  1. I won't miss TNT stretching the game with an extra 30 minutes of commercial timeouts.

Really only hurts the out of state fans that don't get Sunshine/FSN.

Yeah, no longer being in the Orlando area, this means fewer games I can watch on TV... I wonder if they might add more games to the national TV schedule for the intrigue if Dwight remains on the team at the opening of the season.

  2. Just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the Magic fans here and everyone who have stuck through all this drama; although I haven't been able to make it to many games (I'm now no longer in the Orlando area), it still makes me proud to see the true Magic fans rocking the O-rena (errr, Amway...) every night. We've been through the bad (that 21-win season...), the good (Finals!), and everything in between, and we'll always be loyal to the blue and white...

  3. Surprised at how far Perry Jones and Jared Sullinger tumbled - their respective injury issues must have been huge, because I expected some team to gamble on them a little earlier; both were available for the Magic. Not familiar with Nicholson, but welcome aboard, Andrew! I'm wondering what this means Rob thinks our chances of keeping RA are...

  4. There's obviously a lot of suggestions floating around here (as there always are on these message boards!), but Dan, if you get a chance to just mention to Rob how excited the Magic fan base are to have him on board, that would be great. Just let him know that he's now part of the Magic family, and that we wish him good luck as we move forward!

  5. From ESPN: (link)

Mike D'Antoni has resigned as coach of the New York Knicks, sources confirmed to ESPN Wednesday.

    D'Antoni

    D'Antoni

D'Antoni's resignation was first reported by Yahoo! Sports.

The Knicks (18-24) have hit a tailspin in the last two weeks, losing six straight and seven of eight to fall six games below .500 and into a tie for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

New York had high expectations coming into this season with Carmelo Anthony, Amare Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler on the roster. After struggling through the first six weeks, though, the Knicks went 8-1 in a nine-game stretch in mid-February on the strength of point guard Jeremy Lin, who electrified both the fan base and his teammates after being claimed off waivers in late December.

  6. thanks for the info. really appreciate it... have got tickets for the T'Wolves, and got section 225, what time should we aim to be at the car parks for ?

Is there anything we should bring along with us to the game ?

Can we get merchandise in the stadium ?

    thanks

Well, it depends on how early you want to arrive at the arena - tip-off is usually about 10 minutes after the scheduled start time, but there's player introductions and national anthem beforehand, etc. (plus if you get there earlier than that they try to entertain you with the jumbotron...) I would say to allot at least an extra 10-15 minutes for parking and getting to your seats (especially if you park at one of the further away garages), and to give yourself more time if there's traffic. If you want to definitely be there for tipoff, no harm in getting to the arena a little earlier! And just remember to bring your tickets! and yup, plenty of Magic gear in the arena for you to buy, but be ready to spend some money...

  7. Weather in Newark/Brooklyn: 35oF.

Number of wins expected for the Nets: < the temperature there.

Playing with Kim Kardashian's ex? Unreal.

Weather this week in Orlando: 60s-70s F.

Number of wins expected for the Magic: equally as high.*

Leading the Magic to championships? priceless.

*yes, I'm aware it's a 66-game season, but couldn't think of anything better to go here...

    bemagic..

Welcome to the message boards, and be ready to stand and cheer for the Magic! The choice of games is up to you, though personally I would rather go to a game versus the T'Wolves (Minnesota) just because of the players they have (Kevin Love, Ricky Rubio, etc.). The choice of seats is also up to you, and different seats will have different price levels, of course. There's a 3D seat viewer here - http://www.seats3d.com/nba/orlando_magic/ - that may be of use. Here's an interactive parking map - http://www.amwaycenter.com/parking-map - with directions from I-4. It's $20 to park at the parking garages closest to the arena (including Geico Garage, which has a pedestrian bridge to the arena) but if you're willing to walk a block or two, most of the other lots are $10. You should get tickets in advance - there's still tickets available through TicketMaster, I think, or you can find ones on StubHub or other ticket-reselling sites (be aware that all those sites will add on fees, so your final cost will be a little bit more expensive than the displayed ticket price.) Hope this helps!

  9. Nets fans chanted "We want Howard"

Jarrod is asking Magic fans to chant "You can't have him".

I bet if we lose this game, the chants in Jersey when we play there might be one of the following:

    "Ha-Ha You lost"

"Yes we'll get him" clap clap clap-clap-clap "As free agent"

    "Dwight to Brooklyn"

"Dried up pond" clap clap clap-clap-clap "Shaq had a point"

"Hawks kicked our ass" clap clap clap-clap-clap "But we kicked yours"

"Deron to Dwight" clap clap clap-clap-clap "We can not wait"

...any effort/times to coordinate chants to get one started tonight?

  10. woohoo - looks like we have a season! Has anyone heard about whether or not that amnesty clause is included in the new CBA?

With the possibility that the lockout is indeed over (pending players/owners approval/signatures)...

    1) How will the new CBA affect the Magic?

    2) Who should we try to sign as free agents?

    3) Who should we trade and for who?

    4) Amnesty, is it in the new CBA? Will we say goodbye to Gil or Hedo?

    5) Our favorite scary bedtime story: The near future of the Magic - with or without Dwight Howard.

    6) Is Otis waiting in his office with thirty mobile phones, each phone with one team on speed dial and a special red mobile phone for the NBA offices, so he can somehow do some magic tricks and make us.. *caugh*... better?

    7) The return of the Jareth
