Well, the Heat are down to four players - Wade, LeBron, Bosh, and Chalmers. But they've gotten a tiny bit more flexibility in filling out the other nine or ten roster spots.

Ho-lee CRAP @ open letter to Cavs fans from owner Dan Gilbert

Someone's MAD.... and I don't blame him one bit. -
This can't be happening. Any team with LeBron or Dwyane scares me, but the two together, along with Bosh, really is intimidating...

The official PANIC!!!!!!!!! SUPER TEAM IN THE DIVISION!!!! Thread
Nike replied to Fultz4thewin's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Any team with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh scares me... even if most of the other players are a pu-pu platter of random, minimum contract players... -
Thread Hall of Fame, for sure...

Looks like a raw, raw big man backup, perhaps clearing the way for Gortat to leave... the 1.4 bpg in only 12 minutes of action is pretty decent, though.

wow, really enjoyed that video there - great recap of the great Magic moments we've had. -
Why is this? Logical & Educated Magic Fans Only (please)
Nike replied to Dave Lubinsky's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Have you compared the dropoff to what happens on other teams? It's entirely plausible that at least part of the reduction in scoring can be attributed to playing in a new system under a new coach and new teammates. In addition, the players are also one year older - probably not a cause in this comparison, but age is definitely something to keep in mind when comparing statistics. -
Avery Johnson is the new coach of the Nets

I like Avery - a solid coach who pushes his team relentlessly. Apparently Devin Harris pushed for the reunion as well. -
quote: Originally posted by ManuGinobili: quote: he played 36 minutes of uncontrolled, horrible basketball. Then he went 4/4 in the last 5 minutes which made his shooting %s look ok. Please tell me you are kidding me. HORRIBLE BASKETBALL? Didnt you see the fake on Bynum in the 1st half. The banking layups. The pace for the fastbreak pts all game long. The basket after Gasol's block that gave the Cs the lead for good. He was Allen's Robin yesterday, even though he played Batman in the 4th. I agree with you that Allen did everything he could to bolster Rondo's dime number. And his passes were not too sharp in the 1st half. But a PG getting so many crucial offensive rebounds in the last period cannot be overrated. I mean, if Jameer had done that in G2 of the Finals, we would be making him a statue outside Amway. I have to grudgingly agree with Lewis here - though I don't think he played horribly in the first three quarters, he certainly played subpar(ly), at least to what we've come to expect of him. He made several questionable passes that became turnovers, and a few more were only saved by the Celtics' shooters. When he drove in he missed layups and had his shot blocked often with the Lakers' large lineup out there. Plus, Rondo stopped pushing the pace in the 3rd quarter, which had been so effective in the first half. (To be fair, that was probably Doc's fault for having played him every single minute up to that point.) Again, I'm not saying he played poorly, but that he was subpar, at least with his standards. After coming back in the fourth quarter, though, Rondo was spectacular.

Ray Allen, unbelievable shooting in that half - 7 3-pointers (out of 8 attempts) tying a Finals record for most 3-pointers in a game already. Giving up that last 3 to Kobe was just inexcusable, though.

It's quite an accomplishment to say that John Wooden was a better person than a coach. You will be missed, both on the court and off the court.

Ref, Timekeeper, NBA Conspiracy Thread (merged)
Nike replied to A BETTER DJ's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Sort of unrelated, and I don't know if the TV cameras caught this, but at some point in the first half (I think it was between the quarters) the scoreboard operators had the Magic up 131 to 27... before they flipped it to 130 to 27. I took a picture of that; thought it was quite funny. (The actual score at that point was 31 to 27, I think.) -

Just came back from the Garden, wearing my blue and white. Awesome, awesome game - the heckles were all worth it to see a Magic victory, in OT, nevertheless! Let's go out and shock the world - we believe in Magic!!! -
Hey everyone, Sorry for this post - not exactly sure it goes here rather than off-topic, but figured I'd give it a try. I will be going to game 4 in Boston on Monday, and will be decked out in my blue and white. I'm also interested in creating a banner/poster to show support for the Magic. (Yes, I'm fully prepared to get heckled again.) However, I'm rather artistically challenged and also photo-shopped challenged, and haven't been able to create a good sign to print out and put on a small poster board. I know there's a bunch of you who have good skills at putting together these sorts of things - would one of you be able to create an image that I can print out on oversized paper and tape on a board and then bring to the game? I will post pics after the game, of course, to prove that the sign was there in a sea of 18,000 Celtics fans, and will gladly acknowledge the creator on the sign. My idea right now is to have one side say "GOMAGIC" in that font they have on the front page. I can't seem to find a bigger logo of that to be a high enough resolution. For the back, I was imagining a simple "We believe in Magic" with the old school font and logo. I'm open to suggestions, though. (Please, nothing offensive to Boston or the Celtics. I'd rather not get beat up. ) Thanks in advance!

Wow, 15-point lead for the Celtics now. But remember last time they played in the regular season, LeBron led the Cavs to a near come-from-behind victory, storming back in the 4th quarter from a double-digit deficit too. Let's see how he and the rest of the Cavs respond in the 4th.

Wow, I don't even know what to say. Such a great game - watching Mike Woodson's face was priceless. Let's keep the intensity up and take care of business in game 2 as well! -
Official Game Thread: Magic vs. Kittens Game 1 4/18 5:30p
Nike replied to Ryan the Magic Fan's topic in Orlando Magic Forum
Wow, what a game. We go up big and then nearly lose all of it, the Bobcats outhustling us. Sure, there were a few bad calls, but we've got to get better ball movement and shot selection (Vince, I'm looking straight at you.) Those contested jumpers early in the shot clock have got to go. -
bbahhh, can't wait for the new host and the greater capacity chat room...

KG should definitely be suspended for one game. It should be pretty automatic - any elbow that makes contact above the waist is grounds for ejection and then suspension, I think, and given that KG already had one technical before the scuffle and seemed to be the physical aggressor (Q's words notwithstanding) the NBA should have a pretty easy call to make.
-
Well, compared to the first half, the Bulls made a nice run there to make the game competitive. Hopefully they'll learn from that second half and upset the Cavs in game 2.
-
Wow, the three times that are set vary a lot too. But it's good to see that we're on national TV for those three games - makes it a lot easier to follow if you're away from Orlando.
