I think this is finally THAT YEAR that someone falls to us and not the team in front of us....please dear god let us get that guy and not take a flyer on some clown or local home boy. We are that inept that we may (and probably will) snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Based on our trades of the last decade it would seem that type of trade would be typical.

We were likely in the bottom of the league in a lot of categories the last 5 years. We werent good at much.

Celts have stock piled it and just ran deep into the playoffs. Its amazing since they were in a similar state to us when Dwight was "doing his crybaby thing". They had a useless aging Pierce and Garnett and were over the cap with few assets and now when you compare where they have come and we are it looks like two different worlds. Kudos to the Celts and vuuuurp for our team.

Struggled with shooting and handle...but had high energy. Henny would have been chomping at the bit for this....

Was it really that important to win that last game now? Happens every year...we win meaningless games late in the year and then pick just one pick too late...and then say what could we have done the draft just didn't fall our way. Its like clock work.
  7. Ok I know this doesn't belong here but it is too good to put on the other board. First all the arse kissing by Mitch about how great Dwight is and how they really want him back. His statements were soooo much arse kissing he probably got the brown nose. Then the "stay Dwight" billboards the Lakers put up. Just the same thing we tried. Now broussard says Dwight is gone from LA. For any Magic fan this is a stellar day. We will finally pay back the Lakers in a small way. I almost feel as good as the days Otis ans Brian got fired....almost. Congrats to Henny for sending payback LA's way. Hopefully Broussard is right!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting stuff....Im not sure how much credit you can give us for drafting Shaq though. Howard was preferred by most GMs too so Im not sure how much credit is due to our club for going with him. Penny or Webber both turned all stars....I guess my point is I judge a club based on how many guys they can draft and turn into all stars that arent top 3 picks which are inevitably easier to select. Going by that we dont have much in that department hence my dissatisfaction with our management. Great post though it is insightful.

I would hope everyone on the entire team including the jock strap washer knows after this horrible season they are all expendable.

OKC and San Antonio had great GMs and were into technology and we got Henny and the worst 5 year stretch in Magic history. Looks like another cheap young hire to run the team typical of the Cockroach's style...we will see how it works out.

The average NBA team is values at nearly 1.5 Billion dollars. Owners on average have seen their team worth increase 350% in the last 5 years (have you done that well personally?). The NBA runs over 200 billion dollars a year of revenue. That being said why wouldnt the NBA tell each owner "youve made a ton of money with us selling our script...so you WILL follow our script...and the Lakers/Celts are the NBA". Im sure some owners would not care but money is money and when you acquire a NBA franchise they let you know your position. I have ZERO doubt (NONE) that the NBA isnt scripted as a glorified championship wrestling...there is way too much money floating around to let teams like Charlotte and Sacramento amount to anything more than feeder teams to the NBA large market clubs. This script has made ALL the owners tons of money (good and bad (see our owner)) and average players tons of money (see Bismack and Ibaka). The league is unbelievably bullet proof and successful and it is made so by great management. They dont need input from owners...they need owners to follow the script....and the script is as it was last night...and last year...and when Dwight left for LA..and Shaq left for LA.... I always wonder WHY doesnt the NBA let the drawing happen live? Would it be MORE exciting or LESS? I think most fans would be more excited to see it happen LIVE...so why behind closed doors? I can see a drawing for $200 million in a lottery live but I cant see the draft lottery....WHY? Ive never heard a good answer to that question and my answer is "because there is funny business and script following that needs to happen behind closed doors". Never consider the NBA anything more than glorified championship wrestling and you wont be disappointed with the results.

Wasnt Otis a part of this team? My contention is this TEAM had options prior to Dwight leaving (and we had a good idea he was). This TEAM took a gamble with the future, thinking they knew Dwights intentions, and lost big time. I think Henny and Otis and this organization had plenty of opportunities over two years of reading the tea leaves with their asset and bungled it just like theyve bungled the last decade. Waiting until the very end with a guy who was unstable as Dwight, and we had two years plus to know, then having no plan is just bad management. Quite frankly its no surprise every big name talent we have had runs from our management as quick as they see fit. Why should they have confidence with our management?

thats not correct...the Nets had a solid package (relative to LA) with multiple first round picks (see Danny Ainges haul) and Lopez (who we could have moved...and should have). Golden State offered Klay Thompson and any other player not named Curry (likely Draymond Green) regardless of if Dwight would say he would stay. There were probably some other deals out there which may have been permutations of the above with the Lakers and Nets we didnt hear of too. We failed in trade and in the year prior to the trade failed to assess/trade our best asset. We knew it was coming and acted stupid for two years instead of moving him when we had more leverage.

Dont underestimate our desperation to have a marquee player. Our unprotected first(s) would let Ainge build a dynasty. Every club knows we are a bunch of buffoons and always will be...they know our #1s will be top 5 every year. Gordon and 2 unprotected #1's may tempt Ainge based on our consistent level of dysfunction.

We can now have 4 picks that amount to nothing instead of the usual two that amount to nothing....great year guys! I cant wait to hear Martins come spin how we really wanted #6 instead of number 1.

The only scenario we heard about worse than what we eventually got was one that sent Bynum to us which no GM on planet earth (save Philly) would have said yes to. We got a collection of garbage for arguably the second best young asset in the league. Meanwhile Ainge sent a worthless Garnett and Pierce to NJ with ridiculous contracts for high firsts....we are ass hats!

What a great trade by Henny....WTF did he even consider allowing our first to drop to two 2nd rounders. It had like a 1% chance of happening so it never would have killed the deal with the Lakers...buuuuuuut......once again the Lakers pull our pants down. WE ARE CLOWNS!!!

Please dear god dont let Ainge rape our club. He would likely get 10 unprotected firsts from us and probably own our arena too. Amazing the Celts were in a worse situation than us and now are in the Eastern COnf Finals and picking number 1 overall while we have nothing....

and if the Lakers keep their pick and Philly jumps to #1 with our ping pong balls acquired when we were on our "make the Magic great again" useless last 5 games run....the board goes total melt down. I wonder who Martins picks for us in the draft...after all I sure he will name himself GM soon enough.
