Oh, and no chance of recovering anything that was deleted?

Must say, this thread looks odd with so many posts with blank spaces for sigs (including mine...). Thanks again for making all those, Addi!

The Dwight Howard Drama Unfolds
Nike replied to Live or Die Magic's topic in The Thread Hall of Fame
...that's it? Slightly underwhelmed by this trade as reported - hopefully more details come to light and we will have managed to move more contracts (Turk, etc.). Still not impressed with what we're getting back... -
Yeah, no longer being in the Orlando area, this means fewer games I can watch on TV... I wonder if they might add more games to the national TV schedule for the intrigue if Dwight remains on the team at the opening of the season.
-
Just watched the conference - I must say, I'm quite impressed by Jacque, and like the response from the players (well, at least BBD) so far!
-
Welcome aboard, Jacque! I like the hire, and best of luck!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the Magic fans here and everyone who have stuck through all this drama; although I haven't been able to make it to many games (I'm now no longer in the Orlando area), it still makes me proud to see the true Magic fans rocking the O-rena (errr, Amway...) every night. We've been through the bad (that 21-win season...), the good (Finals!), and everything in between, and we'll always be loyal to the blue and white...

Magic, Jameer Nelson agree to a new deal.

Welcome back, Jameer! -
Welcome, too, to Kyle O'Quinn, our second round draft pick.
-
Surprised at how far Perry Jones and Jared Sullinger tumbled - their respective injury issues must have been huge, because I expected some team to gamble on them a little earlier; both were available for the Magic. Not familiar with Nicholson, but welcome aboard, Andrew! I'm wondering what this means Rob thinks our chances of keeping RA are...
-
There's obviously a lot of suggestions floating around here (as there always are on these message boards!), but Dan, if you get a chance to just mention to Rob how excited the Magic fan base are to have him on board, that would be great. Just let him know that he's now part of the Magic family, and that we wish him good luck as we move forward!

Congrats, Rob, and welcome to the Magic family! I'm excited about this hire - I don't think we could have gone wrong with any of the three finalists.

The Official Dwight Howard Everything Thread

Wow. Just wow - what a roller coaster. At this point there's been so many rumors that I'll believe something only if we get official confirmation... less than 12 hours till the deadline... -

wow, ESPN reporting that Mike D'Antoni just resigned... wonder if that will affect any potential offers to the Magic for Dwight... -
Game Thread: Magic @ Warriors 1/12/12
Nike replied to Beast From The East's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
dominating stat line from Dwight. now, only if we could a) play some defense B) get Dwight to hit more of his free throw attempts and c) get Dwight to rescind his trade request... [or d) manage to get Dwight on my fantasy team...] -
Well, it depends on how early you want to arrive at the arena - tip-off is usually about 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, but there's player introductions and national anthem beforehand, etc. (plus if you get there earlier than that they try to entertain you with the jumbotron...) I would say to allot at least an extra 10-15 minutes for parking and getting to your seats (especially if you park at one of the further away garages), and to give yourself more time if there's traffic. If you want to definitely be there for tipoff, no harm in getting to the arena a little earlier! And just remember to bring your tickets! and yup, plenty of Magic gear in the arena for you to buy, but be ready to spend some money...

Weather in Newark/Brooklyn: 35oF. Number of wins expected for the Nets: < the temperature there. Playing with Kim Kardashian's ex? Unreal. Weather this week in Orlando: 60s-70s F. Number of wins expected for the Magic: equally as high.* Leading the Magic to championships? priceless. *yes, I'm aware it's a 66-game season, but couldn't think of anything better to go here...

Welcome to the message boards, and be ready to stand and cheer for the Magic! The choice of games is up to you, though personally I would rather go to a game versus the T'Wolves (Minnesota) just because of the players they have (Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, etc.). The choice of seats is also up to you, and different seats will have different price levels, of course. There's a 3D seat viewer here - http://www.seats3d.com/nba/orlando_magic/ - that may be of use. Here's an interactive parking map - http://www.amwaycenter.com/parking-map - with directions from I-4. It's $20 to park at the parking garages closest to the arena (including Geico Garage, which has a pedestrian bridge to the arena) but if you're willing to walk a block or two, most of the other lots are $10. You should get tickets in advance - there's still tickets available through TicketMaster, I think, or you can find ones on StubHub or other ticket-reselling sites (be aware that all those sites will add on fees, so your final cost will be a little bit more expensive than the displayed ticket price.) Hope this helps!

The Official Dwight Howard Everything Thread
Nike replied to Drain-O's topic in The Thread Hall of Fame
no, Dwight, say it ain't so... and demanding a trade to a specific team? That ruins chances of getting a better offer by having different teams outbid each other... -
let's get ballin' again!

Offseason Thread Part VII: The Fall of The Lockout
Nike replied to AddiFB's topic in The Thread Hall of Fame
woohoo - looks like we have a season! Has anyone heard about whether or not that amnesty clause is included in the new CBA?
