Late Breaking News From The Truth...

hhmm...actually the player I would have liked we trade for was Marcus Williams from GSW. Young, cheap and probably wanting to prove something. i remember him playing well behind Kidd in NJ.
  2. quote: Originally posted by ball junkie: Courtney struggled, J.J. dominated. How can he be the savior if he doesn't play? I realize he doesn't fit our scheme now but isn't that Magic management's fault signing the wrong free agents and or drafting the wrong guys? Otis better get some better players in here this summer or I'm gonna go to the RDV very soon and demand a refund for my season ticket money. Dwight never dominated in summer league when he played either... Why don't you take a deep breath and realize it's not the end of the world. Actually, go ahead and refund your season ticket and watch the Magic beat the Nets and the rest of the league from home. Then you can start drawing circles in a dark corner somewhere while singing the theme song from Gilligan's island.
  3. I wouldn't call him underrated or an MVP candidate. I'd rather call him the perfect compliment to Dwight and vise versa. The reason why Dwight is the MVP is because he's been more consistent and more dominant on both ends of the floor while Rashard has been a little inconsistent with is shot and a little weak on the defensive side(maybe cos he's guarding PF?).

FANS GAME THREAD * Magic vs. Hawks * Dec. 10th

quote: Is the sig better? I still think that sig is way too long. I'd rather read real posts than to scroll over the same sig over and over, specially since this is the magic forum ur sig has nothing to do with us.
  5. The Magic won only one more game under Stan Van Gundy, through 17 games, than they did last season under Brian Hill. The difference, though, is legitimately Dwight Howard-sized. Howard is obviously at the forefront here with his unquestioned leap to legit MVP candidate. But he's also been surrounded with pieces that snap in snugly around him and handed to a coach in Van Gundy who A) had the gumption to believe that Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu could work well together and B) who knows how to win with a young team, as seen in Miami with Dwyane Wade in the season before Shaquille O'Neal arrived. For all the justified fretting about its bench, Orlando will remain ultra-dangerous if Jameer Nelson keeps getting to the rim like he has been and the rejuvenated Turkoglu continues to be a playmaking difference-maker. Lewis, meanwhile, will probably never convince folks that he was worthy of a contract approaching $120 million, but his length and shooting touch -- combined with Turkoglu's -- complement Howard's power game nicely. So nicely that, according to one admiring executive from the West, this is just the beginning. Link He wrote a few more things about the Magic including the fact that the Magic along with the Celtics are the only teams in the Eastern Conference playing elite level. Also some things about Dwight's trying to get back in the Dunk competition. Can anyone else feeling the love from the media?

  7. We may look back 5 years from now when Ariza is scoring like a possessed T-mac with regret, then forget all about it again when we look at 5 championship banners hanging on the rafters. Evans and Cook may never be All-Stars but they're(specially Evans)exactly what this team needs right now. Complementary players to make Dwight more effective.

If we come out aggressive don't start slowly like we did in Phoenix then we should be the better team. We can't defend their best player but they can defend ours either so our other players need to step up on this one. Dwight will dominate Bynum for 28pts and 17 rbs while Bynum gets in foul trouble early in the second quarter

    Parallels with Last Season

Another difference would be that most of our wins this season is coming from away games. We weren't able to do that last season, not even to sub-par teams.
  14. I know starting is very important but isn't the closer just as important? I don't care who starts for us if that player is gonna give his all which didn't happen yesterday. Bogans has been very solid for us but he was disinterested yesterday(JJ closed for us and did more than Ok IMO). Mo may get the nod to play against his former team, that defence and intensity will come in handy against Kobe.
