president that I know for a fact is tougher than me.

You misunderstand me man, it wasn't a dig on Durant at all. I've seen him play alot (ESPN has a Texas game on at least once a week) and Durant is special, no doubt about it. That being said, Oden is the type of player that takes a bad team and instantly makes them good and takes a good team and turns them into a champion. Mark my words, Oden is the very rare type of player that can dominate a game without scoring but trust me he won't have any trouble scoring either.

Even better if its Garrity for Davis. Dooling will opt out anyway (I think) but there's no way Garrity will.

lol, While we are at it maybe we could get Bynum! I'm not even going to try to figure out why he thinks Okur is a better shooter than JJ.
WP, the reason we should try to deal Garrity if we can is because he will cost us around 3 million in capspace next season. Why would he opt out of his final year to sign for the league minimum? It wouldn't make any sense.

Maybe something could be worked out where the Magic would still pay some of his final years salary. I think its been done before.

I don't give a crap what Darko would think. If the Magic could pick Oden they would do it just like any other GM would.

Jambo there are two big problems with your scenarios.
1) It would probably take more than Grant and Bogans to get Carter. I know you mentioned Augie and Fran but neither of them have any real trade value.
2) Golden State might do that trade and I would be ok with that. The problem is that if we somehow managed to get Richardson and Carter we are duplicating talent. Meaning we now have two swing players that both dominate the ball and basically play the same game. There's no way it would work.

I would take Maggette or Artest in a heart beat although I know we would never acquire Ron Artest.
Makes me sick every time I see Danny Granger play.
I feel like I get kicked in the stomach everytime I think of Granger. The vision of Ariza and Granger locking down opponents at the 2 and 3 position is too much.

Will your guys be dancing on selection sunday (March 11th), gloomily accepting a NIT berth, or staying home altogether!!
My Noles are looking to crack the tourney and taking down the Dukies in front of the Cameron Crazies was a nice start!!
Sorry JJ for ruining your number retirement day.
FSU has been a major pain in Duke's *** for several seasons now. I actually wince when its time to play you guys again.
